I lived in a beautiful paradise for about 6 years, full of excitement, love, and friends. Everyone around me was all kind and caring. They have given me tools to grow by nurturing me in an unstoppable manner. The time has come where I finally start seeking for independence. I mean, I’m only 10-years-old but it is natural for people like me to want to feel some sort of independence. I do not re-call having my parents around me. I grew up in a place full of children like me where they try to give us, kids, like candies. We are like the candy shop in town but for adult couples. It’s called “adoooooopshu-o..en..pla…c..e?” I don’t know what this place is called, I cannot even pronounce it. All I know is that it sounds complicated. People around this place although kind and caring are usually strict about children getting out of the premises. They watch us like dragons trying to protect the princess at the highest tower. In this case, however, there are no towers, no princesses, and no dragons. They might look like dragons but mind you, they cannot spit out those cool flaming fires that dragons do! But in my opinion, they truly look like dragons, and their breath smells like dragons whenever they are mad and yelling at us, innocent children. I finally couldn’t take feeling imprisoned any longer. So I finally begged this lady that worked at our candy shop to let me play outside the premises. Not so surprisingly, she said no. But I knew that there will be a big event tomorrow. It’s kind of like auctioning some candies, except for kids who want to be sheltered. So I thoroughly made an effective escape plan just for tomorrow. I patted myself in the back and silently praise myself due to the clever plan that I just made. ... ... middle of paper ... ...been searching for all along. I finally feel complete after 6 years in purgatory. I started crying out of relief and enjoyment. “I can finally rest”, I blissfully uttered. I rigidly stood there in awe, realizing, I was the lost soul, lingering in a place where memories and dreams were shattered. I was imprisoned by my unpleasant thoughts and painful memories. My claustrophobic mind, body and soul were finally free. I am now free from agony, pain, and anger. A beam of light shine upon me, as I slowly get lifted up above and finally be able to go to the place filled with happiness and tranquility called heaven. Sometimes the answers to our questions are just right around the corner. Sometimes, we just have to keep searching for our answers with an open heart ready for the truth to unveil, and ready for ourselves to freely soar-up high.
The primary problem would be the structure of the organization. This is due to the fact that there are thirteen departments in total which would lead to the failure of the ability to concentrate on long term viability of the business.

Parents want what is best for their children, but sometimes they expect too much and children can feel trapped. The only way kids feel they can escape from the pressure is to gain independence through rebelling. The short story “Brother Dear”, by Bernice Friesen suggests the idea that when individuals pursue independence by rebelling against expectations set out for them, they can become estranged from loved ones and feel like they have let them down; however, despite the pressure an individual may feel they can often remain optimistic about their situation. Greg grows up with a lot of pressure from his family to do well in life, the only way he feels he can escape this pressure is rebelling against what they want.
Socrates once said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” He questioned the very nature of why things were the way they were, while never settling for simple, mundane answers. Socrates would rather die searching for the truth than live accepting what he considered a blatant lie. I like to think of myself the same way. I too would rather examine the wonders of life rather than accept what I am just told. The truth is some can’t handle the truth. I on the other hand welcome it with earnest anticipation and fervent enthusiasm.

In 1945, Sam Walton opened his first variety store and in 1962, he opened his first Wal-Mart Discount City in Rogers, Arkansas. Now, Wal-Mart is expected to exceed “$200 billion a year in sales by 2002 (with current figures of) more than 100 million shoppers a week…(and as of 1999) it became the first (private-sector) company in the world to have more than one million employees.” Why? One reason is that Wal-Mart has continued “to lead the way in adopting cutting-edge technology to track how people shop, and to buy and deliver goods more efficiently and cheaply than any other rival.” Many examples exist throughout Wal-Mart’s history including its use of networks, satellite communication, UPC/barcode adoption and more. Much of the technology that was utilized helped Sam Walton more efficiently track what he originally noted on yellow legal pads. From the very beginning, he wanted to know what the customers purchased, what inventory was selling and what stock was not selling. Wal-Mart now “tracks on an almost instantaneous basis the ordering, shipment, and delivery of literally every item it sells, and that it requires its suppliers to hook into the system, enabling it to track most goods every step of the way from the time they’re made and packaged in the factories to when they’re carried out store doors by shoppers.” “Wal-Mart operates the world’s most powerful corporate computing system, with a capacity (as of late 1999) of more than 100 terabytes of data (A terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes, or roughly the equivalent of 250 million pages of text.).
It was a cold autumn night in North Carolina when I realized that my youth was being taken away from me. I wanted to run away and go back to the life that I had known; where I had the opportunity to go to school was happy and understood the language. Instead I was in a foreign land with my family and we could not return for there was no future in my homeland. According to my father, we had to keep migrating because it was the best thing for our family. It was then when I realized that this is not what I wanted for my family and I asked my father that we needed to go somewhere where I can go to school because it was affecting everybody including my little brother. My father raised me to believe I could accomplish anything I set my mind to it. So I decided to work hard and enroll in school so I can become educated. It was a difficult journey because I wasn’t sure which route my life would take since migrating every couple of months was not uncommon.

The other day I walked into the supermarket to buy a box of Kleenex. I was faced with a variety of colors, textures, box designs, and even the option of aloe. All these features designed for a product to blow my nose into! Selection wasn't limited to the Kleenex section, either…I found abundance in every aisle. We seem to always want more - more choices, more variety, more time. In fact, even the word "supermarket" implies a desire for more than just a simple market.
