The American Dream: The Perfect Life

The American Dream to me is the “perfect life”. To have a great job that I enjoy as well as a great house to support my family. The American Dream should motivate everyone to succeed in life so they can live a sustainable life. An ideal job that you like and enjoy, should be a part of your American Dream. A big enough house for you and your desirable family to live comfortable, should be a part of your American Dream.
The American Dream in my eyes is three-bedroom house with a big backyard for my family of my wife and kid. In my Dream, I want to live comfortable in my house. I don’t want to have to worry about thieves in my neighborhood, so I will live in a gated community. I will have the accessories that suite my needs and wants in life.
In an online blog, the site says “The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility for the family and children, achieved through hard work in a

society with few barriers.” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Dream).
In my American Dream, I want to be able to work in a job that I enjoy. A job that I wake up exited to go to work to. As a cruise ship entertainer, I could make $15.38 per hour, and it’s an amazing job! Getting to tour the world on a boat that supports many people, and I am responsible for making the happy, and personally that’s what I love.
With hard work and dedication, anyone could make their life great. For example, the three-time All-Star NBA player, Jimmy Butler, started his life off homeless, and with hard work he made it to the NBA. “At age 13, she [His mother] kicked him out of the house and left him with these words ‘I don’t like the look of you. You gotta go.’” (ballislife.com/jimmy-butlers-emotional-story-from-homeless-teenager-to-nba-all-star/). Jimmy was abandoned by his mother at a young age and he skipped from one friend’s house to another. During his Senior house of high school, Jimmy finally was taken in by the mother of one of his friends, which made him the eighth child of a family of seven. Butler basically started with nothing in his life, not even a mother, and still found his dream.

Another celebrity that found his American dream was Christopher George Latore Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G. In one of his 1994 hit song “Juicy”, he explains how he went from being in poverty, to being a wealthy celebrity. In his song, Biggy sings, “Thikin’ back on my one-room shack/ Now my mom pimps a Ac’ with minks on her back/ And she loves to show me off, of course/ Smiles every time my face is up in The Source/ We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us/ No heat, wonder why Christmas missed us, Birthdays were the worst days/ Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay/ Uh, damn right I like the life I live/ ‘Cause I went from negative to positive” (play.google.com/music/previews). Biggy speaks about his life in his songs, and how he changed his life and made it to his American Dream. He brings up how he went from negative to positive, meaning he went from poor to wealthy throughout his life. Earlier in the song Biggy states “Considered a fool ‘cause I dropped out of high school”. Although Biggy had an amazing career, others won’t be granted the gift of becoming a celebrity, so education is key in the ideal American Dream.
Education is the key to open doors leading to success in your life.

People without the right education will not make it far in life because the lack of knowledge subjects. Everyone has the opportunity to get the basic education to lead them to success, but it’s up to you to take the education and turn it into a sufficient job to support your lifestyle. On a website, a question and answer type of website, someone proposed the question “Why is education the key to success?” and that followed with this answer, “Education is the key to success because it opens doors for people of all backgrounds, and it expands the human mind with knowledge. The vast amount of knowledge grained though education prepares individuals to solve problems, teach others, function at a higher level and implement transformational ideas. Without education, one’s chances of securing a good job and ascending to a higher economic and social status are often

limited.”
