Joseph Campbell once stated “ A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” When a hero see someone is in some sort of commtion the will dive in and give them all the service they need. Instead of focusing on what will happen heros make virtuous decisions and consistently make sacrifices for others. Heroism is making commendable decision and sacrificing everything to help, but not wanting anything in return for making the sacrifice.
Anyone who strives to consistently make virtuous decisions and who is willing to make sacrifices for others without wanting anything in return can become a hero. To begin, standing up for one’s beliefs is not always easy; people who do so even in the face of opposition, therefore,

When someone is being bullied they will not stand around and watch; they will be the ones to stand up and help the person out. They will be the ones who help students in trouble and not the student who walks past a kid who dropped their books on the floor; they will help no matter what the situation is. A hero is not someone who chooses to make a decision for fame; also they will not be the person to do something that is right to gain anything from it that they may have not gained if they didn't make the right decision. Overall, a hero will strive to not make decisions based on their own selves but on whether it is right and or it helps someone. Thus, a hero is someone who makes exceptional decision, cedes for others, and does not ask for something in return.Even though many people consider heros to be famous people heros can be normal people , like firefighters, who sacrifice for other on a daily basis.Perhaps if we had more people who focus on doing what's good in life, then we could have more everyday heroes who are helping others all around the
Webster’s dictionary defines a hero as any man admired for his courage, qualities or exploits, especially in war. Some people attribute the term hero mostly to war. My personal definition of a hero is someone who takes a stand against evil or an unjust cause. The term hero can be applied to anyone, it isn’t necessary to save the world from explosion to be a hero. The act of standing up for a friend can also be called a heroic act.
A hero is someone who is confident and competent. They show that they are fearless and put others before them. A hero is alert and aware of the lives he or she lives. Heroes usually have a passion for what they do and they do it and finish it, no matter the consequence. Therefore sacrifice contributes more to heroism because heroes putting themselves before others shows that they are selfless.
What is a hero? A hero can be classified as a number of things. A hero can be a person who in the opinions of others has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. Ervin Staub, a holocaust survivor from Hungary and as scholar on altruistic behavior, has written, "Goodness like evil often begins in small steps. Heroes evolve; they aren't born. Very often the rescuers make only a small commitment at the start, to hide someone for a day or two. But once they had taken that step, they begin to see themselves differently, as someone who helps. What starts as mere willingness becomes intense involvement." The business man, Oskar Schindler, demonstrated a powerful example
Being a hero means to be willing to risk your life for others. Such as, Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman was a fantastic football player and he loved playing it too. Despite that, Pat Tillman turned down a 3.6million dollar contract to the Arizona Cardinals to go fight the war against terrorism. He ended up dieing from friendly fire. All this goes to show how brave Pat Tillman was to risk his life and give up his football career to go fight in Afghanistan to help protect the American people. Likewise, the people that helped evacuate New York City after the
Heroism entails several things; a selfless act, courage, or the accomplishments of bold and daring expeditions. A hero can also mean courage in the face of death. Others may view this type of hero as stupid, or a martyr. Every hero has faults and these faults along with heroic deeds make the man or woman; a hero, heroine.
A hero is a man of courage and ability who is admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. A hero is a person who does not come along very often in any time period. He is a special person, who is a step above the average person in the way that he handles any situation that may arise.
In order for a person to be considered a hero they must have a certain quality. The quality that a hero should have is bravery. All heroes should be brave because if they go into a dangerous situation, they need to be able to stand strong under the fear. “ He thought you were only brave if you knew something was dangerous and scary and you carried on regardless(Mount)”.
In my opinion, a hero is someone whose principal purpose, whether it be in one situation or over the span of their entire life, is to help others while simultaneously making the world a better place. When the word hero is brought up, the most prevailing image that comes to mind is superheroes like Batman and Superman. But I don’t think you have to have superpowers or even be well known in order to be a hero. There are people all over the world whose intention is to do selfless deeds and go out of their way for others without expectation of obtaining anything in return. These are the type of people I like to consider everyday heroes. They go through life just trying to be the best they can and trying to help as many people as they can. Whether
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a hero is an individual who is admired for great bravery or fine qualities. To me a hero is so much more than a person who shows great bravery. When I think of a hero many fine qualities come to mind; intelligence, courage, altruism, compassion and great bravery.
Some definitions of heroes are people, who have noble qualities, and put the lives of others before their own life. They are expected to be reasonable and calm, during scary times, like when a shooting is going on, looking out for
A hero is a man who is distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility. and strength to carry out tasks that involve great risks. A hero can also be a person who fights for other people to help or save them. from their fears and fears. Heroism is fighting even when you are scared. It’s showing that you will do whatever you can for the people on your block even if you can’t save the whole town. The perfect example of a hero is Mike Zellner. Mike Zellner shows that he is a hero because he kept fighting while in the army not knowing if he was going to make it home. Not only in the military, but also when he was fighting a fire to save others life when he could be taking his own.
When I think of a hero I immediately think of someone who is strong, intelligent, handsome, and daring. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. Courage, honesty, bravery, selflessness, and the will to try are just a few of the overlooked qualities of a hero. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa.
Heroism is defined as an act of courage and an act of selflessness. They reflect the highest levels of morality in society. Heroes have embodied the morality codes of civilizations throughout the ages. When heroes display courage, observers often identify with that courage. The refusal to take the easy way out and the ability to act in spite of fear, is what makes a person a hero. This is the way everyone wishes to react in the midst of a crisis. As witnessed in literature and real life, mankind needs heroes to provide an inspirational role model, an escape from the mundane, and a guide for morality.
