Chronic illness and patients suffering from injuries with long recoveries are a complex patient population. In 2012 it was estimated that 117 million had one or more chronic health conditions (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Patients with chronic illness and injury require early intervention, coordination of multiple disciplines and they have healthcare needs which are not easily addressed with current healthcare model. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the potential investor to Whole Body Center where we embrace new approach in which chronic issues are not just assessed by a single medical view—rather we provide care with a whole body approach as chronic conditions are multifaceted. Whole Body Center has identified transparency, inspire, holistic, health pioneer, and compassion as the foundational values of the program when maneuvering through the complex healthcare system and are based on Lowney's (2003) four pillars for successful leadership of self-awareness, ingenuity, love, and heroism. Transparent: Our patients will have a clear vision of health goals, plan of care and the patient and provider relationships. Providers will work actively to Inspire: Encourage and support each patient while identifying goals and personal potential. I associate both values to be consistent with the pillar of self-awareness, in which we are looking inward: "This is who I am, this is what I stand for, this is what I want… they become more energetically committed to their values simply by articulating them” (Lowney, 2003, Self-awareness revisited para 2). The pillar of ingenuity is addressed as we embrace new approaches of Holistic care: We will address all identified areas of individual patient needs with continued reflection on the whole body system to include- physical, spiritual, and emotional perspective and as a health pioneer: we will confront established practices within medicine with up-to-date evidence, being a change agent in health care treatments, which is associated with the

According to Smithson, Walmart can expand its markets to new and emerging markets especially in the third world countries, which can significantly increase its revenues. Secondly, the company can reform is employment practices and improve the quality standard and in doing so, attract more customers and improve its brand image. On the other hand, the company faces threats such as the rising healthy lifestyle trend I that the company in most cases does not provide customers with healthy goods. At the same time, the company can capitalize on this aspect and increase its revenues. Aggressive competition from other discount retailers such as Target creates a great threat to the company (Smithson, 2015).
Building on the successful work of health care providers will help with the campaign of saving 100,000 lives. Through his speech, Dr. Berwick introduce six changes that every hospital needs to implement in order to save lives that will bring family together. The six changes Dr. Berwick wish every health care organization needs work on that will help save these lives are to deploy rapid response team, deliver reliable care for acute myocardial infarctions, prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia bundles, prevention of central venous line bundles, prevention of surgical site infection prophylaxis medication and prevention of adverse drug events with reconciliation. Even though the lives save may not know who they are, it will bring community and family together. According to Dr. Berwick “The names of the patients whose lives we save can never be known. Our contribution will be what did not happen to them. And, though they are unknown, we will know that mothers and fathers are at graduations and weddings they would have missed, and that grandchildren will know grandparents they might never have known, and holidays will be taken, and work completed, and books read, and symphonies heard, and gardens tended that, without our work, would never have
In 2013, Medifast posted $356.89 Million in revenue (Medifast, Inc., 2014) and has seen revenue growth per share climb to 22.1% over the last five years (Gurufocus, 2014). In order for a health care organization to maintain optimal function, the promotion of change is continuously necessary. Within the health care delivery system, there are a number of different techniques that nurses can use to determine where changes need to be made. One technique is called a SWOT analysis, which involves an evaluation of an organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (Harrison, 2010).
Carol finishes her story with a plea for a better communication among the different healthcare providers and the system in general. There is no perfect system, and health care, the system that constantly evolves, deals with life and death, and employs people to fill such diverse niches is probably the most complex of them all, the most difficult to assess, comprehend, and change. As big, complex, and sometimes scary as it seems, it can be changed: talking to a colleague, taking a moment and asking a patient’s opinion. “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, said Gandhi. This is my motto.
During my career as a registered nurse I have had the privilege of caring for my patients at the bedside and meeting their needs holistically. Additionally, the safety of my patients is one of the most important aspects of my current role. The experience of advocating for my patients during my nursing career has taught me to place my patient’s health and wellbeing first. The second most important aspect of nursing that I have learned during my career is how to meet my patient’s needs as a whole, not just physically but also emotionally and psychologically applying the holistic approach to each patient. I believe that the patient’s needs

Comprehensive care focuses on healing all parts of the individual and not just the physical part. Holistic nurses practice comprehensive care in various ways, one example is providing interventions. Recine (2015) states that her forgiveness interventions have been shown to be “Good for our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing” (p. 161). This kind of comprehensive care will yield better results than traditional treatment such as prescription medicine because it is encompassing everything about that person, and what makes them who they. Comprehensive care dresses multiple aspects which can further explain why the patient is feeling a certain way or is not healing. Comprehensive care is becoming more attractive to patients because it is a more personal method of treatment, and can effectively address ways to approve their life with whatever their problem is that they are trying to treat.

I think it is important that I clarify my own values to ensure that my care is client-centered. Self- reflection during care is also fundamental as it makes me aware of my actions and whether they are establishing a therapeutic relationship or doing the opposite.. Finally, I need to learn to be more empathetic towards my patient’s situations by being interactive, gaining insight and avoid being focused on the task and more on being with the situation. Some things that I will preserve are attentively listening, demonstrating attending behaviours and maintaining my patient’s dignity by ensuring privacy and
The SWOT analysis is a useful tool for identifying our personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to our plans and goals. According to a “Fuel My Motivation” article (2010), this analysis considers internal influences that can positively or negatively affect our ability to achieve our goals. The internal factors are our strengths and weaknesses. Also considered are opportunities and threats, which are external influences that can have a positive or negative impact on the ability to achieve our goals. I will share how the self-assessment instruments and self-exercises in this course have contributed to assessing and understanding my strengths and weaknesses. I will also discuss techniques I will use to leverage my strengths and understand my weaknesses. In addition, I will consider opportunities that I can take advantage of and the threats that can possibly impede my progress.
