Professional tattoos are definitely safer, but they are expensive, inconvenient and often impersonal. The Oberlin stick and poke artists are available, but recommend a cautious approach to these funky tattoos.
A tattoo is a mark, on a person, with an unforgotten design by inserting pigments into punctures in the skin. Many people get tattoos because they enjoy designs that mean something to them, but don’t know what type of chemicals or products they put in their skin. Also many people don’t understand how a tattoo can last forever. Pigments and carriers are in tattoo inks.
Tattoos have been utilized in various ways for thousands of years, ranging from punishment, to status symbols and indications of religious beliefs. They have served as the ultimate illustration of cultural diffusion in America, and despite generally carrying a negative social stigma, perception of tattoos has continued to evolve into a more acceptable practice.
Tattooing is not just a recent fad. Tattooing has been around for a very long time. "The current first proven incident of a tattoo dates back 4,000 years B.C. a traveler was found in Italy near Austria, preserved in the permafrost of a glacier. Carbon dating and arte facts found near him suggest that he is over 5,300 years old" (Tattoos and Design). Tattoos have been used to identify a person with a particular group or just to decorate a person's body. "Some designs are symbolic: In Japan, carp mean bravery; peonies mean good fortune" (McNab 42).
Whether you are trying to create and transfer the perfect stencil or you want to master the ability to make designs appear to glow, it's all about finding the right tattooing techniques and then practicing them until they're perfect.
Do you ever wonder why you never see tattoos and piercings in the medical or federal working fields? It’s because some people believe that a person with tattoos and/or piercings is linked to people with bad reputations, such as bikers, sailors, criminals, and gang members, but that is false. Piercings and tattoos have been popular for quite a long time now, but still get looked down upon and can even affect your daily life.
Starting off as juices and markings, tattoos were nothing more than ways of identification and personalization. Rubbing juices extracted from plants onto your face and arms is the most notable to people. Also using bone needles and pigments to tattoo in a more modern fashion was common. Ancient descendants used what they had and although it wasn’t painless and easy, it worked.
Different artists are better at some styles than others. Think about your decision for a long period of time before acting on it. This is a permanent action. Research the reviews of the tattoo parlor and make sure that they have a clean reputation. Avoiding any infections or adverse reactions should be a priority. Ask many questions about the after-care of your tattoo and if there is a better season to get one. Contemplate the position of your tattoo and how that will affect you in the long term. Consider the content of your tattoo. Is it something that will be a positive effect on your life? Fads will come and go but the ink will last

Hello, Efrain. I really enjoyed your writing about the Oceanic tattoo. Especially, I liked the representation of the ocean. My discussion topic was same as yours, but mine is different with your posting. I just wrote about the origin of the word "tattoo" and compare the oceanic tattoo and modern communities' tattoo. I like that your posting is organized. Anyhow, when I was young, I wanted to have some tattoos, but since I heard it is hurt, I don't want it anymore.
Throughout my life I have taken multiple stands. All of these stands that I have taken haven’t been too big up until recently, which I will get to by the end of this. I guess you could call it disobeying when I was younger, but now looking back, it was just the fact I was doing what I though was right; taking a stand. The first time I went against what my dad wanted, I was fourteen. I decided that I wanted to be like everyone else at the time and get my belly button pierced. My mom had no problem with it because the way she looked at it was that it was just a piercing and it would more than likely heal up if I decided I did not want it.
All in all, tattooing is an outstanding job you’ll learn to love. With all it’s ups and down, the ups make it worthwhile and the best job you’ve ever
We read stories in books filled with pages in writing, but the ink embeded on our skin represents another kind of story. Once you get a tattoo, you’ll understand one thing specifically: even the most foolish looking tattoos still have some sort of significance or meaning to the person. Personally, I cannot get this out of my head and it repeats over and over as I feel bad for all the previous years thinking other people’s tattoos were dumb. January 24 I got my first tattoo, my dad’s signature. Those of you reading most likely know nothing about me and ask yourselves why my dad’s signature?
Jack London once said, “Show me a man with a tattoo and I’ll show you a man with an interesting past.” (goodreads.com). Tattooing is an ancient form of art and body modification that is most commonly used as a form of self expression. To all those who are strongly opposed to tattoos, it should be known that, “In ancient times, tattoos were not only applied for decoration, but they also held a symbolic significance.”
