Can you imagine your life without media? Most people of my generation have never

known life without media. Our generation consists of people who have grown up

sitting in the living room, facing the flickering TV screen. Numerous people quote

movie lines and talk about TV programs that they watch with friends and family.

People’s lives became global villages with only minutes passed through television

and internet. People watch TV in the streets to utilize their time wisely, and drivers

can search the route of the direction of where they want to go. As you know, media

is a valuable resource for people to have better lives. Media is a best resource to

learn knowledge, information and news from one part of the world to the other. …show more content…

It is a great tool for

knowing the facts from other countries. It gives factual information and fair analysis

of a situation, and news. According to the article, “What Are the Effects of People in

Our Society”, writers described that news broadcast thorough different media helps

to know about the day-to-day events in the world. Furthermore, weather forecast

programs tell us about the weather, so that people can take precautions or plan

accordingly.

Media also works to help, liberate, and empower people’s knowledge. For example,

the novel “Roots” by Alex Haley was released in director David whooper’s television

show, the entire world was awakened to the tragic hardships of African Americans

during the slave trade era in the United States. Historic movies and television

shows have had a tremendous effect on the attitude of people all over the world.

Media educates the people to know about their basic rights. According to article,

and documentaries revolving around social issues increase a social awareness in

On the other hand, “Media is one of the biggest problems in this society (Robert

Jackson, 1998).” “The media Awareness Network” addresses that media badly

affects teenagers. They presented cases in which many teenagers copy crimes seen

in movies and on television, after they watch excessive violence from the media.

However, watching media in limited can be appropriate and beneficial for children.

For example, Gerard Jones, author of Killing Monster : why children need fantasy,

super heroes, and make believe violence, argues that can actually be beneficial for

developing healthy attitudes toward real-life violence as an adult. It allows children a

fantasy space where they can experience the feelings and emotions of violence

Moreover, watching the world news every night is great way to children to stay

informed about world event. It is important for children to be culturally and politically

aware as they enter adulthood. It is one way of encouraging this awareness.

Newspaper is a best resource to develop the reading skills. Likewise, documentary is

a great way to accelerate the learning process to children. Most countries around
