The Ins and Outs of Ethics is a Business Week Online magazine article from May 13, 2001, it was written by Eric Wahlgren. In the article he interviews Michael Rion, the author of The Responsible Manager. Rion is also a leading business ethics advisor who consults many Standard and Poor’s 500 companies. In the article Wahlgren asks Rion why it is important for businesses to have a high ethical standard. In his responses, Rion explains that effective organizations utilize ethics programs to clearly define ethical expectations, resolve ethical issues quickly, and to remove moral constraints. Additionally, employees who understand how to deal with ethical dilemmas will also be more productive and have strong core values to guide them. According to scripture, Rions concepts are biblically sound, relevant, and desirable, proving that ethical organizational behavior is shaped and influenced by sound ethical principles.

A consequences of focusing on organization or company’s stakeholder is that the shareholder value itself can be enhanced and improved when a wider stakeholder group-such as employees, provider or credit, customers, suppliers government and the local community is taken into account (Mallin, 2011). This theory also related to the organization management and business ethics that uphold moral and values in managing a company as it will covers the benefits to the society and other external parties as a whole rather than just for the internal parties.
The term “ethics” is often used within business environments to promote and encourage organizational employees to make fair and honest business decisions daily. However, some scholars argue that, a majority of organizations in today’s business environment use the term “ethics” loosely to meet the current social status quo of business practices, but do not actually enforce the importance of ethical practices with their organization. In order to explore this argument further, a sample business ethics issue will be examined and a Christian worldview will be applied to the ethical issue as a method to correct the business ethical topic.
The SWOT analysis is a useful tool for identifying our personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to our plans and goals. According to a “Fuel My Motivation” article (2010), this analysis considers internal influences that can positively or negatively affect our ability to achieve our goals. The internal factors are our strengths and weaknesses. Also considered are opportunities and threats, which are external influences that can have a positive or negative impact on the ability to achieve our goals. I will share how the self-assessment instruments and self-exercises in this course have contributed to assessing and understanding my strengths and weaknesses. I will also discuss techniques I will use to leverage my strengths and understand my weaknesses. In addition, I will consider opportunities that I can take advantage of and the threats that can possibly impede my progress.
Ethics can be taken as a worldwide concept which leads the concept of bad and good that exists in our societies. Authors consider ethics as essential and the most delicate part of the public sector organizations (Singer 2011). According to Brickley (2000) ethics is a part of philosophy subject that is old at least 2500 years. This subject is very abroad and ethics play important role in organization. When we explain ethical behavior for a single person, the problem arises more and we cannot trace it. But when we look at the ethics of a company like public corporations that include large groups of employees’ ethics is difficult to evaluate than an organization. It is further stated that organization is a collection of different individuals which
The important of leadership and ethics issues are two concepts that are interrelated linked with an organizational environment. Ultimately, all stakeholders of an organization want their leaders and organizations to be ethically sound. Bazerman & Tenbrunsel, (2011). Having exercise the power and influence given to leaders over their followers, ethics practice will be critical to the process of leadership. Northouse, (2013). Ciulla (2004) argued that to achieve “good leadership,” leaders must be morally sound and as such, “ethics lies at the heart of leadership studies” (p. 18). Similarly, followers expect their leaders to be honest and ethical (Northouse, 2013). Honesty
