Just to follow-up and as I mentioned on our in-brief and out Brief today February 16, 2016, It was brought to my attention that we have officers swiping their time card early or before time to do so, there are officer swiping their time card One minute, five and Seven minutes before scheduled time to go home. If your schedule is from 0330-1200 or 1030-1900, please be sure you swipe on time coming to work and when going home as well. I advised all officers on duty and I have been putting all on notice about swipe your KRONOS time card on time. This will be a verbal and written notice about following your schedule and swipe your time card according to your schedule.
Chronemics, also known as the study of time, varies greatly from culture to culture. The American culture is very adamant about time, that if one is late to an event, a negative message is usually attached to their behavior. Arriving to class or to a meeting on time is a typical norm for this
-My hours were listed as 8:30 am to 5pm. Mike brought to my attention that he had noticed I had been tardy on more than one occasion.
8. Employees should always work according to their scheduled times and refrain from taking unapproved overtime. Regular tardiness and unexcused absences will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It is a myth to believe that an officers job is spend fighting dangerous crimes, in reality officers spend more time handing smaller cases. For example, police officers spend a lot of time doing daily tasks such as giving speeding tickets and being mediators in disputes (Kappeler & Potter, 2005). Handing out speeding tickers and handling minor disputes are far from fighting crime. Police officers spend more time doing preventive measures (Kappeler & Potter, 2005). Preventive measures involve officers intervening to prevent further altercations. Victor Kappeler and Gary Potter discussed the myth of crime fighting as invalid and misleading notions of an officer’s employment.
As discussed, this payroll, Christopher Fields and Christopher Esposito-Bernard will submit two separate timesheets. Their regular timesheet and an additional timesheet for yesterday's training (4/28/2016). They will record 2 hours in the “Indirect and Administrative” section. Rudy will be their supervisor for this timesheet.
Renzo’s hands are sweaty and the pressure of clocking in on time for holidays becomes a race for all employees. When holidays arrive, Mr. Paul rearranges employee’s clock in hours. Thus, it is required for employees to enter at least 30 minutes before starting time or you can expect a scream across the store, shouting “Your, late”. Either an employee clocks in on time or they become late. For instance, Renzo mentions “before, when I started working, you could clock other employees in, but now a new system was embedded at Adidas, which uses a tablet to scan your fingerprints and mark you present”. So once, an employee is late, Mr. Paul, deducts major employee points and usually makes an employee start over and reach the goal of 500 employee points starting from zero. These employee benefits, gives access to raise an employee’s hourly rate and obtain exclusive employee discounts that becomes available when the limit of 500 points is reached. “I surely love it”, says

The first incident I came across was the traffic stop. A man was pulled over for speeding 10 miles per hour above the posted speed limit in a residential area. I estimated he was going about 36 miles per hour when the posted speed limit was actually 25 miles per hour. After running his license plate, he had no previous violations, no records for a stolen car, and he had valid registration and emissions for the vehicle. The logo on his uniform states, “We’re always on time”, hinted to me as the reason for the driver to be speeding. After questioning him, the story checks out to be true and he stated that his supervisor had strict rules about being at work on time. If in fact he violates that rule he could lose his job. He sounded very sincere and apologetic for knowing he went over the speed limit. He has no prior violations on file. Given the circumstances, my gut reaction is to let him off with a warning. I believe it will be a wake-up call for the driver to use more caution in the future. The driver was not a dangerous threat nor was he driving recklessly on the roadway.
Understaffed and overpaid, is what some are claiming in article Rising Police Overtime Bill in Several Cities Comes Under Scrutiny that evaluates claims that overtime spending is high in law enforcement. Due to low retention and higher crime rates, many departments are finding themselves relying on officers do extended shifts. However, I feel this shouldn’t be a long-term solution because it’s harmful to officers, public and causes overspending.
On Thursday November 17, 2016, I received a grace warning for time management for not attending the clinical duty rotation for screening and mentoring on time. Such warning resulted from not being aware of the actual time for the students to appear in clinic. I was under the impression, based on our duty rotation schedule as it stated, that our rotation duty starts at 1PM until 4PM. Together with my peers we appeared in school at 12:30 but took our time to get ready and change to our scrubs and lab jackets. We entered the clinic 15 minutes prior to 1PM. At that point we were told by our clinical technician that we are late for our duty screening rotation even though we were under the impression we have appeared early. According to the clinical technician our screening duty rotations starts half hour prior given time just like our previous clinical time. This has displayed a lack of courtesy to the clinical technician, faculty and students, and as a result I was issued a time management grace warning.
As we may see on television, it may seem as if officers are always out in the field chasing down the criminals but there is more to their jobs than just that. Officer’s jobs also include plenty of documentation. They have to fill out reports about the arrests and the actions that lead up to the arrest. In the past officer used paper and ink pen or even a typewriter to fill out their reports. Now with all the new technology they are ab...
The problem of time management can be said to be universal not only affecting students but also other people in careers. This problem is seen to transition from a person’s life from different cadres of his or her engagement specifically from home, school and at work. It is also a problem that is internal and not external.
Officer Carl works a twelve-hour shift which starts from 8:00 clock in the morning to 8:00 clock in the evening, but at times he rotates shifts during the weekend. Officer Carl made me aware that being a police officer was his passion and he does not see himself doing any job than being a police officer. He further explained that helping people, apprehending individuals for a crime and lesson violations on the community and on the road was what makes him happier. Also, he said that the only thing he hates about his job was the lack of sleep, and the long hours shift makes him feels he doesn’t have enough strength and

Whenever i was working this summer we had someone not show up just because he didn't want to. He didn't call to tell anyone he wasn’t gonna be there and we had to close down the place i was working because someone decided not to come into work. We had another person who wouldn’t show up on time and would leave before it was closing time everyday and each day he made up excuses to leave and why he was late. If I was a boss or manager of a department and i had someone constantly doing something like this I wouldn't let my employ do that either he gets on time and stays till closing or he leaves and that is it. Everyday I would get there 15-20 minutes before i was scheduled so i can get everything cleaned from the previous worker the day before
