Before the Industrial Revolution, most manufactured products were made individually by hand, which required many skillful craftsmen to create each part of a product. They would use their skills and tools to create the individual parts. Then they would assemble them into the final product, making cut-and-try changes in the parts until they fit and could work together. As a result for fitting to work together, craftsmen had to spend several days even months to change the parts so that the parts could be assembled in a whole product. This can result in a large amount of capital being tied up for a substantial amount of time until a factory becomes profitable. The assemble line is still the most significant technological advancement in the 20th century.Production using assembly lines did away with many of the disadvantages of earlier methods. There are 3 vital factors resulting the assemble line into great success. First of all, there is no special training required in the assemble line ,which means there are jobs that almost anyone can do. Before the assemble line was invented, people who worked in a group had to wait for someone who can not hand in his part of work on time. Assembly line production can also suffer from personnel issues due to the monotony of the work. In craft or job production, a worker is typically responsible for the creation of an entire product and may be called upon to use a variety of different skills. Many assembly lines are so segmented that each worker is expected to perform a single task over and over again, which may result in motivational issues. For example, in Foxconn’s factory, labor and sleeping almost became the majority of workers’ live. There is only half an hour for the workers from waiting in the queue to eating lunch.
