The chapter begins with Nick explaining that when he arrived home he noticed that Gatsby’s entire mansion had all the lights on but seemed to be unoccupied. Then Gatsby approaches him and invites him to go to Coney Island with him and go swimming. Then Nick explained to Gatsby that he was going to arrange a get together for Gatsby to see Daisy. Gatsby then asks Nick if he makes a lot of money and he explains that he does not. Gatsby then explains that he could help him to get a lot of money by doing a “confidential job” without having to do any business with Meyer Wolfsheim. Nick declines the offer. The next day Nick called up Daisy and invited her to tea and told her that she must not bring Tom with her. The day Daisy was going over to Nick's for tea was a very …show more content…

Then later on Daisy had arrived. Then Gatsby and Daisy were talking in the living room. She explained how happy she was to see him again. Gatsby was still nervous and knocked the clock on the mantel over. They prepared the tea and cakes and then sat down to enjoy them. Nick and Daisy talked for awhile then Nick excused himself but Gatsby followed him into the kitchen. Gatsby explained that meeting with her again was a terrible mistake. Nick explained that they are just both embarrassed. Nick then leaves them alone for half an hour. When he returned he found them both to be enjoying themselves and that Daisy was crying tears of joy and that Gatsby was “glowing”. Then Gatsby invites him and Daisy over to his house to show them around. Daisy had seemed to be overwhelmed with Gatsby’s mansion and couldn't seem to understand how he lived there alone. Daisy also had began to cry when Gatsby showed her a pile of shirts. Gatsby then tells Daisy about the endless nights he has watched the green light on the end of their dock and thought about their future together.
