Introduction
There is no point denying the fact that innovation is an important part in tourism industry. It is obvious that new technologies lead to exceeded guests’ expectations which in turn reflect on establishment’s image and success. The innovation is defined as the acceptance, generation and implementation of new ideas, processes, products and services. In my project I will be discussing about different devices that are used in restaurants to satisfy guests’ expectations, the profit that enterprises make from various means and also about QR codes.
Innovation in the hospitality industry
Managers in the hospitality industry with set of guidelines that can be used to develop and support various types of innovations with the purpose of improving customer satisfaction, profitability and market competitiveness. The last word of technologies reflects on purchase decisions and customer satisfaction, playing important role in the market share and revenue. The tourism depends on modernization due to make lower costs and higher profit, such as improved services and products, environmental issues, information and communication technologies. The case is not different for hospitality, this industry is extremely competitive sector and innovation is one of the main causes of competitiveness. The hotels and restaurants alike create, distribute and use innovation in order to get and support long-term competitive advantage.

After a long day in school and studying, every student needs a night off to just relax and enjoy a meal at a restaurant. In this modern time, some aspects of a restaurant can be the deciding choice. Many choose their restaurant of choice based on either those they are with, their personal, cultural appetite, their routine eating habits or their mood. Some of these preferences are similar yet others are the deciding differences. Two common franchise restaurants that pose differences are Applebee’s and Olive Garden. These two restaurants present their differences in environmental and food options causing a choice between them.
The article discusses how Panera Bread had to rethink its service model seven years ago. Customers had to wait in line approximately eight minutes to place an order. Furthermore, ten percent of the time, the orders were incorrect. As a result, the company decided that online ordering was the solution to their problem. In 2012, the organization opened a Panera prototype in Braintree, Massachusetts to test the elements of “Panera 2.0”. “Panera 2.0” consisted of self-order kiosks, delivery, digital ordering and a new practice of bringing food to customers’ tables. Getting the right process took Panera Bread over six years. However, all the time spent and money invested paid off for the company. Panera is now recognized as one of the best-performing chains in the industry. In addition, a quarter of the company sales come from online ordering and customers waiting time to place an order reduced to one minute. In 2016, the company posted its best sales growth in four years, outperforming the industry average by 6.5% points.
In Kline Robot Fast-food Workers are Coming, Kline holds an insightful assumption that robots and automated technology have invaded the fast food industry. Kline established in his opening statement how fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, Starbucks, and shipping warehouse are quickly adapting to robot workers and other automates tech. He wants to emphasize what this means for future business and the impact on future jobs.
