The Blacklist episode last Thursday was one of the best in a long time, which was reflected in the higher than normal ratings it received. 'The Director - Part 1' definitely renewed my faith in how incredible The Blacklist could be and and how great both the procedural and serial portions of the show are portrayed in each episode. I have always stated that what makes this series so amazing is how it harmoniously balances those two aspects of its story. Since season 1, episode 1, we have seen Liz's life slowly begin to mimic that of Red's in very subtle ways, but enough to know that there is a definite connection between the two. This past episode is a perfect example as we see Liz escorted to the containment 'Box' inside the Post Office that has held Red several times prior. Seeing her life parallel Red's in recent episodes is a payoff fans have been expecting since we first noticed back in Season One and now I wonder what exactly will happen to Liz next and if she will, in fact, be exonerated of all wrongdoing. This will prove …show more content…
N-A-V-A-B-I - Charlene having an affair with her and Agent Cooper's neighbor was a complete shock to me although it did offer up a solution for their predicament. - Will Ressler be able to prove Hitchin killed Wright? If so, how does he plan on doing that? - Did you notice...There is a reference to another past episode of The Blacklist when Red explains and shows the 'care package' to the foreign minister, Diaz. He explains that he received the contents during the time "General Ludd" (S1E8) was the blacklister. - Aram riding his bike through the cemetery to meet up with Red was hilarious. Alternatively, Red telling Aram to gather his team because it's time to take down the Cabal was awesome. - What does Red want with Venezuela? why does he need them specifically to be on their side? Is it just a hideout or a 'backup' plan in case things don't go according to
First of all, the guards use the box to discipline the prison inmates. The box is a tiny, single person hut in which inmates have to spend a night in if they did not abide by the rules. Any of these rules broken by an inmate will result in a night in the box.
“Untouchables” by Jonathan Kozol goes on a journey to discover the mistreatment of homeless Americans. The story is very well detailed in explaining how society does not accept these individuals and how they are literally “untouchable.” Kozol shows characters and tells stories of how they life got affected by homelessness and the treatment that came along with it. The author also explains how easy it is to be prune to homelessness by making one little mistake. Not only does Kozol show society thoughts about the homeless are bad, but he also shows the homeless people thoughts of how society responds to them being “low class.” In Jonathan Kozol’s short story “Untouchables,” he exhibits this by explaining how they are misunderstood, stereotyped,
This episode is set in a 1960’s American suburb where only one family has prepared for a nuclear threat by building a bomb shelter. The episode shows how people will turn against each other when their lives are on the line as the rest of the families in this neighborhood break down the door to the bomb shelter in order to get in even though it was only built for three people and would no longer work since the door was broken. The fallout shelter is the focus of the episode as it is meant to play on the anxiety of people not having a shelter and what they would do if they didn't have one when doomsday came. The other objects that play an important role during the episode is a radio that is on the CONELRAD station which was a real government station that was used solely to warn of an enemy nuclear attack during the Cold War. They use the radio many times during the episode as it is how they recieve updates on what is going
The PBS Frontline Documentary The Untouchables shined light on the claim that wealthier people in today’s society get off easier when they break the law. During the financial crisis of 2008, it was said that fraud was committed when many mortgage bankers and high-end executives on Wall Street knowingly bought loan portfolios that didn’t meet their policy credit standards. Even with the evidence in place, no one was arrested and held responsible for a stock crash that nearly destroyed the entire financial system of the United States. With a powerful justice system and justifiable evidence in place, no was prosecuted. Did the justice system not take the necessary steps to ensure that justice was served
Muhammad Ali, a famous boxer, once said, “Hating People because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. I’s just plain wrong” (Goodreads, 2015). Secrets within The Blacklist play a huge role given the audience a sense of urgency. Although to some the show is to be just a form of entertainment, but there are others who believe that The Blacklist is a construction or the “Spectacle” ,as Guy Debord would phrase it, in which the ruling class uses spectacles to deceive the public of things that are really in effect in congress to maintain the status quo. The Blacklist shows a lot of gender stereotyping for example, Red is the main character, but has a female “side kick” which is broadcasted to be Red’s daughter Liz. When viewing shows like The Blacklist many viewers do not look at the social standards that are consumed on a day to day basis.
How many shows on television do you know that offer a guilt-free antihero as its protagonist? Well, I certainly cannot think of many, and I believe that is the inaugural case as to why NBC’s The Blacklist has been this Fall’s number one show. The idea behind it is that an ingenious, criminal mastermind for some apparent reason starts to assist the FBI catch the world’s most wanted criminals, some of which they did not know existed. Although I am already a fan of the show, I do think that The Blacklist does borrow much of its premise from USA’s White Collar. I feel Andy Greenwald describes the show best when he says, “It’s a cop procedural with a criminal as the lead investigator.”
Racism comes from different cultural values, ethnic backgrounds and also the physical appearances. The conflict of racism happens when the majority group of society feels that the different cultures and values of the minority group bring the deviance to the society. Race was created socially and primarily by how people perceive ideas and faces we are not quite used to. Racism have been one of the most significant issues that people have been facing and fighting for, and it is still occurring around us without we even notice. First, this paper will discuss about the definition, causes, types, and effects of racism. Second, it will discuss about the solutions to racism. Lastly, it will discuss the importance to reduce racism. Racism is a serious social crisis and it can be solved through several ways such as through individual action, family action, active interaction with the society, government policies, and education.
What constitutes a hate crime? What makes a hate crime different from a crime or are they one in the same. If you believe that there is a different between a hate crime and a crime, then how can we legislate hate crimes fairly and without bias on a consist basis? When it comes to hate crimes their seems to be more questions then answers and there also seems to be a lot of uncertainty within the law itself. Hate crime laws should no longer exist in are justice system because every violent crime involves an element of hate and it is impossible to prove a person’s motive or hate in the court of law.
Discursive Essay on Racism Racism has existed for centuries, but during the last two hundred years hatred toward ethnic minorities or even majorities has fluctuated. Racism occurs all over the world, can happen to anyone and will always exist. There are three different forms of racism, open racism, violent racism and secret racism all express forms of hatred towards ethnic groups. These forms of racism, although different, all have the same main purpose, to promote hate towards ethnic groups. Open racism expresses freedom of racial thought and speech.
Race and crime is a major topic in today’s world because it is a highly debated subject and has a major impact on how society is today. Race and crime go hand in hand. No matter who commits a crime, there is always a race involved. With race and crime there are many stereotypes that come with the subject. Race and crime are both active matters in everyday life. It is everywhere. Social Media involves race and crime in practically anything. If one is active on say for example twitter, the point of twitter is to keep your followers interested by what you are showing them. There is a reason why the news opens up with the most violent crimes and twitter is no different. As a matter of fact any form of media grasps onto it. Another example would

Breaking Bad, one of the most popular television show series, is my favorite of all time to watch. There is suspense, action, and an amazing storyline that always takes unexpected turns, which is why I chose to write my paper on this television series. Watching Walter White transition into something so unexpected is what makes this television series a thrill and a joy to watch.
Racism is a huge social problem in the world today. Many races today are being discriminated for being a certain race. Racism has been a social problem for a quite long time now, and it is still a social problem. The vast majority are being discriminated because of a certain group of a race, or person, done something that was awful, but this does not mean the whole race is to blame for the actions of others. Other races are looked down upon because of the color of their skin or maybe because they look very different. Racism has led up to genocide because one group fears another, or because of the way a race looks. A person who is racist is not born racist, they are taught to be racist or they see other people being racist, and they want to
