Life during the Third Reich was unexpected, you didn't eve know if you'd wake up the next day. This book is about a girl named Liesel; her life seems both chaotic and calm at the same time. At some points in the literature you’d think she would be so overwhelmed by this life-style. Then at other times in the book you’d think she had a perfectly calm and normal life. The Book Thief is a story that teaches a valuable lesson that is true for even a modern teen: the fear of getting in bad situations is the theme of this book.
In The Book Thief, the author uses conflict to teach us that good can come out of bad situations which is this book’s theme. When Ilsa Hermann was yelling at liesel, she saw a vision of her brother and had thought she’d done something wrong Liesel in a way blames the death of her brother on herself. Liesel see’s visions of her brother in difficult situations, he appears and makes liesel think she’s done something wrong. If you're scared of an outcome then you will not be able to move on in the future. Liesel was scared to talk to Ilsa in fear of a bad turnout. If you follow this basis it could hurt your future greatly. Another example could be if you're scared of wrecking your vehicle so you drive 5 miles an hour everywhere you go. On some roads you have a minimum speed limit like on most highways, if you aren’t traveling faster than the minimum speed limit you might receive a ticket. Being scared of an outcome can be a good thing or a bad thing you could be scared to rob a store because the outcome might be getting arrested. Looking back at my past, I haven't always went at some situations head on. I would say I've been passive in some moments of my life when I shouldn't have been.
