1. Describe the study. Be specific and thorough. Describe what you did as a subject in the study.
The purpose of the study was to look at the Dark Triad of personality, and preference for parenting skills in a prospective partner. I am participant that completed personality questionnaires assessing the dark triad and self-objectification.
2. Describe what you think the study was about. What are the psychologists trying to prove or find out through the study. What do you think the "hypothesis" was?
The Dark Triad (i.e., Machiavellianism, Narcissism, and Psychopathy) is a constellation of seemingly adverse personality traits, characterized by manipulativeness and selfishness. In this study, I think, they wanted to look at how these personality

Do you think the psychologists are getting a representative sample? Does it matter in this case?
I don’t think they are getting a representative sample but somehow there’s a relationship between dark triad and difference in parent-child relationship quality.
4. Which of the four "goals" of psychology does this study seem to be trying to achieve? What is your reason for this?
I think this study trying to achieve the goal of “To Predict”. They are predicting how the sample think and act and related to dark triad personality. Once we understand why it happen and what happens, we can make the information/data to make prediction about how it might happen again in the future.
I understand that prediction can also allow our psychologists to make guesses about human personality/behavior without understanding the mechanisms underlying the human personality.
5. What is your overall evaluation of this research study? Good? Bad? Why? Given what Chapter 1 says about ethics in psychological research, do you think this research is ethical? Why or why not? Does it seem to violate any of the ethical guidelines mentioned toward the end of the chapter? Is the method of research used appropriate for the research
Some of the most important information about psychopathy is that it is a personality disorder. These people are usually charming the way into people’s life to use and manipulate them to get what they want. These people do not have a soul of remorse for what they do because all they care about is themselves and what they can get from others. When these people using their charm they ma...
CHAPTER II METHODS Participants Forty members of a Research Methods in Psychology course at the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) served as participants in this examination. These participants were recruited within their respective laboratory periods. No money was awarded to the subjects for their participation.

Psychiatrist John Macdonald reflected this on his study of 100 patients who had aggressive behavior to kill others. His study was officially known as the Macdonald Triad. The triad focused on three characteristics a child has will create an aggressive individual in the future. The first characteristic was enuresis, or bed-wetting past the age of twelve years old, then fire-setting or pyromania, and finally cruelty and abuse towards animals. Two of these characteristics were proven for the individual to have abusive and aggressive behavior. These behaviors were usually led by abuse and neglect by adults. Although Macdonald originally proposed the thought that these characteristics can help spot serial killers early on, psychiatrists Hellman and Blackman de-bunked the theory illustrating with their own study that there was no correlation between the triads and serial killers but also proving that the child who has these characteristics will have poor coping mechanisms and will have aggressive behavior that could lead to serial

The scientific method is how psychologists gain knowledge about the mind and behavior. It is used by all scientists. The experimental method is the one way to engage the scientific method, and the only way to find a cause and effect in relationships. It is summarized in five steps, observing some phenomenon in the world, forming a hypothesis which is an educated prediction about relationships between two or more variables, examining the gathered information by using empirical research, determining what the results are and drawing them, and evaluating the results whether it will support the hypothesis or not. Researchers, at the end, submit their work for publication for all to see and read (King, 2016). There are three types of psychological research in the scientific method, descriptive research, correlation, and experimental research (King, 2016). The article The Effects of Negative Body Talk in an Ethnically Diverse Sample of College Students (Katrevich, Register, & Aruguete, 2014) is an example of the experimental method.
Describe the differences in the results between the groups in the study and support your description with examples from the study
This research paper with discuss how an inherently “good” person can under the right circumstances turn “evil” and the psychological effects behind the change. To understand how a person can cross the proverbial line from good to evil; evil itself must be given a definition. The word evil has been an overarching term to describe anything from biblical aspects to natural disasters, even to describe the human condition. For this paper the human aspect of evil will be solely focused on. Oxford dictionary describes evil as “profoundly immoral and malevolent.” To understand this further the philosopher Peter Dews Author of “The idea of Evil” writes “Basic notions of offence and punishment, of transgression and forgiveness, seem to lose their grip in the face of profound, far reaching desecrations of the human. For those kinds of crimes, “evil” is still the only word we’ve got.” (12) Through this research paper Ethics of these experiments will not be discussed. Each of these experiments in present day are considered unethical however, they served their purpose in finding what psychological aspects contribute to evil in a given individual.
Within the target site of the experiment, researchers wanted to answer their hypothesis; hypothesis was that increased police

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind, brain, and behavior. In psychology, and all of the other sciences, relying on opinions is abandoned in order to find out which explanations best fit the evidence or data given. Science continually forces us to question our findings and conclusions. Over time, psychology has advanced greatly and a main reason for such progressiveness is because of the change in the research model used.

Effective communication in an organization is one of the components of its success. Managers are charged with navigating communication obstacles while making every effort to harness its benefits. This onus placed on managers is compounded by organizational advancements and the application of new technologies. One relatively new organizational technology being applied is the use of social media. Social media creates communication issues yet conversely alleviates specific communication barriers by playing several roles within organizations today.
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Manifesting the worst of all worlds in the realm of personality lies the Dark Triad that is subject to imperial distinction albeit overlapping each other. Despite distinguished differences—narcissism or having a grandiose view of oneself, Machiavellianism as the art of being deceptive to get ahead, and psychopathy that is being considered as the social reinforcer to adhere on committing immorality—integrates into a character that exhibits selfishness, emotional coldness, duplicity, and manipulation (Furnham, Richards, & Paulhus, 2013; Paulhus, 2014; Paulhus & Williams, 2002). Concurrently, the Dark Triad of Personality possesses a firm binding force toward interpersonal behaviors with obtaining power over people
Like any other science, psychology is concerned with theories and data. Psychologists use a wide range of research methods and techniques that allow them to gather and make sense of the data that they produce. The methods that psychologists use to research and analyse the experience and behaviours of individuals or groups are called psychological research methods. This essay will be investigating and analysing three research methods to include; experimental, observational and surveys, also, reflecting on their strengths and weaknesses of each in addition to their usefulness in the psychology field.
