During the Baroque period, lots of immigrants from Great Britain and other parts of Europe immigrated to North America, which contributed to the development of North America. Folk music was originally brought by immigrants from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales to the United States in the early 1600s. These people also brought folk ballads, fiddle tunes for dancing, and a style of dance known as clogging. A little later, in the 1760s, a group of French who were originally from rural areas in Western France, bought a vibrant musical culture represented by folk songs and instrumental music for dancing.
