DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM 1 CASE STUDY
INTRODUCTION:
I want to begin with my one of my favorite verse in the Bible. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who build his house on rock. Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who build the house on the sand; the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell and great was its fall.” [Published by Zondervan, Grand Rapids, 2000, P.1077]. Based on tis verse I want to evaluate the business ethics and values, Integrity, and the corporate culture of New Gen Health and Science and why Benji should take advantage of the opportunity and sign the contract.
As we understand from the history of the company, New Gen Health Science has a bad reputation because of it corruption, embezzlement and extortion. However, even if New Gen health Science a company that doesn’t have ethics and values, with no integrity and accountability, I want to advise Benji to work for the company and influence the system with the right Kingdome mind, integrity and Character.
The Ethics and Values of New Gen Health Science
“Business ethics is a form of applied ethics or professional ethics that examines ethical principles that arise in a business environment” Wikipedia the Free Encyclopedia.
Ethics and values are so crucial in the business world to build credibility and good reputation. When Jesus gave example about the foolish and the wise man who build their house on sand and rock, He had a point to make. Both can build a house; however, the way they build will determine the strength and success of the house. New Gen doesn’t have any business ethics and values. ...

...worthy ethical and accountable. New Gen health science is soaked with corruption, embezzlement and extortion. Trustworthiness or integrity does not just happen unless and otherwise there is a person who is geared for the truth and practice these within the organizations. That why people like Benji should take advantage of this opportunity and face this corrupted world and practice their faith. After Jesus said “Go in to the world” He did not leave them by themselves but “the lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the sign that followed.” [New International Version, 2003 P 1022]. Truth is stronger than false and light is stronger than dark. “if God is with us who can be against us.” [New international Version, 2003 P. 743].

Johnson & Johnson, a healthcare company that has dominated its industry for several decades, is currently undergoing managerial upheaval in light of recent blunders amongst its top-tier managers. It has spent years priding itself on appeasing stakeholders and being a safe provider of various pharmaceuticals, but product recalls and subsequent revenue drops have plagued the company as of late. Alex Gorsky spearheads Johnson & Johnson’s revival after previous CEO William Weldon resigned due to missteps. The cause of which stems from misinterpretation of common business ethics through poor leadership and social responsibility that damage the stakeholders.
Similar to Matthew 7, in the Twelfth Book of Matthew, verse 33, he states “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit” (2015). If Ramona disapproves of the CEO’s behavior and actions during the pep rally, she should not sign the contract simply to earn “big bucks” and represent a company with conflicting values. Ramona should not accept the position with Next Step due to its questionable business practices, the dismissiveness of the Next Step recruiter when questioned regarding the company’s ethics code and the CEO exhibiting non-ethical and immoral
...ints this can be accomplished by applying the remedies discussed by Rion. Applying these principles will be helpful in building relationships with customers, employees, and stakeholders. Associates who know how to handle ethical concerns are also more productive, they possess strong core values that reinforce their sense of purpose. Rion’s concepts are ethically sound, relevant, and can be supported by biblical verses like Col. 4:1, 1 Jn. 5:4, and Ro.3:31. “If you build that foundation, both the moral and the ethical foundation, as well as the business foundation, and the experience foundation, then the building won't crumble” as cited by Henry Kravis N.D.
Business ethics are a the codes of conduct and company lays out so it's employees follow a righteous moral compass that's in the same direction as the company's.
The evolution of technology has been hand in hand with the human subjugation of earth, but the question persists, when does the use of technology go too far? Advances in medical science have increased the average human lifespan and improved the quality of life for individuals. Medical science and biology are steadily arriving at new ways to alter humans by the use of advanced genetic alteration. This technology gives rise to the question of how this new technology ought to be used, if at all. The idea of human enhancement is a very general topic, since humans are constantly “enhancing” themselves through the use of tools. In referring to human enhancement, I am referring specifically to the use of genetic intervention prior to birth. Julian Savulescu, in his, “Genetic Interventions and the Ethics of Enhancement of Human Beings,” argues that it is not only permissible to intervene genetically, but is a morally obligatory. In this paper, I will argue that it is not morally obligatory to intervene genetically even if such intervention may be permissible under certain criteria. I will show, in contrast to Savulescu’s view, that the moral obligation to intervene is not the same as the moral obligation to prevent and treat disease. In short, I will show that the ability of humans to intervene genetically is not sufficient to establish a moral obligation.
According to Business Ethics Definition, business policies and practices regarding potentially controversial issues, such as corporate governance, insider trading, bribery, discrimination, corporate social responsibility and fiduciary responsibilities.
"Bioethics" has been used in the last 21 years to describe the investigation and study of ways in which advance in medicine and science impact upon our health, lives, society and environment. These days when technology advancement allowed scientist to conduct test which may have “uncertain” consequences like Cloning. Establishing and implementing a strategic approach to improving organizational ethics is based on establishing, communicating, and monitoring ethical values and legal requirements that characterize the firm's history, culture, and operating environment” (p. 129). Ethics programs ensure satisfactory relationships with all stakeholders by aligning with all of their demands and needs, and determine conduct with customers and relationships with regulators, shareholders, suppliers, and employees (Ferrell, 2004). Values are a core set of beliefs and principles, one or many. A number of factors contribute to the development of values. The case of Dr. Lowell and Mrs. Jackson revolves around a conflict between the doctor, who advocates the implementation of a particular treatment and the patient who disagrees with the doctor and wishes to do things her own way. The doctor feels that the suggested course of action is disastrous and threatens to have the patient declared mentally incompetent. The question now is whether or not the doctor is morally justified in taking action against the patient in order to implement the course of treatment she feels would be most effective. Is this an infringement on the autonomy of the patient or is the doctor morally obliged to do everything that he/she can possible do in order to restore the patient’s health even if that includes to go so far as to take this decision out of the hands of the patient?
Business ethics are a set of moral rules that govern how a business operates, how people should be treated within an organization, and how business decisions are made. They are a crucial part of employment and in managing a sustainable business, mainly because of the serious consequences that can result from decisions made with a lack of regard to ethics. Even if you don’t believe that good ethics don’t contribute to profit levels, you should realize those poor ethics have a negative effect on your bottom line in the long-run. Every business in every industry has certain guidelines to which its employees must stick to, and regularly outline such aspects in employee handbooks.
However, the selection of an appropriate business model reflects ethical practice that yields to ethical considerations could benefit from a Christian worldview into their business practice perspective. “Someone with a Christian understanding of the unconditional value of life, cannot be careless in the workplace about products and quality-standards that pose a threat to the lives of consumers or employees. Neither can someone who believes that humans have the responsibility to cultivate and protect nature, be careless about pollution and ozone- depletion. In the same way, someone with a conviction that special care should be taken of the unfortunate in society, cannot be unconcerned about employment practices that cause hardships for employees in their old age (Kim et al.,2009).” Employees that share Christian worldview may add to the efficiency of a business’s operations.
Ethics is simply doing the right thing. In the business situation ethics are the moral concept of a firm getting through it organizational duties ethically.
