This assignment will discuss the development in the different type of psychological approaches and why they are important, The different approaches are biological, learning, cognitive, psychodynamic, humanistic, behavioural, social they all have an Positive effect on different understanding of the human behaviour. I have chosen Psychodynamic and cognitive as my two chosen theories which has proven in the health care sector to have a good effect on helping the human behaviour, (NHS Choice 2015) the three theorist of my two chosen theories are Freud Sigmund and Carl Jung who are the founder of the psychodynamic theory the theory focus on the unconscious mind, development, feelings also the emotion of the human. Jean piagat’s is the main founder of cognitive which focuses more on the way human process information, how they learn and think thing, I will also be discussing nature by nurture debate which includes the way human think, feel and behave weather it’s the nature side which is genitally inherited or is it the nurture side, influences by life and environmentally experiences I am also going to explore the importance of attachment in my two chosen theory which identify the importance of the bond with child and caregiver (Lawton J et al 2015).
In this essay, we have been asked to evaluate two psychological perspectives’ in relation to “typical behaviour”. The perspectives I have chosen is the behaviourist and biological approach, to be able analyse these approaches, I have decide to use the case study of the death of the two year old ‘James Bulger’ and with this, the relevant therapy’s used by each perspective.
The psychodynamics theory which was introduced by Freud to understand the human mind and psyche, reached a new level in the continuous analysis from therapists. Psychodynamics originally has been explained as a study of various psychological forces that affect human behavior which is related to early experiences. It specifically discusses the connection between the conscious and subconscious motivations. The theory was further analyzed and developed by Melanie Klein, Carl Jung and Alfred Adler. Based on the theory, the psychodynamic therapy evolved to help patients through psychoanalysis. With time other therapies like individual, group and family therapy evolved to offer treatment by understanding the present day complexities in more detail. The main aim of the therapy is self –awareness through identifying the various influences of many past events in life. The therapies are continuously evolving since it was introduced by Freud to help in solving a variety of psychological disorders within people.

In this essay I intend to discuss two psychological theories of development; The psychodynamic approach and the behavioural approach. In order to do this, I will outline each theory and explain how it accounts for psychological development, health and behaviour of the individual. In addition to this, I will explain how an understanding of these theories relates to care and would help a care professional to support an individual in a care setting.

The psychodynamic theory encompasses both Freud and Erikson. Freud believed the three components of personality were the id, the ego, and the superego. The id is responsible for all needs and urges, while the superego for ideals and moral. The ego moderates between the demands of the id, the superego, and reality. However, Erikson believed that personality progressed through a series of stages, with certain conflicts arising at each stage. Success in any stage depended upon successfully overcoming these conflicts.
