Why Stephen Curry is the best player and most inspirational player
Accomplished NBA marksman, Stephen Curry, is hands down the best player in the NBA, and his road to glory was definitely not easy. Today he is known for his outstanding shooting skills and his inspirational story.
Stephen Curry is hands down the best 3-Pt shooter in the NBA. He holds many records for his shooting. Stephen Curry, the NBA’s MVP broke his own record for the most three-pointers in a season this past season. As a 44% career three point shooter who’s made an average of more than 200 three pointers per season, he is on his way to crush the record for the most amounts of three pointers per season. How did he do that you wonder? His physical attributes gives him the upper hand when it comes to shooting. Stephen Curry dribbles at over 10MPH down the court, and whenever he feels the need to stop and set his speed for a jump shot, it only takes him .33 seconds. Most NBA players dribble down the court with no more than 7MPH, and it takes them almost a full second to stop and set the speed for a jump shot. But how efficient is his jumps shot? His jump shot is one the most consistent shots in the NBA. His forearm is always within 5 degrees of vertical, and he consistently releases the ball as he is rising, .06 before the apex of his jump. On a 3-point shot, Stephen Curry releases the ball within 50 to 55 degrees. At 6 foot 3 inches, 4 feet shorter than the NBA average, not only does this higher trajectory help him shoot over taller defenders, it also creates a larger target at the other end of the parabola. But the most incredible thing about Curry’s shot is his quick release. After picking up his dribble, Curry can get off his shot in as little as .4 of a second!
