The American Dream

The American dream has always been a talk amongst the American culture. When people speak of it, they often think back to the 19th century. The American Dream can be thought about when learning information on the Declaration of Independence which states that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness this was written by Thomas Jefferson. Despite this, the American Dream is just as relevant to American culture today as it was in the 19th century and in many ways still attainable. The American dream for some people is measured based on what someone has and can afford for others it’s simply about family. There are
The idea that this country offers so much opportunity that can be obtained by anyone provides people with the ability to dream their own dreams. The American Dream can be a motivational fire, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, one must focus on building a balanced life for themselves, participate in honest work and practice their craft to have marketable skills are just stick out from the competition. People work their whole lives making money so they can satisfy their desires. The idea of being able to purchase the items people always dreamed of is an achievement in itself. Having a great family owning a home and having beautiful things to fill it with is a common dream amongst people. Many people take pride in what they possess. People want to own nice homes, nice cars, and nice clothes. Some need to look successful in order to feel successful. These people feel successful when they can admire what their hard work has given them and when they can see they build something their kids can also benefit from. The dream of freedom of choice is a part of the American dream and again, shows similarities to the American constitution. It allows people to fashion their own lifestyles and benefit from being authentic. People have the freedom to be who they want to be, and they aren’t restricted by law or the government to get things and do things they prefer to do. Regardless of where they come from and who they are they have equal
But to the majority of people the American Dream is still attainable, it just isn’t the American dream one is taught to pursue at an early age. If a person follows a career that they believe in and work hard with patience, at first they won’t be living the dream but that person will eventually achieve their true American dream. People shouldn’t follow a career that they feel they should follow because they will earn the most money in, it should be because that is really there dream. Many people stay unhappy in these positions and end up saying what they should have done different there isn’t anything wrong with this but it shows people that achieving their dream will not only make them happy but it offers memories and a life time feeling of
