When looking at American sports cars, there are many options to choose from. Some are cheaper, some are faster, and some are more stylish. But, there are two American muscle cars that stick out compared to the rest: the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro. Although both cars have large fan-bases, when comparing affordability, performance, and ratings, the 2015 Ford Mustang is a better buy than the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro.
Although both cars are priced at about the same price, the Chevrolet Camaro is more expensive once it comes to higher packages. The Ford Mustang’s manufacturer's suggested retail price is between $23,800 and $42,592, depending on packages and options. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Camaro’s manufacturer’s suggested retail

price is between $23,705 and $72,305. Also, although neither car is known for having an amazing fuel economy, and the fuel economy depends on which transmission, engine, and other options each car has, the Chevrolet Camaro has a worse fuel economy than the Ford Mustang. The Ford Mustang averages between fifteen and twenty-two miles per gallon in city conditions, and between twenty-four and thirty-two miles per gallon in highway conditions.
The Chevrolet Camaro averages between twelve and nineteen miles per gallon in city conditions, and between eighteen and thirty miles per gallon in highway conditions. Overall, the Ford Mustang is generally a more affordable car than the Chevrolet Camaro once it comes to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price and fuel economy.
Secondly, the Ford Mustang can perform better than the Chevrolet Camaro. Each car has three different choices of engines and two different choices of transmissions. Each car also has different options for the buyer that may or may not increase or decrease the performance, but when comparing performance in these vehicles those options are not included in either one. Both the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro have the options of a four cylinder engine, a six cylinder engine, and an eight cylinder engine. Each car also has the option between a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission, but the manual transmission is always a better choice to get maximum performance results. So, the Ford Mustang’s two point

three liter, four cylinder “EcoBoost” engine makes 310 horsepower, while the Chevrolet Camaro’s two liter, four cylinder engine makes a horsepower of only 275. Also, the Ford Mustang’s three point seven liter, six cylinder engine makes only 300 horsepower, while the Chevrolet Camaro’s three point six liter, six cylinder engine can make a horsepower of 335. Lastly, the Ford Mustang has a five liter, eight cylinder engine that makes a whopping 435 horsepower, and the Chevrolet Camaro’s six point two liter, eight cylinder engine only makes 426 horsepower. The Ford Mustang’s eight cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission has a top speed of 164 miles per hour. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Camaro’s eight cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission has a top speed of only 156 miles per hour. Both cars with the eight cylinder engine and manual transmission can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in exactly four and a half seconds. Typically, engines that are larger in size can make a higher horsepower than a smaller engine. However, although the Chevrolet Camaro has a larger eight cylinder engine than the Ford Mustang, the Ford Mustang’s famous five liter eight cylinder “coyote” engine can make more horsepower. Also, the Ford Mustang’s six cylinder engine is slightly larger that the Chevrolet Camaro’s six cylinder engine, the Chevrolet Camaro’s six cylinder engine makes thirty-five more horsepower than the Ford Mustang’s, which actually makes less horsepower than its own four cylinder engine. Overall, when comparing both the Mustang’s and the Camaro’s eight cylinder engines with a six-speed manual transmission, both of which are standard for maximum performance, the Ford Mustang performs better than the Chevrolet Camaro in both horsepower and top speed. Finally, although both vehicles have excellent rating from both professionals and everyday consumers, the Ford Mustang has better ratings and reviews than the Chevrolet Camaro.
First of all, both vehicles have an official five star safety rating, which is excellent. But, when looking at Kelly Blue Book, which is a very reliable recourse for vehicle reviews and values, the Chevrolet Camaro was rated, by consumers, lower in both comfort and economy than the Ford Mustang. However, in the other four out of six categories on the same website both the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro had the same ratings, which were also both very high. But, the Ford Mustang was rated a nine point six out of ten overall by consumers on Kelly Blue Book and the Chevrolet Camaro was rated a nine point two out of ten overall by consumers. The Chevrolet Camaro was also rated a seven point six by a Kelly Blue Book expert, but the Ford Mustang did not have a rating by an expert on the site. Also, the 2015 Ford Mustang has recently became the best selling sports car in the world. Based off both observation and website reviews, the Ford Mustang is a higher rated car and has a larger fan
base. When comparing the affordability, performance, and ratings of American sports cars, the 2015 Ford Mustang outshines the long time competitor: the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. The Ford Mustang has a lower manufacturer’s suggested retail price and a better fuel economy than the Chevrolet Camaro, the Ford Mustang has a higher horsepower and top speed than the Camaro, and lastly the Mustang is higher rated and reviewed than the Chevrolet Camaro. Both are excellent vehicles, but the world’s best selling sports car is not to be messed with.
There was always a demand for trucks with the comfort of a passenger car, or a passenger car with the load capacity of a truck. In response to this demand Ford released the Ranchero in 1957. To compete with Ford’s Ranchero, Chevrolet created the El Camino whose first release occurred in 1959. Over the years, Chevy has made several modifications to the El Camino to improve performance and style. Since Chevy stopped producing the El Camino in 1987, it has become a collectible classic. This essay will focus on several of the engine and body modifications that were made between 1957 and 1987.
The corvette was first introduced in January 1953. To experiment with the car, they only made 300 cars, which were all made by hand and powered by a 235-cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine. The corvette was designed to show the world that General Motors could make a sports car that was a stylish two seater. All 1953 corvettes were polo white with red interiors. The engine of the car generated 150 horsepower and had a 2-speed power glide automatic transmission. Researchers have found that the first corvette has been known to go over 150 miles per hour.
When the word Mustang comes to play, most people think of a very well known car, not only for its stylish aspects, but for a variety of reasons: cost, features, speed (probably best know fact), and all around good appeal. The Ford Mustang was designed to be a people car. In 1960 Ford engineers sought out to build a car that the average motor head would be able to afford but yet still have the edgy feel about it. Back at the time of its release, in the early 1960's, the Mustang did hold the advantage over General Motors. General Motors had no car out at the time of the Mustang's release to compete with it. As the years progressed, Ford and Chevrolet managed to out do one another with there monster creations of each car. One such creation by Ford is their 590 HP "Super Stallion." The car features a 590 HP engine which burns alcohol instead of regular pump gas. Jack Keebler noted from Motor Trend Magazine, "The way to a fast time is to launch this pony at no more than 1,600 RPM, gently feeding in the throttle as the big 265/40/ZR18 Goodyear's churn at the edge of traction. Full throttle is impossible until you're well into third gear, but its still one helluva hand full to drive" (40 - 45). That is the newest creation from the M...

The Chevrolet Chevelle SSs' earliest engine in 1964 didn't perform as well as the later models. It had a 327 V8 engine which wasn't even close to as powerful as the later models. After a slow start, the 1965 Chevelle became a real muscle car. The car now had a lot more power since it had a 396 V8 engine, also known as the Z-16 package. Along with a better engine the Chevelle also had front and back anti-roll bars, faster power-assisted steering, and better braking. The 1965 Chevelle SS was great, but the 1970 Chevelle was the better than anything Chevrolet had made previously. The 1970 Chevelle had a LS6 454 engine, this was the best engine that Chevr...

In 1960, the American car landscape itself had expanded as Detroit began offering “compacts” alongside their full-size models. Many drivers, however, were looking for something in between these full size and compact model; this interest gave way to a new class, the intermediate. With many innovations between 1960 and 1964, like the 406 cubic inch V8 from Ford, the 389 from General Motors, and the wedge V8s from Chrysler, the golden age of muscle cars began in 1964. The Pontiac Tempest G...
So you are buying a new car and you ask yourself, Manual or Automatic? So choose. I told you the pros and cons on automatics and manuals. I told you which kind I like best. And even threw an opinion from another source. But in the end the choice is all yours. I can not tell you what kind of car to drive. What kind of transmission to get. Or even how to drive it, that is your prerogative. All I can tell you is that if you want some excitement in your ride, and do not want to spend a lot of money in the maintenance of you car, your best choice is a manual transmission. Even though manual transmissions are "it", for lack of a better word, in the end, it all comes down to the individual's preference
