"Lifelong self-images are formed by how successful we are in school." (Discover Your Child's Learning Style, 7) "To educate is to develop mentally, morally, or aesthetically especially by instruction" (Webster). Education has been the foundation of America since the beginning of her time. Whether that education was through experiences, parental guidance, or public schooling, education has always guided America's people. In our current time there are many questions as to how we will educate the next generation. "There is a self-motivated, eager learner in every child." (Discover Your Child's Learning Style, 3). We can accomplish this through understanding the following: the growth of the human mind, the three types of learning, the foundation of education, valuing education, and last but certainly not least, what makes a good teacher.

The education process is set up in a way that mimics the growth of the brain. By 'growth' of the brain, it is meant that essentially, the brain is maturing over time. Specific areas and/or sections of the brain, called lobes become …show more content…

In our society one of the main priorities of education is English. Picture this, in kindergarten what is the first thing children are tested on? Is it not their background in the country's primary language? Without being literate in the country's primary language, how would someone function in the society's everyday life efficiently?

Taking in these points, English is a very important area of study in a person's education and is weighed very heavily in the education system, as a student, one will take an English class every year of their schooling in one form or another. Regarding the knowledge we have as being given this information, one could say that the very foundation of education is indeed English.
