In the first part she interprets the two chapters of the book of Matthew the Genealogy, Birth of Jesus, the Visit of Wise and so on. She explains the root of Jesus as he was came from the root of David and Abraham, shows also that before Jesus was born there was an intervention of the angel to both Mary and Joseph. Thus the author described also the word “Jesus” as a savior and the term “Emmanuel” as God is with us. The first two chapters explain the start of the life of Jesus in the Christian world and the start of the plan of God for the salvation on Humanity. The second part deals with two chapters; the coming of John the Baptist as forerunner and one who prepares the way of Jesus to the start of his mission.
This chapter will show how John prepares the people of God, thus John the Baptist proclaims to “repent for the kingdom of God has come”. Next is the baptism of Jesus. The author would say that, the baptism is a ritual sign of God’s deliverance from the end time judgement now in the present time. In this the author also described the temptation of Jesus, his three temptations, the temptation on Pleasure, temptation on Power, and the Responsibility to rule the world. Thus these two chapters would tell us that our life should be dependent on God for he will guide us in the right …show more content…
path. The next part is the chapters 5, 6, 7.
These three chapters would remind us of the importance of everyone, as what the author described in the book; that we should have justice to our brothers and sisters. In the next part the author described the wisdom of God, the author says that the wisdom of God is the perceptions of the eternal truths of nature, as well as the law revealed by God, are considered manifestations of divine wisdom. “All wisdom is from God”. And thus the author says that the wisdom of God is Jesus, that wisdom of God makes final appeal through Jesus, the incarnate one. Thus this wisdom of God, as was presented by the author through the book of Matthew is the final wisdom that we should believe in his greatness throughout our life.
The next chapter, chapter 5, The Spirituality for Christian Community, that according to the author “for Matthew the original spiritual way of Christian community begins with God’s gift of wisdom”. The author said in “God’s Wisdom, Jesus, Wisdom Incarnate is the one who embodies the presence of God with us.”
The next part would deal with the three chapters, 8, 9, 10; these three chapters would summarize the entire healing and miracle performing of Jesus and the giving of Authority to his twelve disciples. Thus giving the twelve an authority as what the author discuss shows that the twelve worked for spreading the good news to
all. The next chapter, 11, 12, 13, presents the teaching and giving the parables to relate listeners in a practical thing so that it can be easily understood. The author presents this as our way of life that we should learn already on how Jesus lives in this world. Part 8 the author discusses five chapters,14, 15,16,17,18, these five chapters would stress on the continuation of the mission of Jesus and his miracles, healing and his teaching using parables. Thus the author presents the value of faith in our life that would always be visible in work and in deeds. In chapters 19,20,21,22,23,24,25, the part 9, they would lead us to understand that the law and the teaching of God would be a great help for us to be saved. The author would say that the law of God presented in Matthew would only be two parts, the love to our neighbor and our love to God. The last part would deal with the last four chapters, that present the fulfillment of the mission of Jesus to save and prepare our way toward his father in heaven. Thus the author would say that this chapter is the greatest gift of God for humanity giving his only son for us to understand how he loves us. In conclusion the book of Matthew was presented in a very practical as the author challenges us all to deepen our faith and believe that God loves us so much. Moreover, we should always trust the he will guide us towards our journey to him.

New Testament. Vol. 2. Edited by Gerhard Kittel. Translated by Geoffrey W. Bromiley. Grand Rapids, Mich.: Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 1964.
The Gospel of Matthew is an eyewitness story written for an audience of believers, under great stress, and persecution. Matthew develops a theological plot incorporating genealogy, speeches, parables, inter and intra textual references, common vocabulary, and fulfillment quotations, with a tension that builds as we are invited into the story. The crucifixion and resurrection bring us to a Christological climax that symbolically points beyond its conclusion to God’s Kingdom, bringing atonement, salvation and the ushering in the Eschaton. The extraordinary events surrounding the crucifixion act as commentary, adding important details concerning the death of Jesus.1

The book consists of three parts. The first part has five chapters of which focuses on explaining what the key questions are and why we find them difficult to answer. The second part has nine chapters explaining in detail what N.T. Wright considers Jesus’ public career and the approach he had in first century Palestine. The third part of the book, the last chapter, challenges readers to wrestle with the questions of Jesus’ life and ministry.
The Bible contains two parts, which are the Old Testament, the so-called the Jewish Bible, and the New Testament. Though many different writers involved in writing the Bible, the two Testaments are not independent; they are cross-referenced to each other. Christians often treat the Old Testament not only as the historical documents or literatures of the Israelites, but also as an important element of the foundation of the New Testament, because the writers of the New Testament lay strong emphasis on the relationship of Jesus with the prophecies of the Old Testament, which includes "the birth of Jesus, the place of His birth, the flight into Egypt, the return to Nazareth, the role of John the Baptist in preparing Jesus for His public ministry," the crucifixion of Jesus, and the resurrection of Jesus.
Since Matthew and Luke are not modern day biographies, they do not follow the standard that we imagine. I think the explanation for the combination of similarities and differences comes from the fact that the Matthew and Luke are styled differently and also have different audiences. Since Matthew and Luke are interpreting history for a specific audience, this would explain why Matthew and Luke contains differing details. For example, Matthew tells of the Wise Men that came to visit Jesus in Matt.2:1-12 while Luke tells of shepherds that came to visit Jesus in Luke 2:8-20. Since Matthew is styled for a Jewish audience, perhaps it is considered more impactful and stunning that wise philosophers came to worship a child. On the other hand,
God’s written law is something that is and should be continuously turned, to not only when Christians find themselves in need, but also throughout in one’s daily life. The four gospels tell to story of Jesus’ life and his teachings he gave while on the earth making it possible for there to be a true example of Christ-like faith. The proposition that there are differences in the story of Jesus and in his teachings seems to question the basis upon which the Christian faith is found upon. Rather than proclaiming the gospels as falsehoods because on the differences they possess, by analyzing the differences in the context of the particular gospel it can be understood that the differences are not made by mistake, rather as a literary device. ...f God’s glory and for those that have questioned their faith. The book urges the reader to consider the sacrifices Jesus made, his role as a messenger and mediator, and the ability of people to find salvation through the acceptance of Jesus. These are central messages that other portions of the Bible touch on but do not discuss with the same degree or urgency.

The four gospels are detailed accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Each portrays a unique story and angle of Jesus, who is the savior of the Jews and the world. Apostle Matthew’s writings are to prove to the Jews that Jesus is their Messiah. Mark stressed the humanity of Jesus and also his deity. Luke wanted to show that the gentile Christian in God’s kingdom is based on the teachings of Jesus. John speaks of Jesus as one sent from God to reveal His love and grace to man. The four gospels work together to elaborate on the several key themes; salvation, spreading His word, and the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise.
His book presents three main perspectives on Christology (biblical, historical, and contemporary). He attempts to combine classical views and contextual views of Christology.
The gospels explain Jesus’ life and death including His identity but also his activities, works, leadership and his suffering. Jesus is seen as a manifestation of God’s relationship with humans. An important fact about Jesus is the humility and modesty associated with his birth, upbringing and death. The fact that such a person ...
The Spiritual Exercises: not only speak to the Jesuits but also to the religious of other congregations; not only to the religious but also to the laity; not only to Catholics but also to the Protestants. In other words, the Spiritual Exercises speak to all who believe in God and base their spirituality on the gospel message. First I will define what a spirituality of vocation is. Second I will explain what the Spiritual Exercises mean. Third I will try to show how the Spiritual Exercises are a representation of a universal call to the Christian gospel. Then I will conclude by stating my stand.
