(TWPD). While Texas Game Warden officers carry out their missions and protect the state’s environment and natural resources, they encounter dangerous and life threatening situations. With the human population rising, the more people, the less wild, our earth is becoming more polluted, crowded, civilized, and less wild (Game Warden Museum). Game Wardens all across the states and North America are helping protect the great outdoors for our future generations. Game wardens usually work alone on the front lines of natural resource protection (Texas). Game wardens often risk or even sacrifice their lives for conservation. Natural resources are being pushed to a limit with the huge population. 90 percent of the natural wetlands of North America have disappeared (Game Warden Museum)! Game wardens have had to protect the land from poachers, black market animal parts trade, polluted eco-systems, encroachment, invasive species, and habitat explosion (Game Warden Museum). To have more animals, plants, natural resources, and wildlife, we must be courteous to the environment and preserve it for our future generations. Game wardens receive many of the benefits afforded workers in all industries, plus a few more that are slowly disappearing or costing large amounts in other workplaces. However, the specifics vary by jurisdiction. They receive paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave and overtime allowances. The state may pay for part or all of health, dental and vision benefits for game wardens and their families. Most agencies pay for a college degree related to the profession, and assign the warden several pieces of equipment, including a 4x4 vehicle, watercraft, computer, phone, digital camera and global positioning system. After working for a certain period of time and then retiring from the profession, wardens receive a pension that may combine both government-granted and contributory income (Game Wardens). Also for those who value the outdoors find being a fish or game warden an ideal job. Those who like the rugged terrain, working in fresh air, and being around the natural environment is an even better reason for one to become a fish or game warden. Fish and game wardens get paid well in their annual chunk of change. As of May 2011, they earned a mean $55,670 per year, or $26.77 per hour (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The best-paid 10 percent made more than $81,080 yearly, or $38.98 hourly. These wages were higher than the average annual $42,730, or $20.54 per hour more than the average wages for all workers, which ran $45,230 per year, or $21.74 per hour (Bureau of Labor Statistics). As for Texas fish and game warden, the average salary is $53,000 annually. This annual pay is 9.3 percent higher than the nationwide average of 48,070 as of 2015 (Game Warden EDU). Of course, the higher rank, the more pay there is. Annually, a game warden makes a minimum of $49,581; and a maximum of $68,688 (Game Warden EDU) A game warden sergeant makes a minimum of $64,084; a maximum of $76,521 annually (Game Warden EDU). Game warden lieutenants make $71,377 minimum, $84,598 maximum (Game Warden EDU). Game warden captains make minimum of $83,574 and a maximum of $91,017 annually (Game Warden EDU). Finally, a Texas Game Warden major makes a minimum of $102,357 annually and a maximum of $103,014 annually (Game Warden EDU). “This job is not so much a job when you love being in the outdoors and doing what I do.
It’s my career and I love it. When I retire, I’ll retire as a Texas game warden.” –Brendan Shoars. This is a quote from the Ector County Game Warden that was interviewed for this assignment. He also talked about the dangers and all the responsibilities that come with his career. Texas game warden have a great amount of jurisdiction, just under a Texas Ranger, which has most jurisdiction in Texas. So that should say a lot about a game warden’s responsibilities as far as jurisdiction goes. Here in Ector County, there are not much dangers to avoid, not like someone would drown out here or if there’s much to hunt! Brendan also says that no matter where a game warden is patrolling, they have to be alert of their surroundings and know what dangers come with their surrounding patrolling areas. This is critical to protecting the environment, citizens, and even one’s self. The different special teams that the Texas Game Warden have are helpful for doing so, if it’s for search and rescue, or using K-9 to carry out a drug bust. Protecting the environment, citizens, and wildlife is something that is very important, especially the environment and wildlife. If anyone is interested in doing such activities listed and mentioned in this paper then they could have a career in being a game warden, especially in
Texas.
Have you ever seen yourself working as Game Wardens? I honestly don’t see myself working as Game Wardens. If you really don’t know what Game Wardens are and do well let me tell you a little about them. Game wardens are great. It’s a nice work; you can work as Federal or State Warden. Both are great; I prefer Federal. Why? Because you’re still working with the government but to me is like they work better as a family instead of just everyone pretending to like each other and having to work together. Having said that, me give you some examples State and Federal of Game Wardens.

Game Warden Game wardens are some of the most powerful leaders in the nations from the early 1865 when the legislature created Fish and oyster commission regulating fishing. The department of game warden was added in 1907. When the state board created a separate entity in 1923, then in 1951 the name Fish and Oyster was dropped to create a new name for Texas park and wildlife Department in 1963. Legislature decided to pass an Act for managing fish and wildlife resources in all Texas counties with all parks and wildlife departments.
The job of the game warden is very important. For instance, they have to protect the wildlife and serve as a specialty police officer. Unfortunately, there is a lot of land to cover for a game warden so they have to cover a lot of land. Also, wardens must enforce the laws involving our vast ecosystem as well. That could range from pollution laws all the way to disposal of trash. Typically, game wardens will spend their time patrolling assigned areas (“Summary” para.4). They will patrol these areas by many sources of transportation; boat, vehicle, foot, or even by airplane. This transportation is vital to a game warden because hunting and fishing laws can happen at any place. While most of the work is outdoors, the officers will have to file reports on accidents. In addition to giving tickets and warnings, game ...

He told me everything I needed to know about the place less than 10 minutes in the hot and humid truck. Well let's go back to see what led to this.

Within the Criminal Justice System there is diverse career opportunities to choose from. The career I am interested in being is a Criminal Profiler with the FBI National Center for Analysis of Violent Crime. I am interested in this job because it seems to be an intense job to do. A criminal profiler's job is to create a psychological profile of a criminal suspect. Creating one of these profiles can be used to help catch the suspect. This is done by examining evidence from the crime, interviewing witnesses and victims, and analyzing crime scenes. Information obtained from these investigations can then be used to help the profiler determine a pattern of criminal behavior. Most of the time the information that was collected can be used to find out more about the suspect.
Duck hunting is a very popular sport that is rooted in our american history. In fact, in the sports beginning, many hunters hunted out of boats that were known as the “sink boat.” The historical weapon of choice was a very large old gun style known as the “punt.” Although hunting is a historical sport, many americans still love to duck hunt and knowing a few essential facts can make a hunter much more successful.
It is early in the morning; the majestic Elk bugles in the distance. The sun is kissing the tops of the peaks with the most beautiful gold, and painting the clouds rose red. The men and women who enjoy the outdoors whether it is hunting or just hiking help make these types of moments possible. Hunting and the ecosystem is tied closely to conservation of land and animals. The articles of “Hunting and the ecosystem” written by the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department (SDGFP), and “Facts and statistics on wildlife conservation” written by Roger Holmes, director of the Fish and Wildlife, touch on how hunting is important in the environment to keep a good balance in the ecosystem. They also point out how hunters do more than any other organization for wildlife and environment. Our country was created by outdoors men who hunted and they passed their knowledge of the outdoors to their kids. Hunting has worked its way down from the generation and we should learn to “pass it on” Hunting is great for the environment and wildlife and should be preserved for the ages to come.
A social outrage has broken recently amid the scandal of Cecil the Lion’s death. Cecil was illegally hunted and killed by the American dentist Walter Palmer. Since then, it has caused the world to change their minds on the effects of trophy hunting. Succeeding the death of the renowned lion, a recent poll in America displays that on a three to one margin, the respondents said they would rather be tourists in a country that prohibits trophy hunting, instead of one that does not. The debate is ascending as more hunters proudly present their ‘trophy’ on social media. Many nature conservatives and animal protection agencies are raising awareness because of the fact that Cecil died in a meaningless and violent manner. The problem is not only in America, but around the globe. Trophy hunting should be illegal in the world because it is merely killing animals without a meaningful purpose, and it produces harmful effects to the environment.
Years ago, killing animals for food was part of the average man’s everyday life. While, now a days, hunting is questioned by many across the world because it is commonly viewed as a recreational activity. Many residents have a problem with the dangers that come with hunting. Not to mention, as time goes on, society seems to feel differently about animals and how they should be treated. One of the biggest debates is the harvest of white tailed deer. All over the United States, white tailed deer thrive because of the few predators that feast upon them and the large forests and habitats that these deer can flourish in. However, as buildings and subdivisions pop up left and right decreasing the white tailed deer natural habitat, the debate grows stronger. The heart of the debate is centered around ethical issues, human and deer conflicts, safety, and the benefits hunting has on the economy.
Many people see hunting and fishing as the slaughtering of innocent animals for no reason other than sport and fun. However, the truth is, hunting and fishing are beneficial to people, environments, and the economy. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to the economy because they cause a major economic impact. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to environments and people because they reduce damages done by wildlife overcrowding. Hunting and fishing are also beneficial to people because they provide a healthy, affordable source of food.
