Jorge Luis Borge the author of the essay “The garden of forking paths” was born August
1899 and died in June 1986. He was an Argentine poet and short story writer. He was born in Buenos Aires in Argentina. His works shows a reflection of hallucinatory in all literature.
His works have contributed to philosophical literature and to both fantasy and magical realism.
During his lifetime he wrote so many books amongst which are Ficciones, Aleph and of course this particular piece, “The Garden of Forking Paths.” It is a story about controlling, unleashing and gathering survival techniques by getting and practicalizing ideas in the real world and imagination. Though the story began in a way that is more confusing but reading through it demonstrated a clear case of an indirect heroic adventure.
The main character Tsun demonstrated the qualities of an hero who was ready to give up his existence for others to live. His last minutes could actually be used for his selfish interest but he never did. He decided to give up his life in other to prove his point. Depending on different individuals. The word hero has different meanings in different settings but in a way all heroes possess certain qualities which make them different from an ordinary person. Heroes are people who exhibit courage and bravery acts in other to make a difference. A person who has distinguished character or ability that makes him different from an ordinary being.
