People will be heading to a movie theatre in November 2017 to watch DC’s Justice League or Marvel’s Thor Ragnarok whether that be for the popularity of the movie, the action, or the gritty storyline. Since it is the human nature to see what is better than what, there is going to be a competition. Three separate studios each own big superhero franchises. The three studios are Marvel studios, Warner Bros (DC), Fox.
In the present, it might seem all the superhero movies are the same, but do you see Marvel Studios or Warner Bros experimenting with R rated films like Fox? Fox, the leading bannerman in superhero movies can pull off funny R-rated films (Deadpool 2016) but at the same time can make a gritty dark R-rated film like Logan (2017).

Fox laid the groundwork for the R-rated genres and developed a passionate fanbase. Executives at the studio listened to the fans when they weren't sure about Deadpool because of the rating. But we fans pushed for it and we made it happen like Ryan Reynolds who played Deadpool said “One year ago to almost today, some [explicit] in here leaked that footage, and that’s why we’re standing here. You guys, the internet, fans, you guys made the studio do this. You bent their arms behind their backs, twisted their frigging necks, and here we are” said Ryan at Comic Con.
The test for Fox is the departure of Hugh Jackman who was the constant in the franchise that we could always count on but with new actors like Dafne Keen (X23) who is only 12, Evan Peters ( Quicksilver), and James Mcavoy taking the reins of Professor X from Patrick Stewart, the future of X-Men franchise is in good hands of Fox with more spin-offs like Gambit and Deadpool 2.
After the success of Fox’s X-Men universe and all of Fox passionate fans, Marvel Studios decided to start something with heroes they have and assembled the Avengers with Iron Man (2008) the first installment of phase one led by the main character Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downy Jr), a playboy egotistical genius.
Since Iron Man, Marvel has kept adding new heroes and more villains. The villains have become dull and the action feels
We are currently living in the Golden Age of Superheroes. They dominate our cultural life, and have become seemingly permanent fixtures in modern media. Since X-Men burst onto the screen fifteen years ago, we have witnessed the release of over forty superhero movies. By 2020 we will have seen the release of more than twenty-five more. Today, the much anticipated film Superman vs. Batman has come to theaters. Though a plethora of superhero movies have been released, it is to the dissatisfaction of many, having long been exhausted by the stories of the Hulk, Batman, and Spider-man. Although I must agree that it is quite easy to get bored with the constant action, and flashing colors of these films, if one looks deep enough into the story they will discover universal themes and metaphors. Though they may be fighting off alien invasions, these heroes are also battling with their personal challenges, challenges which we can
In Superhero Worship by Virginia Postrel published in The Atlantic explores the glamour of comic heroes coming to live, and what that glamour really is. From paper to screen superheroes have caught the wonder of the American people. The most wellknown superheroes were introduced in the 1930s through the late 1950s, during the time of warfare and national pride. Let’s discuss a little bit of comic book history for starters. The most iconic superhero in all of American comic book history has got to be Superman. He was created near the beginning of superhero comic books and debuted in Action Comics #1 in 1938[1]. He would remain as the blueprint for many superheroes for years to come as the atypical white American male. But as the years go by there were comic book heroes that came out that go against this archetype such as Wonder

Which comic production do you think is better, Marvel or DC Comics? People these days have raves and wars over which team has more fans. Think about this, which major team would win fighting against each other? The Avengers or the Justice League? DC has a way of creating characters with characteristics that no one could ever think of. If the Avengers and the Justice League went up against each other, DC Comics would put up a major fight and destroy the Avengers.
During those ages when we are just a little kid, we dreamt to be a superhero that could protect the world from being attacked or destroyed by enemies. We always worship to the superheroes that we liked when we watch the superheroes movies. Not only that, we also even act as them by using a scarf, tie on our necks and crazy around with our friends. Recently, I adored with two kinds of superhero movies after I watched them. Those movies are The Kick-Ass 2 and The X-Men 2 which mainly attract teenager’s attention nowadays when they plan to watch a movie. However, there are many differences between these two superheroes movie that we could see from their abilities, costume, and even their operation when they fight criminal.
If I were to ask you who would win in a fight the Justice League or the Avengers, you may say the Avengers while your friend says the Justice League. Marvel and DC have been in constant battle over which company is better, and we all know the obvious answer is Marvel. They have a better style in writing their comics than DC does. They have way better movies than DC does. Marvel also, in my opinion, has way better superheroes too. Although I love DC with all my heart, Marvel is just a better franchise and does a better job of telling the stories of its superheroes.
Why Superheroes? “The answer is pretty simple: because superheroes show us who we are and what we are capable of achieving (O’Connor, 2013).” Dr. Patrick O’Connor is a clinical psychologist that has mastered the art of psychotherapy through comic books and superheroes. He has managed to use the hobbies and childhood heroes of many of his clients to help them overcome mental health problems as well as childhood traumas. Dr. O’ Connor’s form of therapy has been so successful among his clients, that he currently teaches others how to help their patients in a course at The Chicago School of Professional Psychotherapy: “Geek Culture in Therapy”. In an attempt to help those who are not able to access “Geek Therapy” Dr. O’Connor also started an online database, Comicspedia, which describes hundreds of comic book storylines and matches them to themes which include being different, losing a loved one, family relationships, difficult decisions, and facing fears to name a few.

In the world of comics, two main publishers dominate: DC Comics and Marvel Comics. DC Comics promotes superheroes such as Batman, a vigilante who began fighting crime solely to avenge the untimely death of his parents. He possesses no unique superhuman ability, other than a substantial fortune inherited from his late parents. Yet, the public in the Batman comics still adore their hero. In contrast, Marvel Comics promotes superheroes such as the X-Men, a team of superheroes who possess the X-Gene, a DNA mutation that gives each member a different ability.
