The Cracked Cookie It was a lovely day in Los Angeles, California, a peaceful family enjoying their stay at a nearby hotel. The family consisted of 2 children. There names were Kyle and Frank. Kyle was the youngest of the family he loved to adventure around. While Frank the oldest of the two brothers was despicable, and enjoyed teasing his little brother. The parents had decided to go to Chinatown to find a restaurant to eat at. It was noon, so the traffic and people were crowded like a herd of buffalo. The sky filled with puffy while cottons with a temperature of 72 degrees fahrenheit; perfect for a swim at a nearby beach. Kyle, Frank, and their parents arrived in Chinatown. They searched around for places to eat. Luckily they have found one. The restaurant was called, “The FORtune Teller.” The name subsequently surprised Kyle since he believed everything he sees. The children played tag and ran across the building to find out the manager was looking at them suspiciously. The parents yelled, “Hey, get back in YOUR SEATS!,” startling the 2 boys they wandered back. The food has arrived and they quickly grabbed the fork and chomped on the food as fast as they can, so the boys could get to the fortune cookies. Madelyn McQueen - Twin Falls Idaho Have you ever wondered how the delicious, classic treat came to be? Well, any event you can think of after the date of 1938, the cookie was bound to be there. Several stories about how the country’s favorite baked good came to be, have been spread and believed by thousands. Another story is said that the vibrations from an industrial mixer caused chocolate stored on a shelf in the Toll House kitchen to fall into a bowl of cookie dough as it was being mixed. Sadly, all of these stories are false, says Carolyn Wyman in her recently published “Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.” In her book, Wyman offers a more believable version of how the cookie came to be. Wyman argues, that Ruth Wakefield, who had a degree in household arts and a reputation for perfectionism, would not have allowed her restaurant, which was famed for its desserts, to run out of such

Although Happy grows up to become more financially successful than his older brother, he lacks even a spark of self-knowledge or capacity for self-analysis.
