Teacher coordinator said the elementary teacher was blaming her because she was not monitoring the tutors.
Teacher coordinator response was that she had 16 tutors assigned to different grade levels and can be at each room to oversee students. Furthermore, teacher coordinator to elementary teacher that she should not have assigned the male tutor to escort the kindergarten female to the bathroom.
Teacher coordinator express to me her concerns of being blamed for the incident. In addition, she told me that the male tutor, in her opinion, is a good tutor and would not do what he is being accused of. Teacher coordinator because of the incident could not send tutor to the elementary school for further tutoring or to participate in any end of year celebrations at the elementary school. Additionally, elementary teachers did not provide end of year assessment for tutors at Lorenzo de Zavala middle school.
Teacher coordinator had notified me that the Lorenzo de Zavala principal, toward the end of the year, constantly will pull out or add to the Coca-Cola program tutors, depending on the STARR pre-test and needs. Teacher coordinator has talked to both principal and assistant principal to no
avail. After my visit to Lorenzo de Zavala, a meeting with the program director, Jose Flores, resulted in the following information. First the program director was unaware of the incident, second, he was going to check with the district Internal Affairs Department to check if there had been any reports files for Lorenzo de Zavala regarding the incident and third he was going to visit Lorenzo de Zavala campus and meet with the principal. He told me once he investigates the status of the incident and can get more information he will notify me of the status of the student. I asked him is this will influence the program at La Joya ISD and he said not, he stated that Lorenzo de Zavala tutors will go to another elementary campus. Furthermore, he told me that the principal at Tabasco Elementary has not be very supportive of the program and has had issue with her administrative duties
A teacher’s most important duty is to protect the students they are in charge of. This duty includes both reasonably protecting students from harm and, when a student is harmed, reporting it to the proper authorities (Gooden, Eckes, Mead, McNeal, & Torres, 2013, pp. 103-109). There have been many court cases that reiterate this duty of school staff. One such case is Frugis v. Bracigliano (2003) where many staff at a school failed in their duty to protect students and allowed abuse to continue for years.
This case involves a sophomore at a high school named Christine Franklin, who alleged that she was sexually harassed and abused by a teacher and sports coach by the name of Andrew Hill. These allegations were occurring from 1986-1988, a total of two years. These allegations included Hill having explicit conversations with Franklin, forcing her to kiss him, and forceful intercourse on school grounds. Franklin claimed that she let teachers and administrators know about the harassment and that other students were going through the same harassment. The result of telling the teachers and administrators was that nothing was done about the situation and even encouraged Franklin not
Assistant Principal Howard implies that gender is an issue in relation to the way she is being treated. Do you agree with her? Provide a rationale for your response. I do not agree that gender is the issue in how she was treated. I think that she was named associate principal because of her ability to lead. Mr. Varber considered her to be a valuable asset on his administrative team because of her experience. He also relied on her to manage the school in his absence. She did this effectively. According to the case study it appeared that Mayor Shea and Superintendent French were aware of Mrs. Howard’s managerial and leadership skills, which helped their decision to appoint her as associate principal. This decision would
High school student “John Doe” responded to peer teasing by choking the student and then kicking out a school window. Middle school student “Jack Smith” made sexual lewd comments to female classmates. Both had a history of hostile and aggressive behaviors that are manifestations of their disabilities. On the fifth day of the school suspension, the district notified both boys’ parents that they were proposing expulsion and they extended suspension until the expulsion proceedings were finished. Doe filed suit against the school district and the superintendent on grounds that the disciplinary actions violated the “stay-put” provision of the then Education of the Handicapped Act (EHA) (later IDEA). Having learned of Doe’s case, Smith also protested the school’s actions and intervened in Doe’s
Jose and Emily should be following standards and ensure that exceptions are not being made due to the pressure from the school district manager.
A South Carolina teacher by the name of Leigh Anne Arthur, is suing her school district after a student shared an intimate picture on social media, leading to her losing her job. On February 19th, a student was reported to have grabbed the partially nude photo of Leigh Anne Arthur, who is a teacher at Union County High School, from her phone when she left it on her desk while on hallway patrol duty. Following the incident Arthur resigned after the district superintendent told her she bore some of the responsibility for keeping racy photos private and gave her the option to go through a dismissal process or resign. A lawyer who represents Arthur, Jessica Salvini, told NBC News that she filed the lawsuit on Friday against the school district and David Eubanks, its superintendent. Based off a statement obtained by NBC affiliate WYFF in Greenville, Arthur said "The Lawsuit is based on the false accusations made by Dr. David Eubanks against me along with policies and due process not appropriately followed by Union County School District." In addition, after charges were filed, Eubanks stood by his belief that Arthur was at fault. Also, an astounding 17,000 people have signed a petition to bring Arthur back to the high school, where she taught mechanical engineering and computer programming. Despite the outpouring of support, Arthur has said she does not want her job
He is one of three former teachers at the school investigated for inappropriate relationships with students.
One of the issues that were brought up was an upset parent who mentioned that his child suffers from narcolepsy. He was addressing that he wants the school board to help him because he feels as if the principal is penalizing his daughter. He mentioned that the principal mentioned that he will penalize the girl because of her lateness. He also mentioned that the principal refused to acknowledge his daughter’s sickness and how the principal bullied him. Following this one of the members from the board address this issue by mentioning that this issue that the parent has addressed is a personal issue that really should not be mentioned in this meeting. The school board member also mentioned that this should not be acceptable from a principal to be uninvolved. And how no child should be treated like this. He would also mention that this issue will be
If I were in Amber’s situation and I decided to stay at the school I would be persistent with principal in allowing me work with the teachers on instructional matters. Even though he might be against...

Kaylan Little’s mom, Ms. Covington, called around 2:20 today February 8, 2017. She stated that Kaylan was upset because Mr. McKnight was saying she had a bad attitude, needed to go the alternative school, and was gossiping with other teachers regarding her behavior in the hallway. Kaylan’s mother was concerned with Mr. McKnight’s lack of professionalism. I pulled Kaylan out of her 4th core class which is also Mr. McKight’s class. We talked about her concern regarding Mr. McKnight addressed her. We discussed that she has him 3 times a day and she does not feel like he respects her. We also discussed that there was an incent last year in which Mr. McKnight was accused of using the “n” word and she still has some animosity towards him.
Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. The school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they
I would be grateful if you would accept this letter as an application for the post of Assistant Headteacher at Welham. I believe that I have the required skills and experience to make a success of this opportunity and I intend, throughout this letter, to suggest ways in which my contributions would be of value to such a position within your school.
The incident on October twenty first was too for us much to overlook, we all decided that we had to talk to Susan about this. We told her about how we were treated and how we are not getting anything out of this experience, and also that is it still possible to switch placements. Susan with Sheryl Bird went to the Grant Street Neighborhood Center and saw it themselves. The center was empty full with kids but neither of them was doing homework only using computers.
For the lead teacher interview assignment, I had the opportunity to sit down with and interview my son’s EC teacher from last year, Mrs. Hamm. Since my son started at the school last year, Mrs. Hamm has helped him in so many different ways. Mrs. Hamm has been teaching for over 20 years from her home state of Pennsylvania and more currently at Mount Energy Elementary School in Creedmoor, NC. Mrs. Hamm has been teaching at Mount Energy Elementary School in Creedmoor, NC for the last 12 years and recently awarded “Teacher of the Year”. Mrs. Hamm, up until this school year, was the main EC teacher for all grades Kindergarten through fifth grade at Mount Energy Elementary School. As of the present school year, the school district made the determination that she was over the acceptable number of students. As a result, they decided to hire an additional EC teacher and assistant to teach grades 3-5th and Mrs. Hamm would teach grades K-2. Mrs. Hamm was the teacher of 18 students until this decision was made, now with grades K-2, she has 9 students in her class.
