The start of the school year has come, and as you know, the halls become flooded with unfamiliar faces. From the “new students” to the incoming freshman, the countless amount of people can be overwhelming. It is even harder to realize that each of them have unique interests and hobbies, and it is these distinct traits that make them different from everybody else. As an example, my favorite band to listen to is twenty one pilots. Rather than meaningless lyrics, the lead singer, Tyler Joseph, dedicates his time to making sure listening to the music is worthwhile. In one of their songs titled, “The Judge”, Joseph includes the lyric “I’m a pro at imperfections, and I’m best friends with my doubt” which lets his audience know that it’s okay to have insecurities. The song truly encompasses what is significant to me. Another example of something that is important to me would be finding time to laugh and live life. While it may sound “cheesy”, it is necessary that in a life full of responsibilities

Elizabeth Taylor, or Liz for short, was born February 27th, 1932 in Hampstead, London, England, UK to American parents, Sara Warmbrodt and Francis Taylor. In 1939, Elizabeth and her mother, Sara, left Hampstead and went to Los Angeles. Her father later joined them. Sara Warmbrodt, also known as Sara Sothern, was an actress on stage. So naturally, Liz was groomed to be an actress as well (Boman). A family friend suggested that Liz be taken for a screen test because of her striking beauty. She caught the eye of executives at Universal Pictures, and they signed her in 1941, but she was dropped after the first film. A year later, Elizabeth again captured the attention of another studio, and she was signed by MGM for a full year. By the age of twelve, Liz had become a leading child star (Jackson). When Liz was fourteen, she published a book titled Nibbles and Me. It was about her adventurous experiences with her pet chipmunk, Nibbles, whom she said she found on the set of one of her films. In 1947, Elizabeth appeared solo on the cover of Life magazine. On January 6th, 1950, Liz received her high school diploma from University High School in Los Angeles after she had attended school on the MGM lot. Pop music has long been defined by “idols” and superstars that are subjects of high levels of adoration from severely devoted fans, whose love of these superstars often blurs the line between fandom and obsession. This love is mainly based off of physical looks and charm more often than actual musical talent, as majority of the songs written by these massive superstars are not written by the artists themselves, instead by people hired to write for these artists in a way that will best connect with a crowd willing to spend their money on these manufactured stars. Therefore, it has become evident that in the world of popular music, image has overtaken talent as the determining factor of success in the industry. Instead of skill and songwriting ability, good looks and the ability to draw large crowds of impressionable people have become the main factors of fame in music.
Taylor’s personality is as bright as her red lipstick as she continues to quote song lyrics. Then received a clamor from the crowd because of the formidableness. She takes a break in between each idea so people can respond. This allows for a lengthier speech and a transition between topics. Additionally, she conveyed a vulnerable aspect when she mentioned to people how you should “never be ashamed of trying” (Taylor Swift).
Taylor Swift was born on December thirteenth, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. At five years of age, Swift had begun writing songs and performing for her family. But it wasn’t until about 4th grade that she really discovered her passion and talent for music, after winning an award for her poem, “Monster in my Closet”. “I think I first realized I wanted to be in country music and be an artist when I was 10. And I started dragging my parents to festivals, and fairs, and karaoke contests, and I did that for about a year before I came to Nashville for the first time. I was 11 and I had this demo CD of me singing Dixie Chicks and Leanne Rimes songs.” Swift said. “I was the girl who didn’t get invited to parties. My friends turned into the girls who stood in the corner and talked about me. But as soon as I picked up a guitar…I literally played until my fingers bled. My mom had to tape them up, and you can imagine how popular that made me: “Look at her fingers. So weird”. But for the first time in my life, those girls could say anything they wanted about me, because I was just going to go home after school and write a song about it.“ Swift, as said in the quote, wasn’t exactly the most popular girl in school, but she sure showed her “friends”. Who would want to settle with knowing that in school they talked about a girl behind her back, and she just so happens to now be a pop-country sensation? Swift’s childhood is really what began...
Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981. She lived in Kentwood, Louisiana and was constantly performing in front of people and always wanted to be on 'Star Search'. In today’s society music influences people in many ways both for the better and for the worst. Music plays such a big role in modern society due to its easy accessibility like the radio. There are many artist in the world some that influence people for the better, muses, and others that influence others for the worst ,Monsters. Jon Lajoie is an example of a monster, he displays this in his song “Show me your genitals” when he degrades women to a lower standard, and talks about them like the are property On the other hand, Katy Perry represents a muse when she influences people for the better when she talks about being the best that you can be, never giving up, and that everything happens for a reason in her song “Firework”.
Have you ever had those certain catchy songs that you just can not get out of your head? For me Taylor Swift is always at the top of my playlist. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 and grew up on a small tree farm. Swift has has a family background of singing in her family. Ever since she started recording her albums. she has written and performed all of her songs. Swift started becoming successful at a young age by performing and writing new songs whenever she got the chance. When Swift was 11 years old, she performed the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game. (“Facts”) The contributions to music demonstrated by the career of Taylor Swift prove beyond a doubt the Country Music Hall of Fame should induct this singer. Swifts worthiness of this award is shown in her awards, charitable contributions, and impact up on the music world and all of her fans.
Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have been obsessed with Taylor Swift. She has been my role model since I was thirteen. When you look at most singers today, they have to be singing about drugs or alcohol, using vulgar language, or performing half-dressed. You never see Taylor Swift doing anything that she would be ashamed of later in life. On the other hand, she has had many relationships that have lasted short time periods. At least, she is not getting married for 72 days or even 24 hours such Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears. This is why I chose to write a research paper on her.

By the time Elizabeth had turned ten years old she had been signed with Universal Studios.Which was to a one year contract, during which time she had released her first movie Lassie Come Home. In 1942 she had begun to work with metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and by then, Elizabeth Taylor had “become a household name” Susan d’Arcy in the biography she wrote called The Films of Elizabeth Taylor.
