A perfect movie character is one that the audience can form a complex, personal relationship with in the short time that a movie is viewed, displaying the art of acting and drama perfectly. When the thought of lovable movie characters is brought up, Johnny Depp will almost always be apart of the discussion. With his quirky, lively attitude which blends perfectly into roles that should not have soul, Johnny Depp is truly a one-of-a-kind actor. With a spectrum of characters Depp has played, ranging from Edward Scissorhands in the movie Edward Scissorhands (1990), to playing his role in 21 Jump Street (1987), up until the recent Pirates of the Caribbean (2003), he is involved in roles that “only the likes of Depp can pull off” (“Johnny Depp”, 1). Although coming from rebellious teenage years and many “ups and downs of his personal life” (“Johnny Depp Biography”, 2), the actor has become one of the great faces of the movie scene of his generation. Depp's success, which some could contribute to luck, was carved out of his pure talent for expressing raw emotion through the characters he played and his free-bird, wild attitude in his early years. His talent and spirit changed the face of acting and of rebelling. Johnny Depp's early life, countless classic works, and personal actions created a persona that molded a new face of acting and of free-spirit for his generation.

... an inspiration to free-thinkers everywhere, living a life of spontaneity and mindful thinking. Through everything that he has been through, Depp has become the voice, face, and look of a generation of wanderers. Depp's life was filled with excitement, directly stemming from his willingness to follow his heart and do whatever it is that he felt he must do. There is something about that mindset that makes an audience fall in love immediately, and that is the appeal of Johnny Depp in every character he plays.

You can see that he's strong but he's also frightened. As you move your eyes towards what's behind him you notice that his hand is crippled and was probably burned. Your eyes meet his and they're a piercing blue. You are so struck by his looks you can't wait to go talk to him and find out about his personality traits. Johnny Tremain's personality was very fascinating, and it was most intriguing to read about how he changed from a bossy, impatient boy, into a thoughtful, patient gentleman.
Mr. Leo wrote this piece not only for informative purposes, but also to convince a particular audience that, whether intentional or not, characters have taken on harmful images some may find offensive. He is not speaking only to his fairly educated, loyal readers, but also to those who may have taken part in producing the movie. Mr. Leo makes visible to his readers what he believes to be stereotypes in the film. People may not have noticed these before, so he makes clear definitions and comparisons. To the rest of the audience, those who had a hand in making the movie, he makes a plea not to redevelop these characters in future films.

Born in Owensboro, Kentucky to Betty Sue and John Christopher Depp on June ninth nineteen sixty-three, Johnny Depp started out as a child in a band and moved on from there to begin a lifelong journey as a well-known actor as well as a loved family man with much heartache along the way. Johnny Depp has a more complex background then most people know of. His life is full of accomplishments and quite a few downfalls.
...e his ideas a fresh breathe of air, but they have a deeper meaning and are a breeding ground for thought and consideration. His reoccurring theme of individuality, which is supported by symbolism in his works, makes for relatable characters and situations. The ability to make a man with scissors for hands or a skeleton into a character that is relevant to one’s current life is special; not many people could pull it off. Burton gracefully blended his influences of Edgar Allan Poe-like characters and Dr. Seuss inspired scenery to create cinematic works that affected people of all ages. He may have been an outcast as a child, but what once was a flaw now makes him stand out from other directors. Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare before Christmas are only a portion of the films in which he wove a deep threaded theme promoting individuality and being true to oneself.
in the way he speaks in a sly voice. He is the perfect actor to play
Brad Pitt is an actor, who never let fame and wealth get in the way of helping people in need. Mr. Pitt’s passion for a city in need has personally touched my heart, and although he is known for his charming smile, incredibly good looks, and impeccable acting style, he should also be known as a true humanitarian.
Being one of the world’s most popular art forms, it was inevitable that these archetypes would find their way into film as well. In this essay I will argue that the films Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, Watership Down, and Trainspotting are all versions of The Hero’s Journey, consequently demonstrating just how prevalent these archetypes have become in modern cinema. And that mythology and storytelling are important parts of each culture because they prevent the darkness in our hearts from spreading.
