Systems Engineer Career
The title of Systems Engineer is very widely used and until about 10 years ago, it was only used by individuals with degrees in the engineering field. Today it is used in the Information Technology space to identify individuals who play a technical role in the design, implementation or support of network and or server operations. The title of Systems Engineer is no longer associated with college degrees; it is associated with industry knowledge.
The knowledge of an entry level Systems Engineer starts out generalized and at a high level and the responsibilities are also very broad. An entry level SE generally starts at a small end user company that can't afford to hire specialized senior engineers. Their responsibilities usually include the design, implementation and support of the network, server and client systems. When the situation arises that the SE can not handle the task at hand, the company will hire a consultant who is a more senior Systems Engineer to fill in the gap. In situation like this, a good SE will also function as the liaison between their company and the consultant and try to learn as much as he can from the consultant.
As the knowledge and experience of the SE grows and becomes more detailed and specialized; the responsibilities also become more detailed and focused. The SE's responsibilities will most often begin to focus in an area they enjoy. Most SE's will choose to focus in the area of network systems or server systems and leave the client systems to the entry level staff. Working with client systems generally means working with users who need help with the most basic tasks and does not leave time to improve your knowledge in more complicated and enjoyable areas of the industry.
In programming, computer engineers instruct computers how, to do their jobs or desired functions line by line. There are many forms of computer software engineers. There are computer applications software engineers who analyse user needs and designs and then build, maintain, or perfect specialized utility systems or applications already within the system. Computer applications engineers have a multitude of computer programming languages they have to use on a daily basis. Generally the favorite languages used are C, C++, and Java. The less popular languages that are used are Fortran and COBOL. Software engineers may also also develop packaged systems, systems software, or even create personalized applications. Computer systems software engineers are responsible for designing the maintenance and construction of a company's computer systems, while also planning the systems future growth. Computer systems software engineers analyse the needs of each specific department while working with a company and advise the company on which technical direction to follow. Computer systems software engineers often help set up the technical systems of the company within the departments. The computer systems software engineers will also sometimes set up the companies intranets systems. Specifically the ones that link the company's computer systems with the organization and make communications between departments run faster and smoother. Computer
System engineers are responsible for the design, setup, and operation of PA systems. These systems may be really complex and can often be difficult to manage. They must set them up and design them so that they are able to properly manage any of the sounds that are produced.

Although learning electrical engineering does make job-hunting much easier, engineers must pass a radical examination to receive their licenses. In order to get the licenses, I will have to complete a minimum number of years on the job.
The multitudes of extracurricular and academic activities I participate in were chosen because of their focus on my interests. I want to pursue a career in computer engineering and/or biological engineering. In order to help me accomplish this I carefully consider how extracurricular and academic activities will assist me in the future. Currently I am participating in several rigorous academic courses such as AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC to gear me towards a college environment, as well as a variety of clubs that focus on engineering and the sciences. A vast majority of the classes I take are advanced placement, which gives me the chance to obtain college credit before entering college. Advance placement classes also challenge me with faster paced instruction, which prepare me for the speed and difficulty of college level courses. I am currently taking AP Biology, AP Computer Science A, , AP Literature and Composition, AP U.S. Government and Politics, Pre-AP Chinese IV, and Honors Independent Research. In terms of extracurricular activities, I currently participate in the Stock Market Club, Science and Engineering Club, our school’s FRC team, and Chinese Club. In my free time I enjoy building computers, putting together parts lists for computers, programming, playing video games, and learning about various technical jobs and new computing technologies such as server administrator and quantum computing.
A computer engineer has certain duties and responsibilities depending on the location and size of the firm he or she works for. Also the duties vary between job levels. If you work at a small firm, you will be set up on the firing line immediately and will be expected to make your boss money or you’ll be fired. Also in a smaller firm you’ll probably spend hours of pain-staking time trying to solve a problem that other engineers probably went over before.
After agreeing a suitable range of requirements and features, development team should deliver a high quality product which can satisfy the customers. Of course, during the process of developing a system, there should be annual meeting between customers and the team for further testing and changing if there are new requirements.
Transitioning from high school to college as an engineering major may gave given you the hope of not having to endure yearly written language arts classes. The truth is, however, as an engineer and as an engineering student towards your upperclassman projects, you will be tasked with writing proposals, technical reports, preliminary and critical design reports, status reports, manuals, marketing material, justifications and specifications, and this is only a summarized list. Moreover, depending on the negative impact your product could have if something were to go wrong, your reports, manuals, and instructions should be clear, and not open to ambiguity, in order to prevent misuse.
The field of Computer Science is based primarily on computer programing. Programming is the writing of computer programs using letters and numbers to make "code". The average computer programer will write at least a million lines of code in his or her lifetime. But even more important than writting code, a good programer must be able to solve problems and think logicaly.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.

A Computer Science degree is the most common degree among Software Engineers. It’s the most common because it covers a broad range of topics that Software Engineers need to know for this occupation (U.S. Department of Labor 1). Software Engineer’s need at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science to get hired by companies. Even though Computer Science is the most common degree Software Engineer’s have, there are also other subjects that they major in (U.S. Department of Labor 1). It is recommended that while pursuing a degree to become a Software Engineer, students should participate in internships, and to participate in projects to be hired by companies once they are out of college (Career Focus 1). I will say that the first qualification that a systems analyst should have is at least a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, however this may vary from organization to organization.
