This day had been so pleasing since the beginning; it was a summer weekend of the year 2005.One of the finest days came to a start with an early morning shopping with my cousins, mother, aunt, and younger sister. Here we all obtained our swimsuits which we later took home meeting the rest of our family. Eventually we packed all that subsisted to go from Phoenix to Rocky Point. After we were completely set to hit the road my cousins went on their truck while my family and I left happily behind them. Listening to music, laughing, singing, eating, and talking we spent the entire time on the road having a pleasant time. I was so anxious to get to perceive the beach, construct sand castles, play in the water, spend time with my family. A few hours into our road trip we arrived at our destination. …show more content…
I immediately changed into my pink zebra printed swimsuit that I thought was spectacular. Now I was running toward my family racing next to my sister whose cheeks were red apples and her breathe was
Before long I spotted my friends a few feet away and I walked in their direction. I found my 3 friends roaring with laughter, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well. A few hours later we were all piled in the car and Ashley’s parents drove home. We sat in a comfortable silence because everyone was exhausted from all the fun that we had. I smiled to myself in the dark, as I thought about what an amazing story my trip to six flags would make in the
I never predicted this beautiful trip ending up as a nightmare in my existence. I drove for approximately 40 minutes and my partner shared the driving for an additional 40 minutes. We were driving my friend mom’s brand new Toyota Camry XLE; one of the most comfortable cars I had ever been in. We enjoyed the elongated ride with new hit music, and air conditioning set to an exact temperature that met our necessities. On the way to the beach some doubts about going there started to circle around our minds, but the fact that we were about half way there made them a...
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
“BEEP. BEEP. BEEP,” My phone alarm went off at 5:30. The sun was shining through my window which filled my room with light and warmth. I groggily got out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom to grab my suit. I ran downstairs to pack my swim bag and eat breakfast. Today is the first day of high school swim. I am as excited as I am nervous. I've been swimming for a while but high school swim is very different. More meets. More practices. More competition. Megan came to pick me up for practice and she and Taylor were jamming out to music in the car the whole way to Appleton West. But all I could hear was my heart pounding in my chest.
I knew it was coming. A couple weeks before, I received an introductory email from my instructor explaining the textbook we needed and providing a link to the class website. I selected the link and navigated curiously around the site, arriving at last at the class itinerary. To my horror, I saw planned on the third class day a “moderately strenuous hike over steep, rough ground.” Subsequent readings of this statement produced the same result, and so I resigned myself to impending doom.
My youth pastor pulled out of our church parking lot at three am in the morning loaded down with a bus full of twenty four teenagers including me. We were off at last head to Colorado Spring Colorado, little did I know, our bus was going to fall apart this very day.
Remembering the feeling of embarrassment whacked against the side of my face as I realized that how horrendous I was at swimming. I can reflect back to that moment and say it motivated me to become such an astonishing swimmer. It began when my best friend Anthony, who also recruited me into tennis, was helping the empty swim team recruit members. Anthony was the type of person who would share his thoughts about a particular event and recommended it. “You’d be in shape for the tennis team if you join the swim team, it would also be helpful if you joined since we’re lacking people,” he explained. Participating in the swim team was one of the most remarkable experiences during high school.
Imagine you’re at the edge of the Grand Canyon, watching the magic of a solar eclipse, or scuba diving in the ocean’s mysteries. I do all of these things for the thrill of adventure and discovery. These adventures aren’t just dreams; each adventure offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of the world. The Grand Canyon reveals 2 billion years of rock history along the Colorado River, showing off vibrant colors up close. During total solar eclipses, we get a chance to study Earth's atmosphere in unique conditions, seeing the elusive corona.
“Every summer has its own story.” Each summer you would create new memories full of both delight and sorrow. There are memories that you would want to hold onto. One of those memories was from one of my summers, the summer of 2017. During the summer of 2017, I had a chance to go to Vietnam to visit my family. During the trip, my family and I went to many places together. We gave way to amusement parks, gardens, restaurants, waterfalls, and more. I had an amazing time spending with my family and hope to someday visit them again. From this trip to Vietnam, there were both joy and sadness.
Over the course of a hundred years, swimsuit designs for competitive swimming have drastically changed. Around 1400 BC in ancient Greece and Rome, people swam naked. In the 1900s, the first manufacturers made a swimsuit made of heavy wool, and now, swimsuits are made of fabrics that help reduce drag for a swimmer during performance. One of the factors of the changes in swimsuits is the use of biomechanics and technology. Biomechanics are used so that manufacturers can find the best fabric for swimsuits so that a swimmer that swim their best. Studies prove that a swimsuit a swimmer is wearing usually affects their performance positively. As generations of swimmers evolve, the use of biomechanics and kinesiology are greatly needed to catch up with the demand for faster swimmers. So the question is, how are manufacturers going to make the best swimsuit possible?
Gaining some new useful knowledge was an unnerving background. One of the hardest things I've ever needed to do was figure out how to swim. I was constantly anxious of the water, however I chose that swimming was a critical aptitude that I ought to learn. I likewise thought it would be great practice and assist me with becoming physically more grounded. What I neglected to acknowledge nonetheless, was that figuring out how to swim would build my fearlessness.
It was the perfect day, and there was nowhere else I would rather be. It was one of those days that you wish would never end. A time when you had absolutely no worries in the world. I could have stayed at the beach forever. So far I had spent the whole morning laying in the warm sunshine. The only sounds where of the waves crashing towards the shore. All of my friends sat there quietly beside me. The girls were sitting there reading their books or laying in the sun, and the guys had just sat down to rest from kayaking. I was relaxed so much to the point that I could fall asleep.
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her humungous skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every
If your mom and dad were both drowning, who would you save first? For me, I can’t save anyone. I do not know how to swim. As swimming season comes to a start, my dad suggests that I join the swimming team. A few weeks before the season starts, our school’s swimming coach takes out the first meeting.
Now we had to make the long trip back to Mrs. Tina’s house. It was such a long day, and we were extremely tired so we decided to skip dinner. We took showers, put on our pajamas, brushed are teeth, and went to bed. Over the next few days we went to the beach, had picnics in the park, went bike riding and skating, and took a trip to the mall. We had such a fun week, but now it was time to go home. So, we thanked Mrs. Tina and her family for being so generous and welcoming to us. We told them that they would have to come visit us so we could return their kindness they showed us. So, we gave them hugs and kisses and we headed back to Las Vegas.
