The Giver Chapter 1 Summary

Jonas woke up with the sound of gabriel crying so he picks gabriel up and rocked him so he stops crying.Right as the baby stops crying jonas heard that sound the echo again, just as jonas started listening harder he was learning to hear beyond and he heard the sweet elegant sound of music playing.Jonas looked around for the music and saw a house with bright lights around the house he was freezing so was gabriel so he knocked on the door and a a jaunty lady answered the door her name was isabella and her husband's name was joseph.Jonas took gabriel and sat next to the heart warming fire and told the cheerful couple about his journey to save his community he also told them that he never seen a house that beautiful.The couple had them get in their jeep and they took jonas and gabe to a big meadow call hope valley in montana,after that they went back to the cabin and slept to jonas the most luxurious bed ever.

Jonas asked the couple for something to ride back to the community to see if anything changed, they gave him a bike with 4 wheels called a ATV with a solar panel on the back so he set up the cold hill to the community.Jonas wanted to get meat for protein so he saw a small animal and tried to kill the small defenceless animal, but he learned that is was a porcupine and he got quilled.The closer to the community he got the louder the music got and people laughing.He went into the annex and surprised the secretary and went and hugged the giver the giver hugged him back giver said “come with me” and jonas followed.On the way the jonas and the giver talked about the changes in the community and how people can now choose their wife jobs and they can have babies.
Nobody knew jonas was here beside the secretary and the giver. They heard the word jonas jonas jonas and the closer the giver and jonas got the louder it got.They were having a celebration for jonas and his achievements . When he walked up to the crowd they all gasped.They were all happy and greeted him thes sung danced and had feasts.
He woke up just as the sun came up and went to fiona's family unit knocked on her door and proposed to her.For the whole next week they planned their wedding the community's first marriage.The day of the wedding they dressed up and when she walked down the aisle the saw each other for the first time.They had the wedding and said “I do” . After the wedding they had a big feast with cake and with steak of ribs.
They both wanted a baby so they adopted gabriel.they also wanted a girl so fiona diceided to have a baby.

9 month later she went into labor so he went to the hospital and found out that their were 2 baby girls.They would still kill a baby if their were twins but jonas asked the chief and she immediately changed the rule.the baby's names where betty and rosemary, rosemary had the same light eyes as jonas and gabriel.
