The Dark Knight (2008) directed by Christopher Nolan with cinematography by Wally Pfister is a modern take on the classic comic that captures your full attention. Batman takes on his biggest challenge yet as the Joker runs around Gotham leaving chaos in his wake. Faced with his most intense adversity, the fate of many people is in his hands. I would recommend The Dark Knight because Batman is not your average superhero, the acting and set are top notch, and the underlying subplot is in depth.

Most superheroes seem to have a glamourous life. They have a good job, a beautiful girlfriend, and the whole city loves them. With Batman that's not the case. Bruce Wayne has a good job but the woman he's in love with, Rachel Dawes, is in love with another man. The man who the city loves. Batman is a wanted vigilante in Gotham City. While he's the hero of the night, Harvey Dent is Gotham’s hero of the day. Christian Bale portrays the classic character in a whole new way. …show more content…

The feeling of the movie seemed all the more real because of this. You didn't feel like you were watching a sound stage. Not only was the set extremely well done but the acting was too. Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker was phenomenal. He stepped into the Joker’s mind really well. He gave the audience no evidence as to who the Joker really was. This movie may be the real test to Batman’s motives and morals, and there's no better way to do that than putting him up against the
