This knowledge content management system can be shared with others that want to have Mayo Clinic resources. Resource management is centralized than having a top-down management approach, which avoids infighting and promotes team working. Knowledge content management system is a knowledge delivery strategy, which is an alternative to the M&A strategy. While M&A strategy may improve the efficiency of shared service like human resources and finance, it may be more difficult to improve the coordination of care. The alternative is being more patient centered and be right at their bedside. Mayo clinic’s alternative is a high-quality clinical affiliation where providers share the best practice and easily consult with each other. First, information continuity: patients are given clinically relevant information that is available to all providers at the point of care and to care patient through electronic health record system. Second, care coordination and transition: patient care is coordinated among multiple providers and transitions across care setting are actively managed. Third, system accountability: clear accountability for the total care of patients, group this attribute with care coordination, since one supports the other.
