“You’ve only got three choices in life: give up, give in or give it your all you’ve got” is the motto of the phenomenal superhero, Iron Man. Iron Man is the ultimate superhero due to his unique personality, hilarious charisma and incredible armored suits, which protects him at all times. He is able to fly at supersonic speeds and can even survive a bomb explosion. Not only that, Iron Man is able to shut down any electronic devices around him while using his dominant electromagnet force shields. During the day, he is simply known as Anthony Edward ‘Tony’ Stark, technology and math genius as well as current owner of Stark Industries. When trouble is near, the armor suit parts and arc reactor in his chest instantly transform him into a legendary fighting machine. Keep your eyes out because he is one of the most wisest and well built superheroes in the world of Marvel, it’s Iron Man! Iron Man isn’t just all about the suit and flash though. He is capable of unleashing intense super powers that are able to aid him when needed.
Although many superheroes in the world of Marvel are extremely powerful, not many of them are invincible, but Iron Man is! The healing factor system in his body is able to save him at the most desperate of times. Using power stowed away, the armor parts in the hollow bones of his body work together to recuperate him back to life if needed. Tony Stark is quite powerful without the suit as well though. After being injured during a battle, Tony made the decision to inject his veins with micro techno-organic technology that strengthens his body and powers from the inside. It proves helpful because he is able to rely on the modern technology that flows through his veins as well as his intellectual intelligence. His p...

Tony Stark and Hamlet also have the ability to self-destruct. During the third Iron Man Tony Stark instructs J.A.R.V.I.S. to take him to a rural area because he will not have the power to make it home. This then lands him with a ten-year-old boy and a power suit with no power. This shows his self-destructive behavior because he into issues with the Mandarin people leading to not having enough power to make it back. He also had to rely on the young boy to make it back to California and to his girlfriend (Black).
Although most ethnic groups do not like to be thought of as different, they do come to enjoy the benefits that come with being labeled as a minority. Affirmative action is a program initiated to try and bridge the gap between white Americans and the minorities that reside in America. In addition, bilingual education is constantly an issue in Southern California, especially when choosing political candidates. In the two books I will be examining, Hunger of Memory by Richard Rodriguez and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, both characters in the stories are criticized by their own ethnic groups for not following the path that their parents have laid out for them. Protag, the main character in Invisible Man, chooses to join an organization called the Brotherhood, instead of a similar organization which is made up of all black men. Rodriguez decides to take a stand against affirmative action and bilingual education, two issues which Hispanics have almost always been in favor of. However, the decisions by these two characters to go against the values widely held by members of their ethnic groups causes a great deal of tension. People want to question how devoted the characters are to the cause. Both characters went against the norm and made choices which brought criticism from members of their ethnic groups, but their choices ultimately led to the strengthening of their groups culture in society. First we will look at what may have influenced the character’s choices, followed by the designation of being labeled a scholarship boy may have played in their decisions. Finally we will look at what exactly they did for their ethnic group and some of the differences that exist between the two characters.
Saving people come first, and Steve Rogers is selfless when it comes to protect innocent people. However, once he is certain everything is over and that HYDRA can't put people in harm's way, he stops being Captain America and goes back to being “just a kid from Brooklyn” – as he likes to remind it sometimes. He drops his shield which is an allegory for his duty as a soldier, a protective item, and as America's golden boy, wearing America's colors. He is a diligent soldier and a noble man, and gives up everything he built more than once for Bucky. Dropping the shield was a symbolic act that he reproduced in Civil War, when Tony Stark told him he didn't deserve
Making the suit is much easier than fighting Mandarin. Iron Man gets more skill by wearing the suit and learning how to use the suit. Iron Man’s greatest fear is the bits of shrapnel in his chest. Iron Man’s Abyss is when his suit is taken over. Iron Man’s revelation is when he develops a serious dependency of alcohol. At the beginning of his journey in the suit he is a bit cocky as well. “You’re not a man, you’re nothing- more than a manic. I’m not afraid of you, no politics here, just good old fashion revenge” (tony stark, google). Iron Man is wiser because he realized that you should never give up. His imbalance is fixed by making the suit and saving his life and the people around him. “I had my- eyes opened. I came to realize that i had more to offer this world than just making thing blow up” (tony stark, google). His injustice is fixed by making the suit. Iron Man’s gift is he gets his suit.
In the film Iron Man, Stark is betrayed when the threshold guardian, Obadiah Stane takes the electromagnet of Stark and uses it for his own suit. Stark’s ally and assistant Pepper Potts find out about this and they inform S.H.I.E.L.D. Pepper Potts and S.H.I.E.L.D go to Obadiah Stane’s workplace where they find a big gigantic suit which Obadiah wears. This resurgence of evil comes in the form of Obadiah wearing a suit which is seemingly more powerful and bigger than Iron Man. Stark fits in his old electromagnets and sets off to defeat Obadiah. Iron Man and Obadiah have a duel in which an innocent family is almost killed. There is always a doubt of success in a Hero’s journey and Iron Man who has almost drained all of his power seems unfit to fight Obadiah. Iron Man manages to beat Obadiah and returns successful thus defeating his final test. He is swarmed by media who think that Stark is Iron Man. Stark deceives the idea of lying and reveals to the media that he is Iron Man this being the Atonement. Stark returns to his life and lives life with the world knowing he is Iron Man- his return with the elixir. The completion of the resurrection is an important feature of the Hero and his life. The hero completes the final test and returns with the elixir which Stark has both done by defeating Obadiah and confirming his status as Iron Man. This pattern in Stark’s life confirms his status as a true model
Ralph Ellison uses symbolism in the first chapter of Invisible Man to illustrate the culture in which he lived and was raised. In the chapter, entitled “Battle Royal”, Ellison intends to give his graduation speech to the white elite of his community. However, before her can deliver said speech, he is forced to perform humiliating tasks. The use of symbols is evident throughout “Battle Royal” particularly with regard to the Hell imagery, power struggle, and the circus metaphor.
The narrator in Invisible Man has the opportunity to take on numerous roles in this novel due to his invisibility. The narrator comes in contact with 3 main characters that greatly shape his life and make him the invisible man that he is. The white men from the ballroom, Dr. Herbert Bledsoe from the college, and the narrator’s grandfather all have a huge impact on the narrator’s life. In his novel, Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison uses the main characters to affect the narrator’s invisibility.
Unlike Batman, who was nicknamed the "Dark Knight" due to foreboding and his dark character, Spider-man, AKA Peter Parker, is a genuine kid with strong morals and ethics who cares about virtually every citizen of New York city. While both Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne had a rough upbringing and many drastic family tragedies, only Peter was able to keep an optimistic and stable character. Peter Parker has also had to over come challenges that have strongly challenged and questioned his heroism, but have made him a better hero and strengthened his admirable character. Through his many rough experiences, Peter Parker has become a well-balanced hero, who has come to believe and demonstrate that “with great power comes great responsibility”.
After his parents dying, Batman, or Bruce Wayne, have promised himself to get rid of the evil in the city. He spent most of his childhood training his intellectual and physical abilities in order to defeat the villains. As a result, Batman is considered one of the most intelligent superheroes around. According to Caleb Hu, “[Bruce Wayne] is cited to have an IQ of 192 and is considered to be a polymath” (Quora). Due to the fact that he have started traveling when he was just a teenager, he have learned about many subjects, such as “physics, math, chemistry, engineering, etc.” (Quora). Because of the loss of his parents, he have become driven to continue and push his limits in order to learn more about the elements of the criminal mind. On the other hand, Iron Man has a different type of intelligence. Before Tony Stark’s parents died, he have been sent to MIT at the age of 15 to study the numerous scientific fields, such as physics, engineering, and computer science. After his parents have died, he have acquired the family business, which was the Stark’s Industries. His intelligence have outperformed most of the superheroes. In addition to his intelligence, “ Stark was once called the world’s most adept multi-tasker by Reed Richards, due to his ability to compartmentalize his mind into three separate yet independently operating sections” (CBR.com).
Anthony (Tony) Stark was original a fiction character from a comic that was created by Stan Lee in 1963 but since then has many movies and books made about him. Tony is sassy, brilliant, forgetful, rich, rude, player that eventually becomes a philanthropist. Even from the young age of 6, Tony quickly stole the spotlight with his bright, amazing, and unique mind. At the age of 21, his parents were killed in a car accident in 1991. In that same year, Tony became the new CEO of a weapon company called Stark Industries, a company that his father had started and he ushered in a new era for his father's legacy. He changed the face of the weapons industry by making satellite targeting, smarter weapons, and also more advanced robots. His weapons weren't always used for the greater good; for example, during one of his trips to the Middle East to show off his latest weapon, the Jericho, to the American army, he was abducted by the terrorist group, Ten Rings. During capture, he was hit with one of his own weapons causing many shards of shrapnel to enter his body slowing getting closer and closer to his heart. Yinsen, a captured doctor, took care of Tony but in return, the Ten Rings tried to make Tony build the Jericho. But instead of making it, he made a battle suit that he then used the suit to escape from the terrorists' base; sadly, Yinsen was killed during the outbreak. In raged with the death of his friend, Tony burns down all of the Ten Rings weapons and attempts to fly away, but he ends up failing and crash landing in the desert where he was then rescued by the military.
The latest installment in the Marvel Universe of superhero fantasies premiered a few weeks ago guaranteed to gather audiences eager to continue the adventures of the blockbuster series “Ironman”, “Thor” and “Hulk” and the megahit “Avengers” . Under the Disney Company’s direction, Marvel has produced polished and highly entertaining movies time after time. “The Winter Soldier” was no exception.
We all have heard of Spider Man. He was the average teenager until he was bitten by a radioactive spider. I like Spider Man but I believe there are a lot of things missing in his movies. The police and government are portrayed poorly, as to assisting Spider Man or lack there of. Spider Man goes about doing his own thing, outside of the law. He is something we can all relate to and I believe that is why a lot of people like him. Most people would say they want to be like Spider Man because of his cool super human powers. I believe it would be a lot of hard work, dedication, and a lot of responsibility. Think about this, you would have two lives to live as a completely different person. You would have to keep up good grades, make some money to live on, support your family in one life, then save people, fight crime, and kill villains in the other life. It would be way to overwhelming for me.
For Iron Man, he is also a famous person with high social class. He is weapon producer and a director of company. Before he becomes a super hero he is just the one who creates weapons. He is clever but sometimes he is quite rash that he do not plan before he act.
In the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark (A.K.A. Iron Man) creates a program (Ultron) to have peace on Earth. Unfortunately, the program backfires and Ultron attempts to wipe out all of humanity with a meteor.
