Everybody loves to travel to new and exotic places to explore. Now what travelers don't realize
when we desire to explore other parts of the world, that we are doing good and bad things to the
economy, social, and the environment, especially in many developing areas around the world, but to
keep Tourism up and running it must be carefully maintained from the environment to the financial
areas.
Tourism can be both be a positive and a negative effect, but what tourism creates for communities
around the world are jobs, so that the economy can stay secure and to avoid turbulent to continue to
build mini businesses that are very important to developing areas that are in need for the money to
improve and make extra tax (Simm 1). Now the negative effects of tourism to the economy can be very
indiscriminate because of all of the construction to build a paradise for tourists, the money usually
lands flat on the government and the jobs that are created for the locals are unfortunately seasonal and
are very poorly paid and because of all of the buildings and construction the locals are hit with a
steeped increase on the cost of property, goods, and service. Nevertheless one of the biggest negative
effects on the economy in tourism is that the money produced does not always contribute to locals but

Tourism impacts can be generally classified into seven categories with each having both positive and negative impacts. These impacts include; economic, environmental, social and cultural, crowding and congestion, taxes, and community attitude. It is essential for a balance on array of impacts that may either positively or negatively affect the resident communities. Different groups are concerned about different tourism impacts that affect them in one way or another. Tourism’s benefits can be increased by use of specific plans and actions. These can also lead to decrease in the gravity of negative impacts. Communities will not experience every impact but instead this will depend on particular natural resources, development, or spatial patterns (Glen 1999).
It is the economic effects of tourism which bring the most benefit to the host nation. Tourism is a low import user which means more of the money earned here stays here. The government is earning money through tourist taxes such as the airport tax, increased export earnings and income tax revenue from people employed by the industry. A balance must be struck between these benefits and associated negative impacts on the community and the environment.
This issue results in this country and the destination not developing, in terms of infrastructure. When the destination is not developing and the locals do not benefit from tourism it also result in lower salaries for citizen workers, and a general failure by tourism to significantly contribute to rural poverty alleviation in Maun, this means that the foreign enterprises are growing and making profit of tourism in Maun while the locals are benefit nothing. The researcher wants to resolve the problem in order to improve the economy of the tourism enterprises in Maun. The local tourism enterprises to be given first priority in stating the business as this will create employment and also contribute to the gross profit of the country because the revenue will be coming in the country than going out. The local businesses can help in reducing poverty in the destination as well as in the country.

The economy can be clearly identified as the most beneficial aspect of tourism. “According to recent statistics, tourism provides about 10% of the world’s income and employs almost one tenth of the world’s workforce” (Mirbabayev, 2007). In Australia alone, Tourism contributed $87.3 billion in 2012, and employed 908,434 (7.9%) people (Kookana & Duc Pham, 2013). Through the multiplier effect, once a tourist arrives they need accommodation and stay in a hotel. That direct revenue goes towards the hotel paying to outsource its laundry and paying a local farmer for products. The indirect effects are the farmer being able to buy more seeds or pay employees and the employees can buy food from the grocery store. The induced effects is money going back to the government and the government is able to pay civil servants and the rest goes back into the economy and helps promote other
