The Foundation distinguishes itself from other non-profits by its
approach and emphasis in creating "soft infrastructure" to capture and
systematize the knowledge processes that go into design and
implementation of our rural initiatives. Methods and practices are
designed and perfected using need identification, well thought through
solutions and measured experience. In the larger framework, this
creates knowledge processes that can be replicated and scaled up
minimal customization.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating breast cancer, suffered a PR disaster four years ago and has yet to recover from the bad press of this unpopular decision. In 2012, the Susan G. Komen Foundation decided to end their financial support of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of family reproductive services (including abortion). This action resulted in an immediate public backlash and ignited a fierce political debate. In the middle of this controversy, the New York Times published an article in which women who had previously participated in the Susan G. Komen cancer walk were asked their opinion of the decision to cut Planned Parenthood funding. Sarah Robertson, who completed the 39.3-mile walk last year stated “I personally wouldn’t walk for Komen,” citing the

Community-based organizations that are funded by governments in partnerships deliver these social services all over the country. While social needs are rising, the money coming into the nonprofits are not increasing. Therefore, it is important to find innovative ways to cut down the social needs or demand or increase the donor support to help the economically disadvantaged individuals in our community. Changing the way business is done at ImprovedLives will help effectively delivery of the services that will cut down the social needs of our clients and make the organization a model nonprofit for other social services organizations. However, there are certain risks associated with coming up with innovative goals as innovation in its nature is experimental. Consequently, mismanaging these risks can easily lead to breaching the ethical code for nonprofits (NOHS, 2015) and legal regulations relating to tax and misappropriation of
Having a wish fulfilled is a desire everyone keeps, but granting one is a special characteristic of a chosen few. Such is the ideology of the Make a wish foundation. This simple, but powerful belief is what drives the Make-A-Wish foundation. For children who must face the uncertainty of a tomorrow, due to their rapidly deteriorating health, a wish is more than just a desire. It’s a hope. Hope is what carries us out of the darkest of slums, to keep going. To face a tomorrow. Make-A-Wish is committed to granting the wish of every eligible child. They do this believing that wishes can make sick children feel better, and sometimes, when they feel better, they get better. Since the spring of 1980, they have been granting the wishes of children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical conditions. The make a wish foundation has the ability to not only unite a society as whole and further the awareness of life threatening illnesses, but also gives hope to individuals and a community as a whole.
This is discussion, I will explain a personal experience of a nonprofit organization’s board. Secondly, I will provide an analysis of what I foresee for the future of a nonprofit governing board of a nonprofit organization. I will explain if I anticipate greater demands for boards and the board members to be more accountable. Finally, I will explain my perspective and defend it with evidence from the field.

As a massive provider of consumer goods in India, Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), is attempting to penetrate the rural markets where there is a massive opportunity for growth. HLL’s current operating sectors are becoming increasingly competitive and crowded. Their best opportunities now lie in developing new markets and rising to the top of that market. They are attempting to do this with a program for developing entrepreneurs, named Shaktis. Met with initial success the program now needs to grow without increasing costs.
The team/matrix structure within this organic model clearly creates product innovation, job satisfaction, across the board high profits and lower costs. This is a result of the organic model with a team/matrix structure influenced by their innovation strategy.
Bhargava is working on inventions that can improve global suffering. These innovations could provide safe drinking water, healthcare, and energy access. Bhargava explained his inventions in a forty-two minute film called Billions in Change. Bharagava states in his film, “The title of the film doesn’t refer to billions of dollars. It means that people working together will have a significant effect on billions of lives (Tom Walsh, 2015).” Bharagava has a genuine desire to see individuals participating, playing a bigger role, and working together to change poor countries’ statuses. Walsh continues to express how important improvements in undeveloped countries would be for entire world, “The inventions that really matter to our future are the ones that will help the poorer half of the world” (Tom Walsh, 2015). Technology has transcended through time and continues to impact people’s lives, but the underdeveloped world is still struggling to have access to basic technologies. The documentary displays the inventions that Bhargava created to reduce pollution, diminish energy poverty, advance medical technology, and produce cleaner water in undeveloped countries. Recognition does not reduce crime rates or increase food productions, it takes action. Bhargava states at the beginning of the film, “ If you have wealth, it’s a duty to help those who don’t” (Tom Wash, 2015). Before the film, he donated to a few hospitals in India;

India’s rural Bottom of Pyramid (BoP) market, which consists of approximately 700 million people, presents itself as a significant business opportunity with multinational corporations as well as for small and medium manufacturers and producers. While the revenue opportunity in this market has been predicted to be at almost the same levels as that of urban markets, success in this segment has remained more or less elusive, due to the prevalence of several BoP issues
When I consider an organization that provides many opportunities for Co-op students to develop professional growth and network with senior management, Manulife Financial comes to mind. After listening to what students are saying about working at Manulife/John Hancock, it does not seem to be that typical insurance company, rather it is way more than that, a place where I can advance my skills so that after graduation, I am better prepared to enter the workforce. The opportunity to now be a part of all of that is almost surreal, though my passion, knowledge in business operations and experience with technology and customer service make me confident that I am the ideal fit for your team.
I believe that I should be the frontrunner to win the CNB Bank Scholarship because of my work ethic with at my education as well as my past and current accomplishments. To start, I feel that the recipient of the CNB Bank Scholarship should display persistent work ethic. Throughout my four years at Bradford Area High School I have accomplished many achievements. During my education it is to my knowledge that I have never missed an assignment deadline. I feel that this credits the effort I put into my education. I managed to meet these deadlines while juggling two different jobs. The person to win the CNB Bank Scholarship should be someone who represents their community and their selves accordingly. From the time that I walked into kindergarten to now I am still yet to be disciplined in school, whether it is for academic or behavioral reasons. When speaking about the community, I have donated numerous personal hours to help charities raise money. In
An opportunity for this immense amount is not given every day. I am the first generation to ever go to college and to be born in the United States. I would love to receive this opportunity and make my family proud. I have been academically and personally challenged throughout my high school career. I consider this opening of academic accomplishment to myself and my community. If I receive the POSSE Foundation scholarship is a way for me to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have made for me and my brothers. I want to show them that when they came to the United States was not a lost cause and have succeeded their goal for their children to receive advanced education. My culture values collegiate learning preciously and immensely. I
