‘Ordinary,predictable and painless’ The three flaws that are shown in the Givers society. The novel, The Giver by Lois Lowry, presents a society that tries to preserve utopia by being the ‘perfect world’. In the community they are stripped away from colour, which shows that everyone is identical and will not be judged based on their appearance and colour which also amplifies their utopian society. Furthermore, the community also is required to use precise language when speaking so that they ensure that unintentional lies are never uttered, as well as it helps the elders to control the people in the community. In the Givers utopian society that avoids many of society ills, which includes hunger and poverty, the elders and only them uses series of technological advancements which controls the climate and flat terrain so that they can maximise the production of food and transport without hills, curves or hazard weather, also everyone in the community who is nine years or higher gets their own bike so that they improve air quality and everyone would have the same way of transport. …show more content…
