Plymouth was one of the first settlement in America. The pilgrims they came England dreaming to make a better life for themselves, one where they could be free and do what they wanted. They were free and things would be OK until about 100 and so years later when England decided to crack down on the colonies and inforce thing that would be unconstitutional by todays standards. The only problem was that the constitution wasn’t created yet and before it was much blood was shed by men hoping to created a new country. That country would soon be free and that give freedoms to anyone coming to it or born in it.anyone who wanted it bad enough could have it. We are all different people with different hope and goals to accomplish that are part of our dreams and everybody is entitled to them but not everyone has an equal chance of achieving their goals. When a person’s dream is to become a doctor and help people and save lives, they have to work for it and if everything goes right, you have the skill and dedication but there is one problem.... your skin color. There is nothing wrong with your skin color and you're actually part of the majority but its unfair because of something called affirmative action. After Segregation congress passed something called affirmative action which made colleges originally have a quota of how many minority students had to be accepted that was found unconstitutional so instead allowed for minorities have an edge over the majority even if test scores or extracurriculars say otherwise. The majority aren’t the only ones who belief this is unfair "I'll our records are just about equal. But when we look for jobs this year, it's a different story. You got all of the brakes"( Rodriguez 3). This was written by a minority author who believed that this was unfair. He that this example of how affirmative action works truly is unfair. Affirmative action was created to give minorities a better chance of succeeding back when racism was a big thing and now when racism isn’t a big issue, they still have this advantage and the majority gets trumped.
