Mining in the Amazon Rainforest is bad because it ruins one of purest, most untouched places in the world. If mining is allowed, the place would lose the traces of what it was and could have been. The Amazon counts for 50% of the remaining rainforests. We would also lose a lot of oxygen because the Amazon produces 20% of oxygen in the whole world. Mining in the Amazon could lead to a gold rush and “WWF's report said that a "gold rush in the region could create irreversible damage to these cultures".” (1). If a gold rush does happen, all the native tribes will have more and more people coming into their lands, ruining it.
