Video games have become a substantial influence on the curriculum of the modern entertainment industry. From first-person shooters to role-playing games, the video game industry has became accessible to nearly every kind of player, whether it be a person who enjoys invigorating storytelling, or somebody who just wants to reduce armies into nothing more than bloody shrapnel. “…developing a ‘major’ game title can be a significant task – writers, game designers, sound designers, visual artists and more must work together to create the actual game.”(“The Process of Game Creation & the Game Design Document.") One thing not often taken into consideration, though, is the hard work and dedication that goes into many of the games people play. Every video game out there had to go through a rigorous process before it could reach the public’s hands.
Every game usually starts out with a basic idea, a very basic concept, whether it is a story idea, or a game play idea. An idea might consist of something as simple as “A knight tries to save a princess from a monster,” or maybe “cars race with guns attached to their hull.” These ideas are so basic that one could argue a child could come up with them, but every idea has a start. Some games also draw inspiration from other media, such as movies or books, or television shows. A game play idea is only the start, though. This idea is usually put into a “Game Design Document,” a document that all the team members working on a game use to base their work off.
Concept development is where the game starts to really become pieced together. “The concept development phase takes the germ of an idea for a game, works it up as a game outline, and tests it out on potential audiences.”("The Process of Game Cr...

...s into it. It requires a lot of work, polishing, and, when working with a staff, teamwork. Nobody makes a good game in one night. A single game may take years to complete. Not every game is great, but anyone who works in the industry understands what work goes into a game. It is not just, as one might say, “Fun and games.”

Although video games have become more and more popular as time changes, it still has to face the criticism, ‘media panic’. Meida panic happens when a new media appears; people will have a highly emotional discussion about it (Drotner, 1999).
The evolution of the video game industry can be traced through the metamorphosis of the early, complex, fantasy-world based games that were focused on the avid adolescent gamers using conventional joysticks and consoles, to easy, realistic games that appealed to a broader spectrum of age groups using innovative wand-like joysticks and consoles.

Discuss about the genre of the game. Provide several similar genre games and compare those games’ approach with this one.
Video games have come a long way. They have evolved from the simple game of Pong into a complex, multi-platform, multi-genre, multi-billion dollar industry.
Guns blazing, roaring sounds of an engine, monsters waging war against men, aliens striking fear into people’s hearts, and a day dragons rule the world. I deal with all of these thing daily; playing as a hero or a monster it’s just I love to do these things. I always have loved playing videogames pretty much my entire life. I’ve always thought it would have been cool to actually get to make my own and I still think it is. This is my story about how me and a good friend have decided to all work on a videogame together and how I’ve decided I want to do it for the rest of my life.
...an enterprise underway to create a video game about how to make enjoyable video games.
There are several negative stereotypes associated with video games and those who play them; some of these may often hold true. However, there are plenty of learning opportunities in video games. While the direct purpose of some games is to educate or train, other games that do not directly have this purpose can still become a learning experience for the player. As Ntiedo Etuk, president of the educational video game company Tabula Digital said, “The traditional view of video games has been that they are distractions from the task of learning” (Electronic Education Report 1). Video games are an effective tool for learning and retaining skills both inside and outside the classroom environment. The basic cycle of game play--the introduction to the game, game play, collaboration, improvement of these between each round, and evaluation at the end of the game (Klievink and Janssen 159)--are nearly parallel to the traditional classroom learning cycle of reading a textbook or listening to a lecture, taking a quiz, studying, focusing on items missed on the quiz, and taking a test or exam. Within this cycle, there are many opportunities to develop and perfect both educational, life, and occupational skills.
Some students have played violent video games to have fun with their friends or siblings while they are online and offline. Plus they play to try to release their stress, frustration, and pressure after having a hard time doing their homework or in class. Video game developers goal is to make fans happy when they are playing their games. Video games are meant to have feeling of adventure, enjoyment, and excitement. It is helping the player to play video games without harm. Video games also help players to...
Design thinking process has eight generation stages: observation or analysis, framework, imperative or facts, solutions or alternatives, alternative evaluation and concept selection, implementation, construction, and post occupancy evaluation.
Art is a powerful form of human expression. It is a construct of the imagination and skill that can invoke into the audience feelings the artist felt while creating the work; it can be beautiful or hideous while still carrying a powerful message. A painting of war can instill the sense of dread that the soldiers felt. The statue, The Thinker, can lead you to ponder the pondering of the statue. With the help of technology, films and photography have captured people the same way paintings and statues have. More recently video games have exploded in popularity and have left the simplicity of Pong in 1972, to something that is only limited by the imagination and talent of the designers. A game designer can express themselves through the creation of video games with narratives that reflect upon their own past. A game uses hundreds of thousands lines of code as paint and a powerful game engine as a canvas to create seemingly living, breathing worlds. Some games have as much written or voice-acted dialog as a movie or novel with stories to engage, morally challenge and absorb the player.
The goal of this step is to come up with as many solutions as possible. There is no criticism or judgment during this stage just ideas being thrown into a pile of solutions. Ina group you want to keep generating ideas even if it seems like you are done. Often times in my group I think we stop to early instead of continuing the brainstorming activity. For a summer internship I did we had to brainstorm ideas to engage our customers (games, raffles, etc.) as soon as the group of interns and myself started to really get the ball rolling I felt as if we were just getting started. There were some long pauses in the brainstorming process, but I genuinely thought it was because we all were thinking. Another mistake that has happened during brainstorming has been storytelling. I have personally made this mistake a couple of times in my group projects. I come up with an idea and instead of just stating it in a couple of words I feel the need to story tell to explain myself. I realize now that I should not be explaining my idea or afraid someone will shoot it down because in a true brainstorming environment there should be no critiquing only jotting down of
