To be, or Not to Be the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie The delicious smell of chocolate chip cookies is known to everyone across the nation. Americans thrive on deserts and chocolate chip cookies happen to be one of the many favorites. As there are many different types of deserts, there are also many different brands of chocolate chip cookies. Most Americans have their own preferences about which chocolate chip cookie they consider the best. I made it my goal to go out an find the best chocolate chip cookie by surveying people and testing three popular brands of cookies for flavor, chewiness, and appearance. The three chocolate chip cookie brands tested were Chips Ahoy!, Keebler’s Original Soft Batch, and Cub Foods brand. The three brands were rated on a scale from one to three (three being the best, one the worst) on their flavor, chewiness, and appearance. To score a three on flavor the cookie had to taste delicious and melt in your mouth like ice cream outside on a hot summer day. To score a three on chewiness, it had to be very soft like dough and take a long time to finish. Finally, to rate a three on appearance the cookie had to be very appealing to the taste tester and look delicious to eat. The brand of cookies that scored the highest in each category, I crowned the best chocolate chip cookie in America. As everyone knows in order to be the best cookie, the cookie has to have amazing flavor. I asked my family members to volunteer and taste test each brand of cookies and rate them on a scale from one to three for their flavor. My family members ate each cookie and checked off which brand they preferred. The results show the brand of cookie with the best flavor was Keebler’s Original Soft Batch. Taste testers enjoyed the rich and smooth chocolate in the cookie. The cookie with the second best flavor was Chips Ahoy! brand cookies. Taste testers liked this cookies similarity to cookie dough, but did not enjoy the flavor as much as Keebler’s Original Soft Batch. The cookie with the worst flavor was the Cub Foods brand cookies because their taste was fake and stale. After looking at these results I found Americans prefer the flavor of Keebler’s Original Soft Batch cookies to have the best taste. Another key ingredient in the best cookie has to be the chewiness.
The Famous Amos cookies sold $300,000 the first year in the business. The very next year he sold $1,000,000 in sales the following year afterward. By 1982 the cookies had earned at least 12 million dollars. The cookies were such a success they were eventually sold in supermarkets across the United States. They eventually went into places like TGI Fridays, Baskin-Robins, and Starbucks. Eventually all good business must come to an end because in 1985, Wally Amos sold the company to the Shansby Group. Though it wasn’t his company still, Wally still was a spokesperson for the company for a year before quitting because of frustration. The company was eventually sold to many companies including President Baker and Keebler. Even though his business didn’t fall through he still didn’t quit. Eventually Amos created another company called Chip and Cookie. The new cookies are slightly different from the Kellogg version or variation and is only ran by Wally himself.
Many of people have tasted chocolate chip cookies, but many don’t know how it’s sweet taste was discovered. In 1928 Ruth Wakefield made a delicious discovery. One day, she was baking a batch of her butter
Market research and information about the industry is very important to the organization because it will allow the organization to position itself well in terms of sourcing chocolate raw materials and in identifying the market for its products. For example, understanding that some chocolate product purchases are seasonal, e.g., at Christmas; around Mother’s Day; and, on Valentine’s Day, allows the organization to have more product on hand and to create displays, in store, that will increase purchases and attract more customers when existing customers tell their friends about the availability of high end products, at reasonable prices, in their store.

As many people know in todays world there are two of just about everything. There are the original item and the “knock off,” brand or item. One widely known knock off brand would be Great Value. With food there are a lot of things that have two sides, one being Hot Cheetos. Some people say that the knock brand is always better or eventhe same but some people beg to differ.
Skittles, M and M, and Starburst are three comparable candies that use commercials as their advertising medium. Their purpose is to make their product appear to be the most delicious candy on the market. All three commercials use similar, yet different styles to demonstrate the flavor of their product. These styles are intended to capture the appeal of their target market as well as their taste buds. After comparing these commercials, the most appealing candy should stand out.

One thousand boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Every year the reward changes, a cool set of speakers, a laptop, an iPad, a gaming system, or cookie credits, large quantities of rewards points usable only within Girl Scouts. Since Kindergarten selling one thousand boxes of cookies has been my goal. A lofty achievement for a high school senior, never mind a five year old. The closest I have gotten was in sixth grade when I sold a little over 650 boxes. I was out every day after school and all day most weekends during the cookie season. From January to March I went door to door on foot through half empty neighborhoods on Martha's Vineyard. I had booth sales in the places with the greatest intensity of pedestrian and bicycle traffic. I went to the

In order to be effective, the company needs to honestly evaluate their current position within the market. Had Kraft completed and effective SWOT analysis, they would have likely realized that while they have a strength in distribution, manufacturing, and marketing, one of their singular weaknesses outweighed those positives. The main weakness facing Kraft in both China and India, was the simple fact that the consumers in that market simply did not like the taste of the cookie, and in China, the consumers were never known to be avid cookie eaters (Jain, Jose, & Koellmann, 2013). This miscalculation on the part of Kraft, nearly tanked the rollout of the

Abby Willow once said, “The average American adult consumes 11.7 pounds of chocolate every year- that's the weight of about 6 pairs of shoes!” With so much consumption of chocolate by Americans, it is crucial for the numerous brands to advertise their products in a manner that could potentially dominate their competition in sales. There are endless ways for a company to draw the attention of an audience in order to take over the competition of chocolate sales. Advertising is a key aspect as to how successful a brand may be when compared side-by-side to a similar product. While Snickers and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are similar, they are also different; the differences are significant because they demonstrate how some competitors choose to go above and beyond for their advertising while others opt to take a route that is of a more simplistic nature.
The Theobroma cacao tree is where it all started. Olmecs, Aztecs, and Mayans were the original consumers of cocoa: they would form it into a drink and ingest it for medicinal reasons (Allen Par. 7). The Spanish then brought it back to Europe and continued to treat a variety of ailments with it (Allen Par. 7). In the last 40 years people have started to question the health benefits of chocolate, but new research is starting to prove that the Olmecs, Aztecs, Mayans and Spaniards were not too far off. Now, the pods from the tree containing cocoa beans are collected, and the cocoa beans are taken out of the pod (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). The beans are then fermented, dried, roasted, then ground to make cocoa liquor (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). The cocoa liquor is then combined with sugar, vanilla, and cocoa butter to make what is now known as chocolate (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). Controversy over the health benefits and detriments of chocolate is slowly subsiding, but there are many things that a lot of people still do not know about how chocolate can affect ones health. Chocolate is misunderstood.
There is nothing any better than a good piece of chocolate. Its rich, its creamy, its smooth, and it makes us feel so-o-o-o good for a few moments of course, that is; until the guilt of the calories kick in. Chocolate happens to be one of my favorite sweets. The wonderful creamy milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, white chocolate, or even my personal favorite a silky dark chocolate, the choices are hard. I sat down this weekend to really think about, and compare the differences. I compared my two favorite types of chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is usually paired with nuggets, nuts, creams or caramels, but the dark chocolate is best with a wine such as a Muscat Canelli. Either makes a great desert, treat, or snack for anyone.
