INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION
Qn.
1. A. Summary of an Interaction: I: Hey there! Claire: Hey too I: Am on my way to the school library to do some assignment and I want to use your book, give it to me. Claire: My book? Forget it, go and learn some etiquette first. I don’t just give out books to anyone. I: Its ok, I don’t think it would have helped me that much. Sorry anyway. Claire: Keep the sorry to yourself and next time learn how to borrow. I: Ok.
B.
o The sender didn’t express the message clearly; as he didn’t specify the type of the book he wanted to borrow, he also commanded as if the book was his.

2. Electronic communication: is the transmission of data or information using advanced techniques such as voice mail, electronic mail, teleconferences, video cassettes, radios, private television networks, computer, modems and machines. (L. C. Bovee, 2013)
A. Modes of electronic Communication.( Keth Evanets, 2013) o Email: It provides a channel of exchanging messages. One user have to generate a message, addresses the message to recipient, sends it and waits for the recipient’s reply. Its nature makes it suitable to the users who do not want to become involved in a lengthy conversation. o Video: It serves as a more interactive medium. By capturing series of photos, building them with sound and transmitting them over the internet to a remote user. Webcams allows users to communicate via a video chat. o Text Message: It allows one to send an electronic communication of about 160 characters to another SMS-enabled device like Mobile phone. o Instant Messages: It connects users through a central server that instantly delivers the electronic communication. Both the sender and receiver must all be logged in to start an instant message

Allows users to share aspects of your life and then follow up on the comments from friends other website users. o Audio: Audio includes radios, television, mobile phones, and internet. A telephone is a device that converts sounds into electrical impulses and sends them over copper wires of a remote unit which converts them back into sounds.
B. Advantages of using Electronic Communication: (Mchedi Khan, 2013) o Speed of transmission: One requires few seconds to communicate through electronic media as it supports quick transmission. o Wide coverage: It has made the World a global village thus making communication within the globe effective. o Exchange of feedback: It makes communication perfect by allowing instant exchange between participants. o Managing global operations: Managers can easily control operations across the globe because of advancement of electronic communication. o Low cost: Saves money and time as instant message and text SMS is cheaper compared to the traditional letter.
C. Disadvantages and pitfalls of Electronic Communication :( Mchedi Khan, 2013) o High cost of development: It requires huge investments for infrastructural development. Frequent change in technology also demands for further
One night, Guy pulled one of the books out from where they were being hidden
The urgency of communication was never much felt until the beginning and use of telegraphy. It was much easier to transmit and receive messages over long distances that no longer needed physical transport of letters.
Texting is a newer, shorter and very convenient method of sending messages back and forth between users on a cell phone. It is similar to email, but often using shorter messages to carry on a conversation between two or more people. Texting is fast and easy,
Instant messages (IM) short form refers to the transfer of messages between users in near real time. These instant messages are usually but not required to be short. Instant messages are often used in a conversational mode that is, the transfer of messages back and forth is fast enough for participants to maintain an interactive conversation (Campbell,et, al: 2002). Generally the messages that are exchanged are not stored, but this not also is the case. Instant messages differ from email in common usage in that; instant messages are usually grouped together into brief live conversations, consisting of numerous small messages sent back and forth.
People can "talk" to others by sending email messages, at the speed of pressing the send key. This information is instantly transmitted to the receiver, who can in turn, reply quickly. Today, one can even literally talk to someone else, just as if he/she were actually phoning someone over traditional phone lines. While the quality is not as clear as regular lines, the cost is considerably less.
4. To communicate with other computers, either one at a time (Instant message) or many at once (chat rooms or discussion groups).
Communication is an important aspect of processing and transferring information in our society. The important entities needed for a successful communication includes; a sender, receiver, message and feedback. First, the sender is a person or entity that is sending information to the receiver. After receiving the message, the receiver will attempt to decode the message and prepares a proper response (feedback). Communication is an essential part of our daily interactions; it can be seen used in businesses, for pleasure, sports, education and many more activities.
Social networking came along which helped speed up the process of communication. Before the invention of email in, people had to communicate with others by sending letters through the mail. After growing tired of waiting
Asynchronous Transmission: The asynchronous signaling methods use only 1 signal. The receiver uses changes on that signal to figure out the rate and timing of the transmitter, and then synchronizes a clock to the proper timing with the transmission rate. A pulse from the local clock indicates when another bit is ready. Asynchronous transmission is a slower but less expensive and effective for low-speed data communication.
Communication is an interdependent process of sending, receiving, and understanding messages. The definition implies that the components of the communication process cannot be examined separately. Rather, the relationship exists between the sender and the receiver, as well as the environment of the communication event, must be viewed as a whole. According to this perspective, if any of the components and circumstances change (that is, the number of individuals involved in the interaction, seating arrangements, or the time of the day) the communication event is altered. Communication is an ongoing process; we never stop sending and receiving messages. As we will discover, communication is a dynamic process, a process that changes from one communication setting to the next. Although it is difficult to predict, the ways of interpreting communication, certain components are always present in the communication process.
People in the present society have turned from the use of the old means of communication to the more advanced and technological ways of communicating. Technology has made it easier for people to communicate in a faster, efficient, and cost saving means through the introduction of the communication channels. The world has turned out to be the centre for technology with different technologies emerging daily as the people continue to develop from time to time to cope with the growing technology. The benefits of adopting the communication technology are explained in this article which shows why people do not function without technology.
Communication is the sharing of information between two or more persons or groups to reach a common understanding. In the communication, the information or ideas conveyed must be understood. Effective communication allows participants to properly exchange ideas. Communication is the two way process of exchanging information. Communication can be done through oral, verbal and written communication. Information is transmitted as words, tone of voice, and gestures and postures. Information can be shared face to face or by telephone, fax, e-mail, text messaging, videoconferencing, electronic-portfolios, chat, memos, letters, reports, etc. The number and types of methods increase as information technology systems become ever more involving a great deal of worldly experience and knowledge.
A popular way that people share information is E-mail. The first E-mail was sent in 1971. It was sent between two computers, that were sitting beside each other in the same room, and said “qwertyuiop” (Arandilla, 2011). While the meaning of this message has been lost over time, E-mail has become increasingly popular throughout the years. G-mail, an online email site created by Google, has over 45 million accounts.
The internet has revolutionized all forms of communication since the beginning of its existence. The world has now become smaller' or more like a global village', so to speak. The internet was first used by the U.S military for communications purposes. The internet, from the communication point of view, has brought on new developments and techniques to keep in touch not only for individuals, but for businesses as well. An example of how the internet has impacted communication would be an example of doctors now communicating through live video feeds via the internet with patients or other doctors to diagnose patients or to even guide and advise surgeons through complicated procedures.
Communication is used to interact with other individuals. There are a variety of ways of how people can communicate with one another. I would say in this day in age, the two most popular forms of communication would be face to face and virtual interaction. Face to Face interaction is when we are in real life and communicating. Virtual interaction is through a computer-generated source helping people communicate virtually.
