In order for a business to be successful it must have a strong policy on business ethics in place and a culture that is developed based on core values that should be clearly defined. An organization must do everything within its control to uphold promises made to employees as well as commitments to partners, such as the community where they are located. When the culture, ethics and core values are threatened it is imperative that the organization have a policy in place to address these concerns.

TechFite is known for leadership development and employee empowerment. The purpose of his policy is to provide employees with options to further their education in an effort to develop as a leader. for Techfite to reimburse a portion of the cost to the employee.
2. The ethical and legal issues at stake in the scenario
i. Excessive bonus payouts to executives when non-executive employees are given reduced hours and no benefits due to a lack of funding is unethical and does not support the company’s culture. Bonuses should only been paid when all company goals and budgets have been met as well as maintained employee satisfaction. ii. The agreements made by TechFite to the employees included full-time hours and benefits which is an implied agreement. TechFite not following through and ensuring full-time hours and benefits were provided as promised during the interview and job offer process can lead to legal actions by the employees through implied employment

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the key to any company’s success. While the traditional role of being a CSR company was primarily focused from a regulatory perspective; Techfite believes that their role as being a CSR company is to maintain a balance with the company’s priorities of being a great place to work paired with their social and environmental responsibilities as a being corporate citizen. They also believe that they must use their powers of success as a tool in being a contributing partner of society through improving the prosperity and durable setting when it pertains to their employees and the community. TechFite should use their marketing tools to support the community, environmental and social issues. The ethical code of an organization illustrates the importance of being honest, acting with integrity, and showing fairness in decision making (Bethel, 2015). Ultimately, “laws regulating business conduct are passed because some stakeholders believe they cannot be trusted to do what is right” (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2015, p. 95). In the last couple of years, culture has become the initiator for compliance, which means from the top down there has to be a commitment to act in a way that represents the company’s core values (Verschoor, 2015).
The responsibility of any business should be committed to developing and implement best practices into their daily business operations. It is important for businesses to be socially responsible because it protects and improves the lives of their employees and the communities they serve. TechFite’s main benefit from being socially responsible would be brand/reputation differentiation. TechFite decided to invest in a bankrupt city in promising to invest into the city and develop leadership programs would propel TechFite as the knight in shiny armor. Other companies may or may not want to continue to invest in a broken city and if TechFite can deliver its promises to Dellberg, their reputation and brand recognition would be known industry

Techfite is an employee-focused organization that values flexibility and empowerment. Those are characteristics of clan culture. It is classified as clan culture due to the focus on flexibility and its employees. The means of clan culture are cohesion, empowerment, participation and communication.

An organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drives them to look out for the different interests of society. Most business corporations undertake responsibility for the impact of their organizational pursuits and various activities on their customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment. With the high volume of general competition between different companies and organizations in varied fields, CSR has become a morally imperative commitment, more than one enforced by the law. Most organizations in the modern world willingly try to improve the general well-being of not only their employees, but also their families and the society as a whole.
An organization needs to adhere to ethics in order to effectively implement its mission, vision, and objectives in a way in which offers a solid foundation to management and their subordinates to properly develop and implement its strategies. By doing so, the organization as a whole is essentially subscribing to one commonality that directs all of the actions of the employees of the organization. Additionally, it assists in preventing such employees from divergence in regard to the proposed strategic guideline. By eliminating this pay out, TechFite will be able to budget for employee benefits and pay employees for working the amount of hours they were hired for. Without the budget to support employees, the relationship between TechFite and the community will diminish. This was proven when employees began to complain about weekly hours, benefits, and wages. Then the immediate leaders can emphasize and support the ethical character of their workers. Civility demands that a person must be self-disciplined for the sake of others. “By putting ethics into practice in our day-to-day encounters, civility is that moral glue without which our society would come apart” (Brannigan, 2008, para. 13). It is more important than ever for companies to act responsibly, as customers are buying products and services from the companies that they trust. A free market is a market where prices of goods and services are arranged completely by the mutual non coerced consent of sellers and buyers which is determined by law on supply and demand without any government interference (Daleka 2009). Given that consumers are increasingly becoming sensitive with current issues, as such, social responsibility has aggressively pressured to be promoted in and out of the companies, and that include of management and workers relationship. Accordingly, business strategies and business environment have intertwined relationship. One should not action not in accordance with the other because there might be some technical changes that would make them to out form. Taking risks to initiate business strategies has now become more interesting due to attachment of social responsibility of firms. The free market approach is affected by the consumer needs and also the demands in the market. Without interference from the government, the buyers and sellers can mutually consent on a price of the product within the market.

Unethical behavior is mostly influenced by the individual’s values. Since values lie behind the all the decisions we make, it follows they rest at the very core of the life we’ve made for ourselves through the decisions we’ve done Paul (n.d:1). The choices people make can also be influenced by their beliefs and their background. Employees are attracted to an organisation and work as loyal employees if they can associate with the ethics, values and norms of the organisation. So Ethics, values and culture therefore play a critical role for all stakeholders of an organisation.
Ethical business practices include assuring that the highest legal and moral standards are observed in your relationships with the people in your business community. This includes the most important person in your business, your customer. Short term profit at the cost of losing a customer is long term death for your business.
