Heroism is fighting even when you are scared. It’s showing that you will do whatever you can for the people on your block even if you can’t save the whole town. The perfect example of a hero is Mike Zellner. Mike Zellner shows that he is a hero because he kept fighting while in the army not knowing if he was going to make it home. Not only in the military, but also when he was fighting a fire to save others life when he could be taking his own. Equally important is patrolling the city not knowing the risks he might face. He does all this for the love of his country. These all show that he is a hero.
Mike Zellner is the hero that I have interviewed. He has a reputation for always helping others by putting them before himself. Being involved with the law and justice is what Mike always wanted to since he was kid because his brother was more of a troublemaker and was a run in with the law. He tried to help his brother get

During his time he has been shot at and has been in car accidents. He has also encountered many horrifying tragedies that he wishes he could forget. From these encounters he has changed as a person and has gained self skills. “One strength that I have gained in being more meticulous,” Mike Zellner explained. He has learned to examine the problem before jumping to conclusions like a lot of the rookie cops do. Although he can been to sites where the people have died many police officers have died as well. The average police officer death rates, according to NRP in 2015, are 14% every year. This shows that he is a hero because he took the risk of dying during his job to make sure that the townspeople were safe and in peace. Throughout his career he has encountered over one hundred drug busts, and many arrests where the people are his friends. Doing things that are hard on you, but doing it for the safety of your people is something very heroic of Mike
The article continues to interview friends of the officer saying that support is being poured out, this validates that valiance is in all police and everyday
Mike Otis is a main character that is certainly not popular at Don Carey High. He is an unusual person who is shy and he keeps to himself. He always wears a big raincoat and safety pins in his jeans. Mike is a dweeb who minds his own business. Mike was also a paranoid person. For example, he gave the wrong address and phone number to the school so if something happened they could not contact him.
For example, Taylor and Zavala both received a Medal of Valor for saving children from a burning building. But the film does not gloss over the dangers of policing, nor does it make any of the police officers appear to be invincible. For example, not only was Zavala killed in the line of duty, but another officer in the LAPD was stabbed in the eye while on duty and could no longer work as an officer. While these occurrences are surprising, they do not necessarily occur to the average police officer. Even so, it is a reality that these types of risks come with being a police officer.
Mikes father had died when he was only a little boy and you’d never believe it by looking at his mental state. The financial problems he went through being that he left an exceptional job in place for volunteering all his time toward Klal Yisroel, was only something such a holy person could handle.
...is novel with an outstanding salute to those who serve in law enforcement saying, “And so I tip my hat to all the good cops throughout our nation who risk their lives and strive to do the right thing when facing split-second decisions about life and death every day in the kill zone” (Klinger, 2004, page 274). Pulling the trigger of a gun can cause a variety of issues both within and outside of a police officer’s life, but it could also potentially save another human being from harm and keep the safety of our society intact.
A hero is someone who is confident and competent. They show that they are fearless and put others before them. A hero is alert and aware of the lives he or she lives. Heroes usually have a passion for what they do and they do it and finish it, no matter the consequence. Therefore sacrifice contributes more to heroism because heroes putting themselves before others shows that they are selfless.
What is a hero? A hero can be classified as a number of things. A hero can be a person who in the opinions of others has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. Ervin Staub, a holocaust survivor from Hungary and as scholar on altruistic behavior, has written, "Goodness like evil often begins in small steps. Heroes evolve; they aren't born. Very often the rescuers make only a small commitment at the start, to hide someone for a day or two. But once they had taken that step, they begin to see themselves differently, as someone who helps. What starts as mere willingness becomes intense involvement." The business man, Oskar Schindler, demonstrated a powerful example
All in all, heroism is a vague word that could be defined as many of things. Such as bravery, courage, honesty, morality, trusts...etc. If Beowulf was defined as a hero then the knight should be defined as one also seeing as he gave the old women the choice to be old and good or pretty and bad. Or if the Author of The Art of Courtly love cannot be heroic and then write in a way of being heroic how can one decide what heroism is. All three of these studies show different forms and fashions of heroic people, feelings, and attitudes. Overall heroism is and always will be based on personal opinion, what one person defines as a hero can be completely different from what another person sees it as.
for his country and did his duty, even though he knew he was going to
According to google.com a hero is someone who “is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievments, or noble equalities.” (google.com). For example, superman , superman is an all time american classic modern hero who is admired for his courage and for saving earth multiple times from super villains. Another example of a hero is Beowulf. Beowulf was created around 1000 AD and was known far and wide throughout the lands for his selflessness, bravery, and courage .
He stepped up and got the townspeople working together to build a bigger and better Breitbach’s. This motivation that Mike brings, and the leadership he has is what I strive to be someday. He is an idol to the people of his town and the would all do anything for him, and in return he would do anything for them. This is how I feel about my family, I would do anything to make them feel at their best and make them
When I think of a hero I immediately think of someone who is strong, intelligent, handsome, and daring. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. Courage, honesty, bravery, selflessness, and the will to try are just a few of the overlooked qualities of a hero. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa.
In today’s society, heroes are needed because mankind sees them as inspirational role models. For example, firefighters, police officers, and soldiers, sacrifice themselves everyday in order to protect citizens as well as the country. Firefighters risk their lives in order to save people from burning buildings. During the terrorist attack of 9/11, Mike Kehoe scaled 93 floors to save the people that were trapped in the
Not only do police officers save lives and stop crimes, they inspire others to be heroes as well. For example, many children dream to be police officers just because the police officers set an example of a hero. In many tragedies like in September 11, 2001 many officers did not freak out, but they helped save lives from the twin towers, they got people to safety and did what they could have
I have found by placing my ego aside and being honest with myself, I have become wiser in my choices as an officers and a person. This type of personal growth has reflected in my abilities become a leader, a well-rounded officer, a productive member of the K-9 unit, and a person who very much cares for the community he serves. I have learned over time it is necessary to take a personal interest in the community, and to work as a team to solve criminal issues.
