The building process of the pyramid began with quarrying. Much information still has to be discovered about this step. However, evidence has been found that copper chisels were used for quarrying. Harder materials such as Dolerite were used to quarry granite and other hard rocks.
Roughly quarried granite needed to be cut into blocks. To find out how this was done, a British Egyptologist by the name of Denys Stocks performed experiments. His results showed that pouring quartz sand between the cutting edge of a tool and the rock gave the bite the toll needed to cut the rock, as a plain copper chisel would wear out if trying to cut granite. A theory was made that sand was substituted for the quartz sand in order to cut the rock into blocks.
The types of materials used for the building process were very specifically chosen. Limestone and granite were the main types of rock used. Limestone formed in great quantities in Egypt. Local limestone was used in the core while a finer quality of limestone was used on the exterior of the pyramid. Granite was used on a very grand scale, often for the inner walls. Stone was suitable for building only if it was healthy stone in natural condition with no breakage or cracks. Fire, heat, or cold were not used on the rock as they would produce fractures.

The Ascending Passage connects to the Grand Gallery at the entrance to a room called Queen’s Chamber, a room finished with limestone and a room with a gabled ceiling. It states on www.europa.com, “The Grand Gallery also connects with a much larger room finished in highly polished granite having a flat ceiling known as the King's Chamber. The King's Chamber, 17 by 34 ft. by about 19 ft. high, is covered by five layers of large, 70-ton stone beams, each one the equivalent weight of a modern railroad locomotive!” A crawling space called the Well Shaft connects the lower Grand Gallery with the lower Descending Passage.

A pyramid is an Egyptian structure and are as old as 40,000 years old. A pyramids base can either be triangular or square this affects how many sides the pyramid has. These structures were usually made out of huge limestone blocks. The Egyptian pyramids were built using ramps which spiraled around the pyramid. This pyramid is large and has alot of terraces. This pyramid also contains deep stone stairs. It's thought that this pyramid was used for storage, mostly valuable items. Also, people thought that this pyramid was used sometimes for a home of rulers of the land.
Archeologists suggest that the large stones used in building the pyramids were transported by rolling them over logs or a wet, slippery, clay surface. These methods may have been effective in moving the blocks close to the building site, but do not explain how the massive bricks, weighing as much as a Ford F250 truck, were lifted on top of each other.
Of the three theories on how the Great Pyramid was built, in descending order of acceptability, the most suitable theory is Clifford Wilson’s followed by Joseph Davidovits’ and Erich Von Däniken’s argument. Clifford Wilson’s theory is the best because he illustrates how the pyramids were built and provides the evidence to prove his theory, however; this is unlike Joseph Davidovits’ theory because Davidovits does not fully answer questions that arise concerning his theory. The three theories have similar points, but contain very different ideas on the construction of the Great Pyramid. This is obvious in Clifford Wilson’s argument where he is repeatedly disproving Von Däniken’s theory that the “gods” created the pyramids, whereas in Davidovits theory the pyramids were simply casted by means of chemically mixing Natron, aluminum and silicon to produce artificial rock. These three individuals express different ideas on the building of the building of the Great Pyramid.

Today I’ve discussed three things about The Great Pyramid of Giza. First I started off with stating how significant it is, how long it took to finish constructing the pyramids, and describing its physical appearance.
A few pyramids still stand today, and are great attractions for tourists. The pyramids were built by taking blocks of granite to the workshop, measuring the blocks down to size, shaping the blocks, and placing the blocks into the body of the pyramid. The core of the structure is now completed. Then, you place the limestone blocks on the top of the structure (they started putting the blocks on top and then worked their way down). They left two empty rooms to place the pharaoh and his belongings in. They sealed the pyramids so well, it took four hundred years for two robbers to figure out how to get in. Free citizens, drafted for public work, not by slaves of any sort, built the pyramids. Four thousand expert stone sculptors built the pyramids all year round. An extra work group of about ninety-five thousand men worked on the pyramids during the four-month period of the inundation (the time of enforced idleness for farmers, since the field were covered with the Nile water flood). The pyramids were built between the year 1600 B.C. and the year 2700.
Soon enough Egyptians came up with the Great pyramid, which was bigger than step pyramids and mastabas. The Great pyramids were built for emperors and kings. They were located in the flat desert sands at the Giza and they were built around 2584 BC. The tall pyramids did not stand alone in the desert. They were surrounded by an assortment of lesser buildings, including small pyramids, mastabas and temples.
The Great pyramids of Egypt are undoubtedly one of the most recognized and admired landmarks in the world. Built to pay tribute to gods and pharaohs, the pyramids were of great importance to the Egyptians, and the mystery of their construction continues to amaze us today. Many theories pertaining to how the pyramids were built have been suggested, however, none are as well supported or intelligible as the heave-ho method of quarrying and cutting limestone. Joseph Davidovits’ theory disproving this, in which states the pyramids were moulded, is not plausible. Substantial physical evidence which is consistent with the Egyptologists’ portrayal of the heave-ho method has been found. The entire process of building a pyramid with this method is possible, as demonstrated by thorough experiments and analysis of the Egyptian culture. Indisputably, the Great Pyramids of Giza were constructed by quarrying limestone, and the use of ramps, sleds, and cutting tools, owing to the ingenuity and strength of highly organized Egyptian workers.
When one travels to Egypt, what does he/she see - pyramid after temple after tomb, each standing the test of time. One stands out - they are all associated with religious beliefs, they all have stood unmoving for thousands of years, and they all involve mechanical genius- the moving of colossal stones without the use of the wheel. The finest example such mechanics is shown in the construction of the revered pyramid. These three factors, all belonging to the religious architecture of ancient Egypt, do nothing else but prove its greatness.

Of all the pyramids of Egypt, the first three are held in the highest regards. This is known as the Great Pyramid. It was built for the Pharaoh Khufu. The Great Pyramid is about 450 feet tall and covers about 13 acres. The subject of this pyramid was to honor the pharaoh and show him some respect. It took about 100,000 workers and 20 years to build the pyramid.
The most famous are the three great pyramid tombs at Giza, which was built by three successive Fouth-Dynasty kings.
