Today I am going to prove to you, that the Egyptians were an advanced technological civilization compared even to today's standards, by their mind blowing feats of engineering and their extensive knowledge and use of electricity.
Body I The construction of the Great Pyramid is still a mystery and marvel to this day, there are seven major feats that archeologists still don’t understand. First, they carried 130 granite blocks over 500 miles, each block weighed between 12 and 70 tons. Second, the Great Pyramid contained three chambers. To reach these chambers a tunnel was carved perfectly horizontally straight through the rock. Third, the builders worked with more than 2 million pieces of stone, all of different shapes and sizes. millimeter. Fourth, the position of the Great Pyramid is absolutely precise; it points North within 5/100th of a degree, a feat the only modern engineers learned how to do. Finally, Since the Egyptians didn’t have iron or steel, the Seventh Wonder of the World was built with copper chisels, stone mallets, and hemp ropes. Some have speculated that there was a golden top to the pyramid, since gold is an excellent conductor and there seems to be a missing top to the pyramid. This golden top transferred negative ions to the ionosphere. An identical object was built in modern times; this is known as a Tesla coil. Of the three theories on how the Great Pyramid was built, in descending order of acceptability, the most suitable theory is Clifford Wilson’s followed by Joseph Davidovits’ and Erich Von Däniken’s argument. Clifford Wilson’s theory is the best because he illustrates how the pyramids were built and provides the evidence to prove his theory, however; this is unlike Joseph Davidovits’ theory because Davidovits does not fully answer questions that arise concerning his theory. The three theories have similar points, but contain very different ideas on the construction of the Great Pyramid. This is obvious in Clifford Wilson’s argument where he is repeatedly disproving Von Däniken’s theory that the “gods” created the pyramids, whereas in Davidovits theory the pyramids were simply casted by means of chemically mixing Natron, aluminum and silicon to produce artificial rock. These three individuals express different ideas on the building of the building of the Great Pyramid.

Egyptians had to transport the heavy blocks from the quarries to the building yard and to do that they could have used boats. Specially designed boats where they have to connect the boats by a vertical raft and place the heavy blocks on the raft. The rafts had to be fully balanced otherwise the raft will rollover and the block will sink under the water, also the wind direction and the waves had to be in consideration. According to statistics the boats can carry up to 70 blocks of stones.
Today I’ve discussed three things about The Great Pyramid of Giza. First I started off with stating how significant it is, how long it took to finish constructing the pyramids, and describing its physical appearance.
In the beginning of this chapter it discusses how the pyramids were built, what purpose they served, the three pyramids at Giza, some messages found on the stones that were used to build pyramids, and what a mastabas is. Pyramids are tombs built for Egypt's pharaohs. Pyramids are large structures with four sides that are the shape of a triangle, that meet at the top to form a point. The ancient Egyptians used the pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs and temples for their gods. The pyramids have one or two little temples attached to them, which holds their relatives and servants.

There are three Pyramids of Giza, the first one was commissioned in Ancient Egypt by the Pharaoh Khufu, around the year 2540 BCE. They are located in Giza, Egypt, and take on this name. Standing 488 ft tall, they were once the tallest buildings in the world, for many hundreds of years. The site is one of the most famous worldwide, receiving millions of tourists each year. The Pyramid of Giza is extremely significant because of its enormous scale and the many people needed to construct it, along with the methods used to do so.
During this semester, so far, we have discussed many different periods of cultures and arts in society and the history behind it. I feel that Egypt was one of many that interested me to talk about for a few reasons.
In the third dynasty the egyptians gained more power and wealth. They wanted a way to show off their great power and wealth, so they built pyramids, pyramids were huge pointed stone structures. Pyramids contained rooms full of treasure and secret passageways. The first pyramid was the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, built for King Zoser around 2750 B.C. “The step pyramid was the only one of its kind, it was an amazing improvement from the mastaba.” ( pg 49)
The Great pyramids of Egypt are undoubtedly one of the most recognized and admired landmarks in the world. Built to pay tribute to gods and pharaohs, the pyramids were of great importance to the Egyptians, and the mystery of their construction continues to amaze us today. Many theories pertaining to how the pyramids were built have been suggested, however, none are as well supported or intelligible as the heave-ho method of quarrying and cutting limestone. Joseph Davidovits’ theory disproving this, in which states the pyramids were moulded, is not plausible. Substantial physical evidence which is consistent with the Egyptologists’ portrayal of the heave-ho method has been found. The entire process of building a pyramid with this method is possible, as demonstrated by thorough experiments and analysis of the Egyptian culture. Indisputably, the Great Pyramids of Giza were constructed by quarrying limestone, and the use of ramps, sleds, and cutting tools, owing to the ingenuity and strength of highly organized Egyptian workers.
