BANG... Billions of years ago there was a chemical reaction that caused a massive expansion called “the Big Bang” (Larocco 2011). Electrons and nuclei formed atoms. These atoms formed a gaseous cloud Earth. Through chemical reactions caused by energy produced by the Sun a molecule that was able to self-replicate developed. This is the first sign of evolution. Through subsequent chemical reactions inorganic compounds came into existence. The first ancestor of today’s cell is called a Protobiont. It took millions of years just to get to this point (Zimmer 2010). It took another 10 billion years for us to discover the key to understanding our own genetic makeup, the double helix. The double helix model first came to the public’s attention when …show more content…
The Darwinian phase of evolution last for approximately three and a half billion years. Out of the Darwinian phase of evolution human beings evolved. Hawking states that we have done a good job of transferring internal information, but due to the rapid increases of external evolution we are not able to keep up with the external information available. Internal information has been handed down to us through the generations of our DNA. The internal information of our DNA has not had a significant change in over ten thousand years. According to his estimates over the last several million years of evolution our DNA has only been modified by a few million bits. Mathematically speaking that figures out to about one or two bits a year. A bit of DNA contains the information to answer a yes or no …show more content…
Mechanical machines could then be sent out to explore different stars. (Kazan 2011). The species Homo sapiens would not be able to survive the galactic voyage to explore new life and new civilization. Our current genetic makeup is not suited for space travel. If we sent machines they would be self-designing, and when they land they would start gathering materials and replicate in order to continue their mission. Mechanical machines could one day replace DNA. At one point, DNA replaced an earlier form of life that existed on the planet
Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries is a biography that is divided into 5 chapters total and a total of 42 mini sections. Bringing together more than forty of Tyson's favorite essays explores a myriad of cosmic topics, from what it would be like to be inside a black hole to the movie industry's feeble

In the 1970’s, Stephen Hawking made the argument that the quantum-mechanical effects of black holes made them emit radiation
Stephen Hawking is an extraordinary being to say the least. Stephen is possibly the smartest person on the planet, and if he isn’t quite there he is extremely close. Hawking is a very interesting person between his family, being diagnosed, education, and many other things, including his research, he is definitely worth reading about. This paper will inform you of everything you need to know about Stephen William Hawking.

An underlying theme present throughout the series is the possibility that our existence is not the only one. According to current theories in physics, it is entirely possible that our universe is just one of many universes f...
The transition started with apes beginning to stand up straight and on two feet rather and four, then they began to have larger and more complex brains, which then lead to apes learning to communicate through sounds and art, until finally the apes “evolved” into who human are today and began making tools and forming communities like we have today. Many scientists believe that this will continue and eventually we will adapt and become a “new” species; However, I believe over the past 6000 years when civilization began, was the moment we started to pull ourselves out of evolution and cheat “survival of the fittest”. From our creation of large cities to the invention of the machine gun and nuclear warheads, our society is not threatened by anything except ourselves; therefore, we are not evolving to further better our chances of survival. I have found few example of how our species is no longer affected by survival of the fittests. First,
According to the theory led by Charles Darwin in the evolution theory explains the origin of life to how to transformed to another being and changed. At first the life on earth was very hard to sustain. To evolve a life on anything there must be the perfect environment but the earth didn’t have any such environment. When the earth was first originated it was very hot poisonous due to the gas that were just made in the formation of the earth. Life couldn’t form on that situation. Slowly after thousands of years

This shape looks much like a twisted ladder and gives the DNA the power to pass along biological instructions with great precision. The scientific and medical progress of DNA has been immense, from involving the identification of our genes that trigger major diseases or the creation and manufacture of drugs to treat these diseases. DNA has many significant uses in society, health and culture today. One important area of DNA research is that used for genetic and medical research. Our ability to now diagnose a disease in its earlier stages has been greatly improved....
For example such as medicine, it can be sometime possible to reading DNA sequences and find out how some diseases occur. It can sometimes be possible to fight some infectious diseases or any form of disease by changing the DNA codons which cause most of these problems.
Genes, or chromosomes, are often referred to as "blueprints" which are passed down from generation to generation. From the study of these hereditary materials, scientists have ventured into the recent, and rather controversial, field of genetic engineering. It is described as the "artificial modification of the genetic code of a living organism", and involves the "manipulation and alteration of inborn characteristics" by humans.
Next to cosmology, Hawking is one of many physicists who are seeking out a flawless theory of Quantum Gravity. This topic is listed under the "Stephen Hawking" Wikipedia entry as one of Hawking's primary fields of research.
Although I was not doing an article on black holes, I decided to watch the following documentary, merely because it was related to the cosmos.
