Testosterone
Hypogonadism (Testosterone Deficiency)
In men, hypogonadism is a condition in which the testes produce a less than normal amount of testosterone, the male hormone. When too little testosterone is present, men tend to undergo a drop in sexual desire and performance. They may also experience depression, fatigue, loss of motivation and osteoporosis. The size and strength of their muscles may diminish and their body hair may become sparse. These symptoms are not specific to testosterone deficiency, however, some men with hypogonadism often don't recognize that they have a medical problem that is treatable.

Testosterone
LifeSpan offers both injectable testosterone (testosterone cypionate) and testosterone cream. While both forms of testosterone have proven benefits in hormone replacement therapy, each has distinct advantages.
The transdermal delivery system of the pure micronized testosterone cream provides a non-invasive method of application along with a more consistent level of testosterone absorption. The cream is applied twice daily, in the morning and before bedtime. We recommend that you use the testosterone cream for eight consecutive weeks, then take two weeks off. During the two weeks off interval, we recommend that you administer HCG therapy (see below). It is recommended that you follow this cycle throughout the duration of your prescription.
You will receive a 200 mg/60 gram tube of testosterone transdermal cream that will last approximately four weeks. Your prescription will be valid for six months; however, because testosterone is a "controlled substance", you may only receive a four weeks supply of testosterone at one time.
For many people, testosterone replacement therapy via injection provides the quickest and most dramatic results in optimizing hormone levels. We provide testosterone cypionate in 200 mg/4ml vials. The usual prescription is for 1cc per week, which means the vial would be a one month supply. Whether you choose testosterone in injectable or transdermal cream form, the use of HCG is highly recommended.
Physicians are witnessing an explosion of interest in testosterone replacement therapy for both men and women. This is due in part to medical recognition of the condition of andropause - which has been described as being the male counterpart of menopause and is precipitated by hypogonadism, or testosterone deficiency.
The primary reason, however, seems to be the growing awareness that testosterone, as with other hormones, declines with age and that such declining levels can result in serious physical and mental health problems for both sexes.
First I will be discussing about the thyroid gland, so the thyroid gland is a gland in the neck that secretes hormones. These hormones regulate growth and development, and metabolism. The main hormone secreted is Thyroxine. So when a person like Margie is diagnosed with hypothyroidism it means the thyroid gland does not secrete enough hormones. As many females get over the age of 50, they are more at risk of developing hypothyroidism. The symptoms
Hypothyroidism develops when the thyroid gland does not produce enough of certain hormones. (“Hypothyroidism”, n.d.). Hypothyroidism can be broken down even further. The two types of hypothyroidism are congenital hypothyroidism or acquired hypothyroidism. According to Porth 2011, “Congenital hypothyroidism develops prenatally and is present at birth. Acquired hypothyroidism develops later in life because of primary disease of the thyroid gland or secondary to disorders of hypothalamic or pituitary origin.” (p. 786). Some common symptoms include increased sensitivity to cold, dry skin, fatigue, constipation, drowsiness, hypothermia and muscle weakness (“Hypothyroidism”, n.d.).

Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, also known as psuedohypertrophic muscular dystrophy, is a typical sex-linked disorder in which the muscles degenerate throughout a person's life. It literally means "faulty nutrition of the muscles." Muscular Dystrophy has no cures, and this particular type of muscular dystrophy affects only males. One in 3,500 baby boys are born with this disorder and survival is rare beyond the early 30s, death is usually caused by a respiratory disease. (ygyh.org)

Clients with oily, acne prone skin types should maintain regular treatments of 1 to 2 times weekly and eventually once a week to maintain and prevent further acne and for sanitizing the skin. Other clients with mature skin should maintain a regular treatment of once weekly to maintain plumpness in the skin and to help with the appearance with fine lines and wrinkles. Anyone can have this treatment as desired as it is known for its relaxing properties as well.
At the point when a women’s body quits creating estrogen, it can cause numerous awkward side effects. A few of the transient manifestations include; hot flashes, temperament changes, unpredictable periods, vaginal or urinary tract diseases, urinary incontinence, aggravation of the vagina, rest issue, or diminished sexual want (Cooper). There are likewise long-term manifestations in which a woman may persevere through, for example, an expanded danger of coronary illness and osteoporosis (Hempel, Md.). Even though these indications may appear to be awkward and appear just as they could disturb a women’s social, expert, and individual life there are options that a woman can use to ease these side effects. The one noteworthy choice for woman is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). HRT can be a positive alternative for women who need to experience this phase of their lives without enduring inconvenience; in any case, HRT can likewise cause some real medical
Although steroids have many negative effects, they have many needed medical purposes. Androgens have many legitimate medical uses, such as the use for treatment of hypogonadal men to compensate for the lack of endogenous production. Anabolic steroids are also helpful for the treatment of certain adolescent diseases, some types of anemias, and for a relatively rare form of edema. Other clinical uses focus on the tissue building and anti-catabolic effects, such as in the treatment of burn victims, AIDS, or HIV positive patients, or patients malnourished from disease or old age (Bellino 1).

“Steroids are any type of a large group of fat-soluble organic compounds, as the sterols, bile acids, and sex hormones most of which have specific physiological action” (Dictionary.com). When our bodies are still developing, the effects of steroids can be dangerous and can also be permanent (“Above”). Steroids are made out of substances such as nandrolone, stanozolol, testosterone, fluoxymestrone, and oxandrolone. Sometimes people say when you can’t pronounce something, you probably shouldn’t use it. In the 1940’s testosterone began to be widely used in competitive sports, but the dangers of loading up on testosterone were not yet clear (“History”). Instead of using steroids for a bad reason, there is a medicinal purpose. Cortisteroids can treat arthritis, asthma, lupus and multiple sclerosis, eczema and rashes, and some types of cancer (“Steroids: Medline”). Also, steroids can be used to treat anemia, to improve weight loss due to severe illness, and to treat osteoporosis. Steroids can only be sold to you by a pharmacist f...
Because of the complexity of these interactions, a hormonal imbalance rarely stems from only one type of hormone. More often, the problem involves a series of hormones that are out of balance. In addition, a disruption in the balance of hormones produced by one gland or set of glands can cause other glands or systems to dysfunction. Before you know it, you’re feeling miserable on multiple
Your doctor will usually order testosterone levels – these are typically obtained first thing in the morning.
While estrogen and testosterone levels experience a drop during perimenopause and menopause stages, it doesn’t mean that a woman’s sex drive will just completely vanish. She won’t be in the mood as often as she was in her 20s or 30s, but her sexual interest remains, which is good enough to maintain a great sex life even in her 40s.
- Laboratory Test Consideration: Monitor TSH serum levels in the patient about 8-10 weeks after changing from one brand of medication to another
It is not just the sex drive but even the desire for sex gets lower with low testosterone levels.
