Amazing Cars has the following strengths in Period 4. Amazing Cars still has the largest number of dealers with 480. The other firms have the following: Firm B 294, Firm C 350, Firm D 432, and Firm E 395. Firm A did not add any extra number of dealers and neither did the competitors so that may Amazing Cars be at top of the game.
2. Alfa Sales
Amazing Cars started with Alpha sales of 353 thousand units and is currently at 440 thousands units. This is an increase of 87 thousand units. The increased in unit sales was thanks to the major upgrade to Alpha. We changed the style from 1 to 2 as our consumer segments want a car with a style of minimum 2.

Firm A has one of the lowest investments in training with $40 million.Firm C invests $70 million in training and Firm E invests $50 million which puts us behind the game. Amazing Cars has this as a weakness as the Firm hasn’t taken the risk of investing more on training. The firm only invested $10 million in Period 1.
2. Dealer Rating
Firm A has the lowest dealer rating with 62 in comparison with the other firms. Firm E has the highest dealer rating with 74, both Firm B and C have 68, and Firm D 65. This weakness was created due to the lack of investment from Firm A in training. As mentioned earlier, Amazing Cars has only invested 10 million in period in comparison to the other firms
3. Market Share
Amazing Car started with a Market share of 24.8% but now it dropped to 19.9% which puts us in the third place. The two firms with the highest market share are Firm D with 26.3% and Firm E with 24.7%. They had just released great earnings and committed to achieve earnings per share growth of 11-17% for each of the next three years. Their CEO of 37 years, James Ziemer, knew this would be an extremely difficult task seeing Harley’s domestic market share recently top off at just under 50%. The domestic market was where Harley’s achieved the most growth over the past 20 years and with it leveling off, where was Harley going to get the 11-17% was the million dollar question.
In the beginning, we choose the Workhorse to become our first target market, and the Traveler has been our second target market. However, we didn’t get a successful sale at the beginning since our brand does not meet the needs of Workhorse and we had a very poor rating of our advertising for our target market even though we have a cheapest price in market. After a few quarters, we try to modify our brand and we find the Traveler may has high demand of our brand since we design a new brand for them, so we change the Traveler to be the first target market and the Workhorse move to second.
GM should continue to use its technological advantages to create innovative automobiles, but do so cautiously. GM should follow the direction of today’s environmentally conscious consumers who want less expensive, economical automobiles. GM should primarily utilize a cooperative game-theory approach in its sales and marketing strategies in order to stay in sync with the current automotive industry needs.
Achieving world class business performance is a major challenge in today’s society. Manufacturing companies continue to face increased competition and globalization from its competitors. (1, p. 148). The automotive industry is one of the most volatile manufacturing industries that we have, which was evident in the 2008 – 2010 automotive industry crisis. (2) This global financial downturn served notice to the American automotive manufactures to raise the bar, in order to achieve word class business performance. General Motors, one of the country’s largest automotive manufactures, had to receive a government bailout to survive. During this time many with the corporation asked themselves, if we were a world class business, would we be facing this pending crisis. The answer was a resounding “NO”. General Motors has come out of bankruptcy and is focused on being a world-class business organization.

The American auto industry is in a crisis, their vehicles are not in demand and they need government bailouts to keep their businesses afloat. American vehicles are not on demand because people want fuel-efficient, the car companies that are not at the point of bankruptcy, longer lasting vehicles, and hybrid cars. The American car companies are at a point of bankruptcy and people don’t want to buy cars from a company that may not be there in a couple of months. The foreign car companies are doing well and they much more dependable now that we are in an economic crisis. American cars are not fuel-efficient, not as long lasting, and don’t make many hybrids, so this affects their business negatively. I got some ideas that will make American car companies be on top of the industry again.

According to a “Fuel My Motivation” article (2010), this analysis considers internal influences that can positively or negatively affect our ability to achieve our goals. The internal factors are our strengths and weaknesses. Also considered are opportunities and threats, which are external influences that can have a positive or negative impact on the ability to achieve our goals.
